Since I was eyeing up the Trolls army box that's coming out, I thought I'd do a little try before you buy with Gunnbjorn and Dozer. I've had only one game so far with them, but liked what they bring to the table. I tried something silly by bringing Rok with him because I thought Kill Shot on the spray could be interesting. Turns out that Guided Fire landed me 3 crit freezes, one of which secured me the game allowing me to pound Gaspy3 into the dirt.
What sort of things do you folks like to bring with him? I assume he goes really nicely in PoD, but I really like the idea of bringing Highwaymen or Bushwhackers with him as they both love smite, and I just enjoy both units.

I know it works for Admonition, not entirely sure it does for Enliven off the top of my head, but Countercharge on your beasts with Borka2 might also keep them in range AND give you another free charge attack, the issue then being, are they in range to force still.

With this new realization I'm having with the potential power of light trolls, I'm considering a light beast focused Ragnor list built around spell cycling pulzerizer and casting rage repeatedly. Has anyone tried this on the table? Though I haven't done it myself, I imagine you almost have to when playing Journeyman rules, since you'll have 4 lights in your list. Edit: and on the subject of Axers and Rush, with casters like Borka1 and Doomy2, that extra 2" on top of their feat speed boost leads to some (not always) surprise threat ranges, especially with overtake. Just last week I sent Mulg like a rocket into the enemy line and overtook into Molik Karn, nearly killing him where my opponent thought he was safe. 4-5" is really hard to account for sometimes.

I don't do anything too wild, but I do change the colour of the quitaris, or in the case of my champions, I painted a shoulder or kneepad on each one of them red for some unity, so I will change that up when I get to a second unit.

The nice thing about using the Rover as a babysitter though means you have a fairly heavy lifter for end game when playing for attrition. He's no slouch, that's for sure.

That's the glory of Trollbloods, and came up more often in Mk2 when you could put rage on warrior models. With all our assorted buffs we can stack, you can really pull off some surprise maneuvers. My favourite example (again from Mk2 sadly) was when a stone scribe grunt was able to finish off a Reckoner so that Doomshaper could then charge and finish off a Judicator. Nothing puts the fear of grumpy old trolls into people than that.
Back on the topic of axers though, yeah that axe will get some work done in the right situation.

I brought them to a game recently with Horgle. Solid Ground makes them quite the pain to deal with, and they actually held their own against a unit of Invictors, holding the zone almost entirely by themselves. On feat turn, one or two even got shots into the enemy Hyperion, which boosted 14's are at least contributing. Otherwise, I don't really use them. I would probably prefer to take them over Kriel Warriors though.

I'm toying with a 'for-funsies' list for him in theme that doesn't use the stone, and mostly relies on champs hitting 16 defense on the approach. Not sure how it'll go, but excited to see, should be fun. Warders to help take the heat off the champs. Not sure if I should windwall the Tuffalo on the way in or just launch em up a flank to distract the enemy though.
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Band of Heroes
(Borka 1) Borka Kegslayer [+28] - Pyg Keg Carrier - Rok [21] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] Trollkin Champions (max) [17] - Skaldi Bonehammer [0] Fell Caller Hero [0] Trollkin Warders (max) [17] Trollkin Champions (max) [17] Fell Caller Hero [0] Stone Scribe Chronicler [4] Long Riders (min) [12]

I find the best way is to just consuming flames one of your beasts with the runebearer while all the fire eaters dogpile it. That AOE can't actually hurt them.

It really depends on what you want the heavy to do. Manglers are focus efficient and mulch infantry with the thresher attack, but also hit hard enough to threaten enemy heavies. The Rover on the other hand is very all-rounder between 3 initials, a good damage axe, shield guard, and a gun. Also with an armour buff, it can hold its own in most situations.

I wonder how useful Rok is with Horgle. I know people are fond of him in theme, but I find the idea of lighting people on fire with the assault spray is funny enough for me to want to try. Bonus points if you crit freeze while you do it.
