Oh yeah. I only remember Croak Trappers exist when I see them sitting all lonely on the shelf at the local game stores.
But like I said, just bringing Rage to the table with pig Warlocks almost guarantees him a niche barring either a ridiculously high personal point cost (probably 6+), or some kind of crippling disadvantage.

I mean, he'll probably be a free option in the themes he's allowed in, so a high point cost isn't really a huge issue. Maybe's he's speed 0 and has a special rule allowing him to be targeted by friendly power attacks, so you have to throw him upfield? That might be enough of a disadvantage, though I'd probably put him on the table just to play FrogBall...

Ugh, Croak Trappers. They kept being flagged in the CID, and PP said 'No guys, these are good.' Hey look, they aren't good. I use friggin' Lylyth3 and they don't make the cut.
I'm really hoping he brings something interesting to the table rather than a RageBot too. He'll have to, to be interesting in non-Minions. A useful solo and a strong heavy instead of battle boars? Yes, please!

Thanks to the way Wrongeye, Rorsh, Dahlia, and Brun work all the Minion (and Merc) themes specifically call out models with the Lesser Warlock rule as being ineligible to take for free. And since he's not going through CID for any inefficiency that may cause to be pointed out I don't see it as likely that an exception will be made. On the plus side, as pointed out earlier, at least he'll count towards free points in WWFF.

Honestly, in their shoes I wouldn't bother. There's no broken interaction being fixed and it's hardly a bad thing if a solo's point cost is actually a relevant balancing mechanism for once. Making the already somewhat lengthy clauses in the relevant theme forces even clunkier and issuing an errata for all four (from memory) to fix something that isn't even a problem? I dunno. They might. It would certainly have at least come up in a CID. But I wouldn't count on it. Denny0 already exists as a journeyman solo who must be paid for so Mire wouldn't even be the only one.

Seriously awesome. Overjoyed at the minion swampies (especially for extra Helga feat turn nonsense). 6" of corroding clouds is fantastic (and should synergize well with the random splatter clouds). Poison spear is going to be occasionally hilarious with Midas and Helga. Also being able to take on the pathfinderbot role from the witchdoc is fantabulous.

Yeah, I'm currently trying to work out whether I replace the Croc Doc with Mire in my Arkadius list, or if it's Hutchuck who bites the dust. Two sources of Pathfinder and retaining the ability to ignore free strikes is a pretty big enabler for Arkadius assassinations, but Hutchuck does some good work pushing opponents into the centre of the board. Tough decisions.

Weald secrets also has some pretty significant synergy with Rorsh, Valks, and Boomies, and isn't trivial on the Meatthresher's gun either

Weald secrets also has some pretty significant synergy with Rorsh, Valks, and Boomies, and isn't trivial on the Meatthresher's gun either I quite like the idea of it in Arkadius. I think I currently like the idea of this set-up, though as mentioned there's a real chance I'll trade out the Witch Doctor for Hutchuck again: Arkadius -War Hog -War Hog -Road Hog -Road Hog -Gun Boar -Splatter Boar -Gorax -Targ Mire -Wrastler Witch Doctor Mist Speaker Kwaak and Gub Gobber Chef With Weald Secrets and Lucky Shot on the Gun Boar (and access to Guidance) it becomes a pretty phenomenal sniper. With Raw Adrenaline and Ancillary Attack, it can fire out two of these boosted Rat 7 Hunter Eyeless Sight shots a round. Very hard to stay safe.
