I was planning on playing Karchev this weekend at a Steamroller. So, using only released models I own I'm leaning towards one of these.. Thoughts?

Well the thread is interesting.. I took a look at this theme force and thought the winterguard theme force was just straight up better for jack spam, but there are some valid points here. Still sac pawn in Khador is hard to pass up.
I was thinking 2 free manhunters would be good, but honestly its a jack theme and you're gonna get two free forge seers instead, and then what.. underboss? Still all better buys than yuri and friends.
The AD benefit is crushing to some and will do nothing other times, where the Advance move was always a benefit. I also don't see the point in moving our bad mechanics 3 inches back where they will still die if someone looks at them crosseyed, 3 inches forward would be some kind of suicide run.
I guess bottom line if your caster isn't going to get shot to death, kayazy can be better in a lot of ways than winterguard as jack support.
Still, a lot more meh about this theme than the other one, and I'm definitely alot more meh than the OP.
Maybe after I sleep on it some amazing awesomeness will dawn on me.

I think one guy to think about is Andy2. He is going to love Kayazy ANYWAY and it going to also love some jacks. The question I guess is seeing what your ideal Andy2 list is (I am still trying to really wrap head around him) and then go. But you know who might like this theme the most? old witch 2 who is going to LOVE spaming boundless charge. The free things might work with her.

Edit: The question is.. do I care about an 11.5" threat manhunter.. not sure if I do.. especially when its going to be hard to apply it from as far back as she wants to be.

There was a battle report about trying to spam Boundless Charge on Infantry Solos and the results where sub par.
Either they were using the Length Extension and so it wasn't Spamable, or using the Focus reducer so it wasn't Very far away or it was feat turn and you probably wanted to load up your warjacks.

Solid lists all. I'd say the first one has the most potential, solid shooting for free moves, but not too much invested in it. The behemoth is now a more solid choice for Karchev, but it might still be worth fitting more jacks instead of him... That said, I would play him as well . Also a Deva is never wrong, in any list imo. Damn, want to play but I'm way above the Arctic Circle atm with 80 cm of snow around and my figures are like 1000 km away ... True Khador land

The more I think about it the more I like the marshalled Behemoth+2 free Seers combo. 2 focus + marshall bonus is essentially a full load that you get for free. And you can put any upkeep on top of it. And you get magical weapons and blessed. I would probably even play it with Karchev despite his battlegroup buffs, Behemoth is usually the last thing you commit anyway when feat is used up already. Still all better buys than yuri and friends. You get 4 free solos though in pure jackspam, that's a lot of free solos. The main difference from WG theme is that you can go pure jackspam and still get bonuses. WG needs you to take about 20-30pts of stuff to get that Advanced move. And free Advance move pathfinder solos you get combined with no AD lessen the impact of not getting Advance deploy on jacks by helping you to not get shut out on mission. I think the crutch is the ability of caster to operate without Sac pawn/Shield guard. Karchev, OW, Strakhov, Malakov can do it. Maaaybe B3 with Ragers. Others can't. Now if you could fit Mechaniks and Behemoth in the same list I'd like it even more.

I don't know, i'm not so convinced about this theme. Probabily kharchev is the only one that can benefit from it.
I would prefer to have free mechs instead of free manhunters, it seems too... not thematic to me. I don't know.

Actually, please go to the Creepy thread chat thread and do that :-) I could fit Behemoth and mechanics in the same list, but not with 8 jacks sadly. Yes, I could turn a Kodiak into a Marauder, but I don't own 3 Kodiaks! And, I believe in taking Kodiaks in pairs. They mate early on, and it's not nice to break up the set. I am still somewhat dumbfounded that I get to spam jacks and take cool free solos. I really should try to fit Yuri in with those Manhunters... it will be like old times.

You have a SPD6 colossal with MAT8 that shoot 2 random 5" fire AoE per turn, torch to remove stealth and use overrun. The behemoth bombards became POW 16 magical weapons with POW 9 blasts, and still have a decent melee game with 3 initials with POW14 armorpiercing and a threat range of 12".
Mechanics repair the vic, behemoth and forgeseer, strakh keep occultation on itslef and can cast sentry on vic and superiority on Torch, or both on the colossal.
The seer empower the behemoth so you boost attack and damagerolls, or they help Vic or torch in the charge turn.
The eliminators and the marksman are stealth models that can hurt. They can became 2 manhunters, maybe better for pathfinder and AD.

I don't own Z2 or enough mechaniks to try this but if I read her feat correctly it allows immediate spell or special action. So the machaniks could all walk up and repair, Z2 feats and and they all get another repair? That's a whole lot of boxes back. There's also plenty of sac pawn targets.

I'm afraid that Zerkova's feat only allows models to cast spells without using special actions, not actually use special actions.
