He'll be on sale in the PP store on WMW, so no ninja required. Because he's available worldwide he is tournament legal from then.

I have basically the biggest local tournament of the year the same weekend as WMW, so I was just planning on converting a Croak Trapper up to do the job. Plus it meant that my local game store actually got to sell some of the Croak Trappers they have on the shelves

Anyone tried out Mire yet? Considering moving my Rask list around to put the Wrastler on Mire and fill Rask up with Boneswarms...

Anyone tried out Mire yet? Considering moving my Rask list around to put the Wrastler on Mire and fill Rask up with Boneswarms... Not a bad idea. My Super Friends list is only with Dahlia and Wrongeye as the lessers, and a Swamp Horror, Wrastler, and two Boneswarms on Rask. Getting the Rage everywhere I want it and still having Fury left over is a problem. When he drops, I'll take a look and make the swap, see how it plays out.

I've played 3-4 games of a Sturm and Drang Dracodile list, with another couple of games lined up for tonight and tomorrow. It's an interesting list that I'm really enjoying learning to play, and it seems to cover most of Arkadius's weak points really well. Extremely dependent on positioning well though, which is making games on clock a little tricky. My Arkadius list is also going to be subbing out some things to get Mire and a Wrastler into it, but I haven't actually played with that change yet. On paper it shouldn't require quite as much practice as the Sturm and Drang list.

Azahul, am I reading your post correctly that you believe an Arkadius/S+D pairing is viable competitively? If so, what kind of matches do you drop one or the other into?

Azahul, am I reading your post correctly that you believe an Arkadius/S+D pairing is viable competitively? If so, what kind of matches do you drop one or the other into? Pending further testing, but I'm feeling pretty good about it so far. I have a battle report write-up from Friday that I should get done in the next couple of hours with some more thoughts on it, but one of the things I like about the pairing is that both lists feel flexible and capable of handling a wide variety of match-ups. Both have plenty of game into gunlines, for example, in Sturm and Drang's case because of Deceleration and Shield Guards and in Arkadius's case because of his speed, with both helped by Mire's clouds. Both lists are good into battlegroup heavy lists, since both will usually get the alpha strike, Arkadius should be able to ensure there's not much left for the counter-punch and Sturm and Drang can blunt counter-punches pretty effectively with TK and the Feat. Both play well into infantry lists too, between Raw Adrenaline sprays in Arkadius and access to Mat 9 Killing Spree Battle Boars in Sturm and Drang late game and an immune to charges Dracodile bullying the table early game being very difficult to deal with. That generalist nature allows me to drop whichever is best suited in edge case ways to my opponent's pairing. I quite like Sturm and Drang into anything where there's a large number of medium base heavy infantry, because the Blind spray from the Dracodile is phenomenally annoying to opponents and its immunity to charges makes it hard for a lot of heavy infantry to crack it. Plus it diminishes the value of abilities like Tough + Steady, Sanguine Bond, and Martyrdom when the model you're saving is Blind and incapable of doing anything useful the following turn. I'm still not sure that Harbinger specifically is a good match-up seeing as Purification ruins most of Sturm's tricks, but there is some counterplay in there. The big match-up for Sturm that I still need to test is the Gaspy3 9 Slayers game. It's a pretty tricky one but I think there's some potential there, even if I do feel pretty dependent on going first, and I feel like the list will play well into basically anything else Cryx.

I dunno. I like them though for their uptrade capability though. Between a Crocpot, Fury, and Rage they can have respectable output. Swarm and Death Powered can grant resiliency, and whatever their regeneration ability is called, longevitiy. All for 7pts, plus pot, and counting towards freebies in WWFF. Swarm isn't terrible in Rask's billfold either.

Why are boneswarms good with rask? 7 point lights that can hit at p&s 21 from 12 inches away trade up REALLY well. Plus little bonuses like steady and being able to to heal their own aspects outside of rask’s activation and fury load really help him throw out more useful spells.
