Good? I dunno. I like them though for their uptrade capability though. Between a Crocpot, Fury, and Rage they can have respectable output. Swarm and Death Powered can grant resiliency, and whatever their regeneration ability is called, longevitiy. All for 7pts, plus pot, and counting towards freebies in WWFF. Swarm isn't terrible in Rask's billfold either. Makes sense -- I guess the question is are they worth it without the pot?

Without three tokens on them prior to engagment, they go down trivially. I find one pot runs two swarms fine for my tastes, with added value in puppet strings, an occassional gallows, and a precious unit for scoring.

a precious unit for scoring. Sadly the pot is not a warrior model, so the unit is not a warrior unit and only Warrior units can score round zones. The crocpot unit cannot score zones until the pot is dead...

In my Rask lists, the pot tends to be the ONLY unit. Everything else is a solo or warbeast.
Even the crap gator is better than nothing.

Yeah the whole crocpot/spawning vessel issue is ridiculous. The spawning vessel is actually the only piece in the game that can never score any scenario element because the grunts disappear when the pot dies.

Like Ajay29, I owe many an apology as a result of that ruling. I never looked carefully at the card regarding scoring viability. Fault is mine, but designing a model that has no scenario ability is garbage.

Looks like underchief mire is bundled with a pin on the PPstore. I don't want to pay 35$usd for mire. Disappointing.
Will convert with a croak.

I was all set to just use my conversion in games until Mire arrived, but after seeing the actual model... I kinda prefer my conversion? Better pose at least. I highly recommend the Croak Trappers, they're easy to convert. The upright guy just needs the net swapped off, the spear replaced, and a cloak and headdress thrown on top and he makes a pretty darn convincing Mire.
Honestly, I don't even mind the price. I own so many of the Minion models that I'm willing to play with and new releases are so few and far between that I generally just buy anything I think I'll use as it comes out. But I'd like the model I'm paying for to at least look cooler than the conversion I bashed out in 20 minutes.

Tried out Mire last night in the following list;
War Room Army
Minions - Rask + Mire
Theme: Will Work For Food 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Rask - WB: +27 - Gatorman Soul Slave - PC: 0 - Boneswarm - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Boneswarm - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Boneswarm - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Boneswarm - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 6)
Dahlia Hallyr - Hallyr & Skarath: 17 - Skarath Rorsh - Rorsh & Brine: 15 - Brine - Battle Boar - PC: 7 Gatorman Witch Doctor - PC: 4 Orin Midwinter, Rogue Inquisitor - PC: 0 Totem Hunter - PC: 0 Bog Trog Mist Speaker - PC: 4 Underchief Mire - PC: 4 - Blackhide Wrastler - PC: 16 Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron - Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron: 5 Swamp Gobber Bellows Crew - Leader & 1 Grunt: 2
THEME: Will Work For Food
Against a Scaverous Black Industries list running loads of character jacks and Aiaikos/Denny0. The game itself was fine, Rask trading p&s21 bone swarms into expensive jacks. Mire himself was very useful, allowing Rask more freedom in swapping Fury around or recasting Admonition without the risk of going empty on fury. Gonna mess around with Rask’s battlegroup and try him out more, is there really any better choice than a Wrastler on Mire?

The battle boar doesn't play well with bone swarms so is an unusual choice.

It’s more for guaranteeing whatever Brine alpha’s is achieved. If it’s def 12 or higher I’ll lose a pow from rage but have the extra Mat from primal. Too many times have I thrown Brine away for nothing because he failed to hit consistent 6’s...

Anyone looked into any dojo with Mire and Jaga? Croak Raiders with Weald Secrets should be nice. Adding a Spitter should be just fine, walk up and spit and then throw up clouds in front of the spitter. That should keep it safe when not reaping arm-bonus from Battle-Host...

Adding a Spitter should be just fine, walk up and spit and then throw up clouds in front of the spitter. That should keep it safe when not reaping arm-bonus from Battle-Host... I've looked into it a bit. Weald secrets on the croak raiders is awesome and will really help them hit. Couple it with S&P and they should be able to hit almost everything on the table.
There is a module that you can run that maxes out 3 freebies (if you choose to go that route) it is this:
Sac Vault Max 16 point unit +void leech x2 (can be either GMP or raiders) Min Ambushers + void leech
The above equals 60 points exactly and would benefit from Mire tossing weald secrets on either unit a unit of raiders or the Vault itself. The rest of the list is the 3 free solos and 15 remaining points + WBPs.
Not sure about just the spitter on Mire, that will only net you 3 fury a turn. The issue that I keep running into when building a list with Mire iswhat beast(s) to put on him. The cheapest way to get him up to 4 fury each turn is to toss two bull snappers onto him. Next would be a snapper+boneswarm, boneswarm x2 (but this really needs the croc pot to do anything), then it is just a wrastler. Boneswarms are an easy way to proc stealth with attuned spirit. Wrastler is really nice for a free rage each turn, bull snappers are cheap and give him a bit extra armor.
