This comparison does seem pretty disheartening, ours have a pretty cool UA though.
Maybe ours will get a looking at when we hit CID some day?

Been thinking about switching the WWM for a second forge seer. Would you recommend this? I would most likely put the destroyer on the jack marshal. The OW list has a spare point as well. Would you recommend swapping a juggy for a kodiak? Alright, I'll address these one at a time: 1. I'd say that depends on what the Widowmaker marksman is there to do in your list. A second Forge Seer will help with focus, definitely. Though this is somewhat complicated by the fact that the marksman can do some things the forge seer can't always, like sit back and capture flags while still doing his job. I am finding SR 2017 to be much more of scenario game than SR 2016 was, so this might be something to consider. I am not sure there is a right answer to this question. But I definitely approve of moving the destroyer to the forge seer (destroyers on forge seers has been the new hotness for me of late). Though I suppose a forge seer on a destroyer could also hang back... hmm 2. Normally I would say yes emphatically (I often bring two kodiaks with the witch). However here it looks like a lot of the anti-armor potential in your list is coming from your jacks, so you may want to keep the harder hitting power offered by the extra juggy. I know you'd normally drop your butcher list when you were expecting armor, but times bad matchups happen and I would probably lean towards having some extra armor cracking potential just to be safe. Feel free to ignore me if you disagree

I am really happy to see you taking Old Witch (she's my favourite ). The Butcher list seems pretty solid to me, though if you've got time to practice before the tournament I might suggest at least trying Saxon out. I have a feeling you are going to be happy with more access to pathfinder in this list. I was going to write that swapping a juggy for a kodiak would leave you one point up, but then I realized you were at 74/75. I would definitely recommend making this change - kodiaks are great in general, but love access to full throttle. The lesser damage compared to the juggernaut is probably something this list can deal with in exchange for the utility a kodiak would provide (clouds to block line of sight to butcher, pathfinder, longer charges, "free" power attacks etc). I've never tried that many Kayazy with the old witch, but if I might suggest tweaking your list a bit. I have two comments: 1. Right now you've got 5 jacks on the Witch, which is cool because they all get apparition . Unfortunately she usually wants to be spending her focus on other things. The Greylord forge seer can help with this, but I might suggest going a step further and giving him one of the jacks, perhaps destroyer (or if you had a second forge seer, behemoth). 2. This one is more on the "something to consider" front. I usually like to have a source of clouds in my old witch list (after all, Zevanna is not the most durable old lady out there). With what you own, I am struggling to find a way to fit a kodiak into your list - but it's definitely my first instinct. Good luck with the tournament!

The way the insider is written, it seems kind of like either they somehow missed Doomies having Spell Ward, or it's intentional and they will be losing it in the theme. Fingers crossed I guess! Or they forgot, it isn't the first time after all. Definitely could have been... I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt

I was hoping they would show us the Man-o-War theme, but what is here seems neat I suppose.

I'll be playing her in a couple games on Monday. Probably one with a weird out of theme list involving shockies, and once into Jaws of the Wolf. Will let you guys know how they go!

I take her to Steamroller's quite frequently, as she is far and away my favourite character in the setting - and that encourages me to try and succeed with her. (I might even pair Old Witch 1 and 2 when the latter is released!)
A few months ago some of us were theorymachining taking Shockies with her a while back, but I never got around to trying it. Though I likely will when the theme drops (if the MOW theme ever drops...), and they were reporting some success. I've been taking a bit of a detour into Skorne lately after a journeyman, but after reporting to my local greylord covenant for reeducation, I am looking forward to continuing my experiments!
In my own experience, I usually play her in Winter Guard Kommand... though as a bit of an oddball, I took her to the South Ontario Open a while back out of theme with some doom reavers and a sniper boat and had quite a bit of success. I wonder how she'd do with Jaws of the Wolf now that Forge Seers are out... hmmm...

I've enjoyed a lot of the stories and novels on their Skull Island expeditions site. Someone linked it a couple posts up, or else I would.
A word of warning though, it seems like the majority of stories on there are still Cygnar, or Cygnar affiliated Mercenary centric. The diversity looks to be improving a bit lately, but if your interests stray too far away from that, you may be disappointed.

This is true, that is what we should be asking. I would have been fine into ghost fleet at least! Turns out neither of the Cryx players brought it though

Part of the problem is that I likely ran the wrong list for this sword of encounter. Another part of it was Asphyxious himself, who spammed cloud walls that limited my movement because of corrosion, blocked line of sight, and as a result forced me to surrender the alpha or the scenario.
Unfortunately swordsmen are one of the things I do not own as of yet, (as are Nihilators for that matter). Perhaps I'll look into them in the future.

Hey Tyrants,
On the weekend it hit up a local-ish tournament with the new SR 2017 rules. Skorne is not the faction I normally take to tournaments, but I've been having fun with them lately so decided to bring them out. I did okay, but Cryx seemed to be out in force. One thing in particularly I had trouble dealing with was Asphyxious 2 in the Dark Host theme. Fortunately I only had to deal with the list once, but eventually I was overwhelmed by 40+ (not counting recursion) banes and lost the game.
After spending a couple days thinking about the game, I'm not really sure there was a whole lot I could have done to change the outcome of the game. Charge lanes and LOSs were blocked by clouds, and the presence of parasite and dark shroud in the list made me hesitant to commit any real armor. Admittedly, Skorne isn't my main faction so I am sure you all know it far better than me, but upon reflection I was hard pressed to figure out any real way of getting a leg up on this kind of threat in the faction (especially within the list of stuff that I own, which is extensive, but mostly lacking duplicates).
I know this theme list is pretty new, but has anyone thought out how best to deal with it? I ended up playing a Winds of Death list into it and finding only minimal success.

Old Witch is still my favourite caster/lock in the game, and she can play a mean control game against the correct targets... Sorscha 1 on the other hand seems to excel against a lot of targets in terms of traditional control, and I've found Malakov's feat really effective at being annoying.
Butcher 3 is good at what I would call "Passive control". He doesn't have any rules that reduce the opponents stats or options... but he sure as hell is a piece that limits the opponents options as they try not to get axe'd. Now that's Khador Kontrol Komrades!

I gotta say, after running him in Winds of Death for a while... I think the most exciting part of this is that playing with Xekaar won't feel like I've tied my hands behind my back!
