You can find the round-by-round details here, but I haven’t gone through to see who the top 4 players were. At a glance, many individuals seem to have gone 5-0. I’m still curious to see faction v. faction and warcaster w/l records. I’m trying to compile it, but ... time

Does anyone know the top 4 winning players and army lists? I was the Cygnar player on Team Top of 2 Grab a Brew. Happy to answer any questions.

I want to love it, but I'm still lost. How are you liking it? Any tips on mastering Siege2? Any highlights from your games with him since he was what you played most?

Definitely curious about the Blockhouse, haven't seen anyone else really interested in it but it seems like a neat model.
Is there a particular thought process behind not bringing the trencher long gunners while everyone else was?

What baffles me the most is that noone played Rahn, he is an excellent caster. I'll admit, I was a little surprised by this, but not shocked. Rahn is pure magic, and with Eilish out plus easy access to a fair bit of spell hate, he's no longer a natural pick. The main theme that he "works" in is pure spell casting, which facilitates his control game, plus a smattering of battlegroup beatdown. This is surprisingly easy to counter. If he was a spellslinger by himself, that wouldn't be a problem, but it's because the House Shyeel BattleMages are borderline mandatory with him for it to work, and there's enough in the game that's a big no against them that Rahn-Forges is a bit of a no-go at the moment. Personally, though, I find this a tad puzzling, since to the back end of MkII there was Fires From on High and quite a few Ret players advocated not bothering with HSBM at all and merely having a couple HS solos. So, I've been pondering Rahn in Defenders with Nyss, Priests for feat stuff, even Battle Wizard-ing it if I'm feeling fancy, and up to three permanently unchargeable huge bases lined up giving an enemy melee battle line the finger (Carapace on two of them, three Arcanists behind the third). Make Nyss Hunters unchargeable, and leg them up the board, if they're jammed... oh looky, Priests spray under feat (Sylys on Rahn makes this viable, as he can TK/Hammer whenever he likes) unjam them and they run off to do what they want, then whatever else is in the list comes up to exert board presence. Harpies to feature, perhaps. Still, there's an argument for not bothering when cloud wall seems huge these days... BUT... isn't that why we have Kaelyssa, Issyria, Vyros1, Vyros2...? I remember after the inaugural MkIII London event, Pat Dunford pointed out in post comp analysis that three of the four caster solutions against Wurmwood were Ret...! Colour me confused... even if then was then and the game has come quite a long way since then. That said, the push for themes has meant that access to key synergies has stymied the faction's overall flexibility at the list-build stage as others have mentioned, hence why virtually every list pair has some variation of double Halbs Defenders in it (and if it doesn't, that player isn't winning against any equal opposition). Consequently, I find myself a touch conflicted. Also, never mind that, I find it funny that (based on appearances only), you who has the Menofix avatar asks this when your faction has the most spell hate out there! ;p This is a team event where people are more able to tailor their lists for certain match ups to take as much advantage of the pairing system in place. These lists become skewed in how they play and who they are actually good against. If you are comparing this to your personal meta or some of the other non-team events out there, then it's not the best comparison. Comparing to the WTC or past ATCs is the best comparison out there. Dan Porter on the Ret FB page made an accurate comment regarding the ethos of the American local communities compared to European, Australian and even Canadian communities IMO, in that American teams (specifically, teams rather than individuals) will attempt to skew as hard as they can to ensure better match-ups, while Europeans in particular will go for take-all-comers primary lists. This relates to Ret where as a primarily 'answering' faction, Ret skews comparatively badly and it is essentially impossible to answer all questions in two lists. So the apparently shit showing can be explained by a lack of good match-ups for teams' resident Ret player, so they get given the crappy match to gun for a lucky assassination if nothing else and hope for the best. Hence why WTC performance (I think it was 41% win ratio for Ret) is a better indication as it brings in cultural variation in approach to the game, not just being a much larger sample. So, as a faction, I believe Ret is... actually OK. A bottom half, faction, certainly, but nowhere near as bad as the ATC stats make it out to be. Ret just happens to be a relatively poor choice of faction to take at team tournaments. Ret does need a Vyre Jack theme in the worst way. What did you have in mind? There's been a couple discussions on the FB Ret group about this, curious as to how you'd envision this...

Someone did a detailed breakdown of caster and faction win percentages here. Thoughts?

I just woke up so this may not be the most profound answer in the world but.... I would structure the theme like irregulars gaining points toward free stuff for every 25pts of jacks and units. Obviously don't allow Shyeel casters, (which I think is just Heylenna and Rahn) Shyeel units, solos, AFG. Disallow Mage Hunter units and solos, Dawngaurd Units and solos and House Ellowuyr Units and solos. Allow Houseguard units and solos, House Vyre everything, Nyss units and solos, Arcanist Mechaniks, Ghost Snipers. Free solo for every 25points of units and jacks. Free upkeeps for spells on House Vyre models/units. Heavy jacks gain Reposition 3". I'd like the Vyre heavy chassis to get an update though, mostly in the gun department. Banshee is good at pow14 but the Sphynx and Daemon should get moved up to 14 as well. Then they'll be decent value heavies in my opinion. Right now those guns are just sad. Obviously I'd love to see Vyre get a CiD + new release treatment, but that's quite a bit off certainly. I think this'll do till then.

Someone did a detailed breakdown of caster and faction win percentages here. Thoughts? I think I'm the only Xerxis2 player with wins and the only Skorne player who won into Cryx... Clearly we've crossed into the twilight zone. Well, those other X2 lists were kinda janky.

I was the Cygnar player on Team Top of 2 Grab a Brew. Happy to answer any questions. Whyyyyyyy the Blockhouse? I want to love it, but I'm still lost. How are you liking it? Any tips on mastering Siege2? Any highlights from your games with him since he was what you played most? The Blockhouse was there to give Haley and her echoes a guaranteed trench. The secondary benefits are improved recursion game and a very good gun. Not sure I would keep the Blockhouse in the list in the future, but the list was teched specifically to deal with Issyria double strike force. As for Siege2, he's not particularly hard to play. His main strength (in my mind) is his versatility, particularly with my list. It shoots very well, it melees extremely well, it is survivable, and it has a very strong scenario game. The synergies are incredibly obvious. Really, unless someone has some specific tech that counters the list (like Nemo3 with all the leaps, or maybe Lucant Double TEP or pHexeris level tech), I feel pretty good about it into most matchups. It can and will get the alpha strike in most matchups, it can and will crack armor, it won't be easy to kill any of the models, it has 3 ranged grievous wounds shots (and Finn has GW in melee), the Commandos have Anatomical Precision, it has 3 very accurate Thunderbolt shots, Siege has Ram on his hammer and a 3" push spell, it has potent guns and mass stealth-removal tech. Oh, by the way, it can cloud wall, it can be very resistant to blast damage, it has 3 shield guards, it is very mobile, and Siege has Razor Wall which is sweet for area denial. Lastly, he's very fun to play. Literally, what more do you want from a list? Frankly, I'm baffled as to why more people have not been playing him.

Longstanding order by Ghyrrshyld. "As for my House, we shall respect elf bro's before elf ho's. Especially those soulless Shyeel Female Doges." That's why she's not allowed in theme.
