Sorry, I'm confused: who is that we're insulting? Facebook users, or Warmachine players? Either way, what a bunch of morons! How dare some of them express opinions! Let's belittle them all behind their backs! That'll show 'em! Hot damn! Let me get my belittling pants on!

Just follow my plan.
Buy an army box. Scan all the minis. 3D printer duplicates of the minis. Use those to make molds. Melt down all your legacy minis and use the material in the molds.
Now you have... Two of the same army... Actually, hold on to that thought. I think my math might be wrong.

And if anyone has any advice on how to paint something to look like obsidian, I'm all ears. Dunno, black with some highlights and a VERY thick coat of gloss varnish? I was thinking about something like that actually. Maybe a thick layer of gloss, a layer transparent black, and then more thick gloss. Might give it the appearance of depth.

I hear you. I haven't had a painted model to show off in, like, half a year or more. I often watch miniature painting videos while painting, but these days it's starting to depress me; they make it look so fast, cranking out finished models in, I dunno, a couple of hours maybe - the last video I watched last night he explicitly stated that it was less than 2 hours of painting, and the model was at least as good as most of the stuff that takes me an order of magnitude longer. Well, at least I finished the first basecoat (that I started almost two weeks ago) on 5 out of 9 MOW models yesterday. Four more, then I can start on the second basecoat... I joke with my friends that the more experienced I get in a hobby, the longer it takes me to do anything. Because I learn all the extra steps I need to do to make the final product look better. I never seem to learn any of the shortcuts ðŸ˜

Oh, I see! I thought you made a lightsaber from Lego, not a Lego lightsaber! OK, that is pretty cool. Honest mostly. It would be neat to make a blade for it. There's plenty of internal area to put a battery and LEDs. Maybe a thought for a "version 3." Version 2 would be one scaled up enough to make it more correct to how minifigs hold them. I probably won't get around to something like that until after I've finished a couple other printing projects. The next one being a dice tower someone made from a scan of an actual animal skull. I play a lot of necromancers, so I want to try and make it look like obsidian. I had to chop it up a bunch to fit.on my print bed though. So that might be an issue. And if anyone has any advice on how to paint something to look like obsidian, I'm all ears.

Thanks! I try to remember to check these forums every so often. Chatting with you all used to be a big part of my day, but with me just not doing much in terms of hobbies, muchess warmahordes, I just don't have a lot to input.

Nice! Did the lightsaber have a "blade"? Was that made from Lego too? You know, what, just post some photos, I want to see it. When you say Spider-Men, are they action figures or like MCP models? No blade. Just a 3D print. The Spider-Men are Marvel Legends figs. I made a couple Instagram posts, so I'll link to those if you want to see pictures. http://instagram.com/p/ClPP26WyEMC http://instagram.com/p/ClJzwxPPedH I actually had a bunch of issues with the paint on the lightsaber. It worked in the end, but isn't as chrome as I want it. It also is smaller than I think it should be. I may be another one to satisfy my inner perfectionist.

I painted something yesterday! Go me!
It was a life sized Lego lightsaber I made as a gift for a friend. His reaction was priceless. I handed it to him and he kept saying "oh that's cool!" Over and over, but each time louder and more visibly excited. Like his brain was processing what it was in stages.
I also got out my magnets from when I was magnetizing minis, and glued some to my Spider-Men. Now I have a variety of Spider-Men hanging from vents and other surfaces.

So Cygnar just straight up has man portable rail guns now. I feel like this is one of those things that is both bad ass, and also raises way to many questions if you think about it to long.

On Primecast, they confirmed Steelheads, Cephalyx, Gators, Farrow, Rhul, and all the other limited factions and sub factions will be getting armies in MK4. So I'm happy. There's also a preview of the GenCin box. home.privateerpress.com/2022/08/02/preview-battlegroups-at-gen-con-and-online-thursday/I really like that it looks like there's a Dozer Gun, Rip Saw, Bombard, Ice Axe, Executioner Axe, and the Grolar's arm gun in there, plus new stuff. Feels a lot more familiar than I expected.

I just read over the sorta FAQ they put out on MKIV. Sounds like everything they're doing is a good business decision, and I hope it leads to a healthier game and a healthier PP in general.
Flip side, with them only committing to two legacy armies per faction, I'm concerned most of my models are going to be useless. I'm especially concerned about groups like the Gatormen, Cephalyx, and Steelheads. Those latter two I've been using since I got started in the game. Especially the Steelheads. Butcher1 with Steelheads was my go to MK2 army. I'm also concerned about the loss of all our incredibly flavorfor characters like Butcher, Cain, Madhammer, and such.

My GF pointed out the new jack has a kitty on its crotch. Now I can't unsee it. I'm not sure how I feel about MK4. At least people will stop speculating it's coming. I hadn't played for a couple of years before the pandemic. So I'm not sure if I'll even bother learning a new edition. The new models all look great, but that's not going to be enough to fix the transportation issues that were keeping me out of the game store to begin with. Bring the game store to you! Play in your home! (I'm pretty interested, bordering on excited, so far.) Not really an option. I don't know anyone who is still playing.
