I'm confused. People keep mentioning free points. Horthol can't be taken as free points as far as I know. HORGLE can.
I would love to know I'm missing something.

Does the electro leap generated off of a magic weapon have the magic damage type(ex Jakes2)? I thought not but was hoping someone could confirm.

Yeah I was referring to the PoD list with Gunnbjorn with a mauler and 6 or more ice/winter trolls in whatever combination feels good. The boosted sprays will hopefully clear a lot of immortals or stationary them at least. The incorporeal might be an issue but you could hot swap explosivo around and maybe bring a mist speaker. Last resort could be a stone scribe elder but then you're giving up the extra cold damage. If you go into double animantaraxes, the feat turn might help you survive and get some board positioning. Sneaking in a basher or two could be really helpful against their heavies if you can get the crit and if they know about it to be decoys(7 point lights are great!).
Its weakness is going to be dealing with heavy armor but if you can buy yourself time and get some lucky crits, you could whittle them down with the ice trolls over time.
Its something to brainstorm over anyway.

I actually just played an IM list into a Tharn list with free corpse tokens last night. **SHOCKER** I never used hyper-aggressive once!! lol I definitely agree letting models gain a soul/corpse would be a very welcome change.

Madrak2. Feat for the immortals list and Blood Fury to get all the fast weapon masters into the beast list? This was the first thing that popped into my mind. Maybe Gunnbjorn with boosted sprays or high pow ice trolls?

So if I'm reading that right, she can heal herself after using ToL with ME. I don't actually mind her being mostly passive as that's one support model I don't have to worry about order of activation for. Is she still 7 points with those abilities?

I think she needs a command range passive "models not affected by grevious wounds or entropic force" and a spell that gives a warrior model/unit rapid healing. I would also like to see her have some kind of fury management ability for warbeasts. I think this would balance her against Circle and Trolls because of her being partisan Trollbloods. Or she needs to be able to martyr more than once a turn and have access to some kind of personal healing(Hyper-Regen?). Something to make her more active and not just hope your opponent doesn't know what she does and falls into your hands.

Can someone explain to me why they are letting the faction that worships the Devourer Worm use the freaking avatar of Dhunia? From what I remember they don't get along too well. They can't make her "the best support in the game" without making Circle that much better...
All of her abilities are just so corner case. If they other player has gw or no soul collection then she doesn't do diddly. And coming from a Cryx perspective, outside of a few jacks and the casters the -2 ability doesn't really affect me. She can't be healed by the DK or Mads1 because she isn't living.
Unless they bite the bullet and make her Trollbloods only, she won't be the silver bullet that lifts the faction back up. She's just another so-so support model we will have to decide if we feel like playing while we are waiting out the next TB CID.

cplmustard : I was worried about that as well, but it hasn't been an issue for me yet: Cast Mirage on himself for further threat range on the Mortality. Reposition 3 back after he is done, and if neccesary Krump lays down the trap. Usually he activates first, so you can put models in front of him after Mortality and/or feat is out. 13'' away from what you probably killed because of Mortality on it is decent imo. I always play Grim2 with Bonegrinders just for that little extra cushion.

Gamingdevil I feel your pain. My 3 main factions(Trollbloods, Cygnar, Cryx) are all in the same boat. People are just not excited about them and that makes it easier to get down on them. I do not envy the people at PP trying to keep everyone happy. I've been diving into Cryx for the past 3 months and its been pretty rough. All the new shinies have so much RFP and "I steal all your souls/corpses" or "I don't have any souls/corpses" that I can't play the models I wanted to(Revenants/Thralls/Banes). So yes, when you negate healing and tough, I totally get why troll players are down right now. BUT even though I don't get to "do what I want" in games by stacking souls or getting a bunch of tough rolls, I still find if I honestly look back at the games, I usually still lose because I didn't play what I had to its full potential. So I honestly think that Trolls/Cryx/Cygnar can win with new innovative lists if they just put the time in on them as dickovdk mentioned. That said, it is definitely time for them to come around and give these factions a lift. Feels like nothing but Skorne and Circle for faaaaaaar to long! ;-)

The real question is how much of that can you do during a counterchange! ;-p

I played a Ragnor POD list at the beginning last year I really liked. Involved 2 bashers, 2 night trolls, a bouncer, a slag, a brawler and Mulg. With pulverizer, Mulg and the Brawler could handle most armor and the lights could even do good work. Crit stagger on the bashers really surprised people as did the paralysis on the night troll. You can bring one or two units of whelps to help with zones/flags and fury management(although I usually just banked on which beasts would likely die by the next turn).

I was just about to buy some Cryx models when I read this on 1d4chan "but Cryx is still the most powerful faction in tournament play. Cryx wins more than twice as many tourneys as any other faction (though this may be in part due to Cryx being the most popular), and has no shortage of ways to crush any style of opposing army." That was unfortunate because I am not looking for a popular faction and also not something OP´ed. But the models are really looking good. I just went to a 40 person tournament and was the only Cryx player.

I stick to the human mercs as far as casters, have hammer dwarves of course.
I do have one player in my meta that has soley played dwarves(Ossrum) lately although he does still have some trolls.

Deller , thanks for that, that's really helpful. I'm not sure if that Sucker! + Sacrificial Pawn interaction works that way though. Neither of them specify once per turn, so wouldn't Sucker! keep bouncing? The only thing I can find on it is a vague MKII ruling that says they can only transfer once, but I'm not sure how the rules as written support that interpretation. skurkious Deathbound says to put returned models near the Leader model, so if that model is removed from play, it does not get promoted and the unit effectively loses the ability to use Deathbound. Hmm, I didn't realize he was a LEADER ala the Krielstone or the Storm Rod Stormblade. But I also could have sworn that there was a ruling that RFP only worked on a leader that was under an officer. But the rules seem to pretty clearly agree with your statement. Seems like bad game experience to let a mechanic like that get shut down so trivially but I guess...
