Hello everyone,
I'm a fairly new player and I've recently been thinking about how to make a list that incorporates models from every single mercenary sub group (except Cephalyx).
So at least one model from privateers, one from dwarves, one from minions and one from each of the rest.
Is it possible to make a semi-viable 75pt list that would be able to do this?
Thanks, Bobrek

Well, Use Kayazy for 4* Syndicate, Forge Guard are Highborne + Rhulic so you got 2 for 1, (use Thorne Gun mages if you want a separate Highborne unit) Aiyana&Holt are pirates, WE&SJ are minions. You can add almost any kind of casters+jacks to this. Btw, I believe you can't cover every subfaction with a single list, because Morrowans and Thamarites have an animosity to each other.

What about a morrowan warjack? Do they have animosity as well, or do they have to have a morrowan caster?

I guess it depends on what you mean by subfaction? Are you talking about the old divisions, or regions/religions in the fluff, or do you mean the current theme forces? It gets dicey if we need all the regions and religions and subfactions (Ordic, and Steelhead, and 4* oh my!), but there are lots of ways to get a diverse list on the table.
TL;DR This non clever individual would like more clarification

Basically by sub-faction I mean all the "group" names on the mercenary cards that are actually written on the card. So like "Mercenary Minion" "Mercenary Rhulic" "Mercenary Tharamite" "Mercenary Morrowan" "Mercenary Privateer" etc Shame I can't use shenanigans to get Morrowan and Theramite together though

I think this is a great idea for a theme. Hmm, I'm not sure on the rules for two-caster games, do animosities still count across the whole army in that case?

Durgen (Rhulic) Pressgangers (Privateer) Ragman (llaelese Thamarite) Halberdiers (Steelhead) Lanyssa (Minion)
Fiona Rockbottom Commodore Wrong eye Not sure what rhulic. She likes high def stuff. Thorvalancher maybe as alternate nonokrion brand target. Ragman Halberdiers Pressgangers
These are also decent lists (as in pretty close to how I'd run them as moderately competitive casters). I wouldn't normally run Thor with Fiona though.

So this may not be super competetive but I don't think I could make a much more diverse list:
War Room Army
Mercenary - Hodge Podge
Theme: No Theme Selected 75 / 75 Army
Captain Damiano - WJ: +28 - Sylys Wyshnalyrr, The Seeker - PC: 4 - Mangler - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15) - Mariner - PC: 14 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13)
Wrong Eye - Wrong Eye & Snapjaw: 17 - Snapjaw Rorsh - Rorsh & Brine: 15 - Brine Gudrun the Wanderer - PC: 5 Rhupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord - PC: 4 Ragman - PC: 4 Gobber Tinker - PC: 2
Greygore Boomhowler & Co. - Boomhowler & 5 Grunts: 11 Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters - Cylena & 5 Grunts: 12

OK never mind I realised I missed Rhulic models from this list! Removed Rhupert as my warcaster is Ordic so already cover that. This list contains: Ordic, Steelhead, Seeker, Privateer, Gatorman, Farrow, Ogrun, Tharamite, Llaelese, Trollkin, Nyss, and Rhulic models The only model type missing is Morrowan due to animosity, otherwise I would have replaced mangler with a morrowan jack! War Room Army Mercenary - Hodge Podge Theme: No Theme Selected 74 / 75 Army Captain Damiano - WJ: +28 - Sylys Wyshnalyrr, The Seeker - PC: 4 - Mangler - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15) - Mariner - PC: 14 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13) Wrong Eye - Wrong Eye & Snapjaw: 17 - Snapjaw Rorsh - Rorsh & Brine: 15 - Brine Gudrun the Wanderer - PC: 5 Ragman - PC: 4 Greygore Boomhowler & Co. - Boomhowler & 5 Grunts: 11 Cylena Raefyll & Nyss Hunters - Cylena & 5 Grunts: 12 Herne & Jonne - Herne & Jonne: 5 GENERATED : 03/18/2017 14:54:53 BUILD ID : 2039.17-03-16

I think that it is cheesy a bit because the only Minion model is Gobber Tinker, though.

That list looks a lot more serious than mine, this looks like it could actually be pretty effective whilst still keeping some of the diversity. Good middle ground! I think I would enjoy trying both lists as I only play for fun currently. Is the rover considered to be better than the mangler? I could fit it into my list if I took the mangler out as I had a point spare

It really depends on what you want the heavy to do. Manglers are focus efficient and mulch infantry with the thresher attack, but also hit hard enough to threaten enemy heavies. The Rover on the other hand is very all-rounder between 3 initials, a good damage axe, shield guard, and a gun. Also with an armour buff, it can hold its own in most situations.

If it is a 2v2, I don't think so (as in 4 players), but for a 2 caster game, I think Animosity would still count as it is a single army. I like the idea of like a bad buddy cop Rush Hour style 2v2 game though with a Morrowan list and a Thamarite list.
