I also got a job at my local California State University of Cal Poly. Which is dope, since I already help out with the three day gaming convention that the campus gaming club puts on every year, PolyCon. This year was PokyCon 40, and I ran 24 hours of a paint and take room, over the course of two days. We also figured out this year that PolyCon is probably the oldest continually running gaming convention around. Unless there's some other tiny local con that doesn't get much press and has been running for more than 40 years out there. Congrats on the job! This forum is completely dead these days; I don't think anyone has posted in weeks, maybe months. I think the new PP community hub was the final nail in the coffin for Lormahordes. So check that out if you haven't. I saw you guys talking about that. I hadn't heard about it. I've gone ahead and made an account. To bad they went with the discord model, instead of an actual forum. Better than nothing I guess.

Is it weird that Butcher4's shirtlessness makes me want to paint him like he has tank top tan lines? SO HEY TESOE DID YOU EVER DO THAT? Oh hey, that's a good idea. I hope I remember it if I ever buy a Butcher4. I just saw the new armored winter guard with shotguns and thought I'd pop in. Sorry that game of AT went poorly, but those boxes and jack parts look dope. I'm right this moment printing some chicken legs that I think I'm going to make into Baba Yaga's dancing cell phone stand. Also seriously thinking about printing a "Wardog" just for fun. I recently got to play Battletech for the first time. It was Alpha Strike. It wasn't really what I was looking for. To small of a model count on the board, and the units all felt very samey, expect for the occasional bonkers good one that was throwing off the curve. From what the guy that ran it said, it seems like classic Battletech fixes those issues, but also adds three truck loads of rules and complexity that I don't think I have the energy for anymore. That looks nice. I really need to learn a 3d design program. So I can design my own models for printing.

We successfully made characters! And made plans to meet next week for another session! My favorite part of explaining the lore and some of the factions is the history of the Aunic people. They left Earth in one of The Ten. The sublight generation ship sent out to spread humanity when earth was dying. They spent 60 generations traveling. Hearing about how their ancestors had left a dying world to deliver them to a world that was just for them. A litteral promised land, where life would be good and bountiful. 60 generations of knowing with certainty that they or their descendants would someday arrive at a virtual Eden, set aside just for them. And with no way of knowing if they were the last of humanity or not. So they finally arrive and there's already a colony there. In the time it took to arrive Earth recovered, society rebuilt itself, they developed near light speed ships, found old star charts of habitat worlds, and a near light speed colony ship to the planet. They've been living there for a hundred years already. Oh, and they told the Aunic people they couldn't move in when they arrived. It didn't go over well. I hope some media report on the planet accused your generation ship travelers of coming to steal their jobs. The book doesn't say, and it's not my ship. It's just one of the things that happened in the background of the game's setting. It was like four thousand years before the current date also.

In other news, hobby progress has stalled. I screwed up on the model I wanted to give my friend, so I've been stripping the paint so I can start again. I'm also having issues painting the dice boxes I printed; I tried to use an ink, but it ran between the print layers in some places, so I was trying to fix that. I've had that happen. It's why I now prime all my prints before painting. It can actually sorta work to your advantage if you're trying to make something look like wood.

That is a sweet looking box! Sorry about the printer though.
Looks like I'm finally going to get to run a game of Lancer on Sunday. Now to finish scrambling to get ready, and get as many of the rules crammed into my brain as possible.

(I am still around. I have nothing new or meaningful to add.) Oh, hey: there was a MonPoc errata and MK IV errata and I guess there will be guaranteed annual updates in January now. Also I would like to purchase a Winter Korps box. Also all the MK IV complainers on Facebook are dumb and keep saying generally dumb things. Spoilers: Privateer isn’t going to completely revamp unit movement and reintroduce unit leaders and all that junk just because it’s new and scary to you! But, no, by all means, the dozen of you should keep forming your own echo chambers. That’s cool and not at all harmful to the community. That sounds "fun." Between MKIV and the OGL, I'm glad I don't use Facebook much.

Sorry if I came on strong. I wasn't trying to hang up on you. It's a topic worth discussing overall.
As for a different topic, how about that sportsball. I hear there was a competition and a team claimed victory over another team.

I'm wish Michael on this. Giving out the files for minis just hurts the company making them. And in the case of a company as small as PP, that's bad for the community.
If we were talking about a bigger company, with a history of being unpleasant, that might be different.
This remins me I need to clean my printer and get started on that Wardog Titan I want to print as a painting project.

Steelheads an MoWs are probably the most tempting thing for me.

I'd be tempted to get something in the sale, but it just feels kinda pointless.

Huh. The PP Black Friday sale is still going on, and the Khador bundle no longer includes a warjack. Also if you search for Khador in the Warmachine section there are only 3 models now. If you actually search for Khador using the search field, you will find more, but the Juggernaut and Spriggan kits are out of stock. Probably the tagging on the site is wrong nd they're running out of jacks for the bundles.

The World Cup would be much more engrossing if the announcers were Bobby “the Brain” Heenan and Jesse “the Body” Ventura. Maybe throw in Mean Gene Okerlund for good measure. I can't get into any sportsball to begin with. Fifa being openly corrupt and all the infrastructure for this world cup having been built with slave labor just really kills it even more.
