Good job with those wires. Using a comb if really inspire too.
I tried to get something printed today, but resin got onto the screen protector and hardended. Oh course I scratched the screen protector trying to get it off too. So now I have to wait for a new screen protector. At least it did it job and kept resin off the screen.

I had a bad night and woke up in a bad mood this morning. So I to cheer myself up I assembled a couple of cool but straight-forwards models from my backlog: I might put together a couple more Riotquest models today. We'll see. I've almost finished a big conversion I've been working on for a while, I'm in the final bits of greenstuff work right now, hopefully I'll have photos later today or tomorrow. Those are some nice samurai. What are they from? I'm also curious how you did that lightsaber. I assume the hands and hilt are 3d printed. I didn't see any wires though. Did you perhaps carve out a space under the shield on the back for the batteries?

Grymkin got a whole faction, after all! yeah, I just wasn't expecting so many in the book. I figured it'd be a later expansion type thing. I'm happy about it though. I was thinking about making Slaads the big bads for the campaign. I think I like Grymkin better though.

It's so weird coming in here and seeing the "junior strategist" tag under my name. Like, Female Dog, I started this thread. I guess that's what I get for being a barely social recluse. (Hisses at the sun) Anyways, I was looking through the new Monstermonicon, and there are a lot of Grimlin in there. More than I expected. I think I know what the overarching plot in my DnD game is going to be now.

My physical rewards arrived today! The binding on the main book could be better, but other than that everything seems fine. The GM screen is nice. If one whole panel wasn't setting specific information I think I'd use it as my go to 5E GM screen. Gonna crack open the Monstermonicon tomorrow and see what juicy things are in there.

That's what happened to Bleach. The author planned for it to end with the Soul Society arc, but it was super popular and the publisher asked them to keep going. So they did, until the plot got so janky people stopped reading it and the publisher abruptly cancelled it.
I'm running a 5E game now, and I back both the new IKRPG Kickstarters, so I've been looking over the PDFs. My players are mostly new or have only a little experience with RPGs. So I think I'll hold off on the mechazombies and whatnot for now, but I am liking what I see. Gunmage, Gunslinger, and the firearms rules are what I've looked at the most, and they seem fairly solid. I kinda like how the streamlined nature of 5E makes things like reloading times less of a pain in the butt. The game designers on 5E really seems to have learned a lot from past editions.

A friend of mine has a 3D printing business called Isekai Heavy Industries. I think they do commissions, but I'm not really sure. Otherwise, shapeways is the only printing service I know of.

Well, the manual should have all that info in it anyway, so don't worry about it. Interesting question about the temperature. It doesn't get too cold around here so I don't know if that will be an issue. I will say that I don't like to print overnight myself, and I usually don't need to; most stuff I print for miniatures will finish before I go to bed if I start them early in the morning. Pausing a print overnight is an option too, though I'm paranoid enough to prefer not to do it if I can avoid it. I hadn't thought about pausing. That wasn't an option on the filament printer I've been using.

I'm trying some of Elgoo's water washable resin to start. It seems to have good reviews. I haven't gotten around to trying water-washable resin, but it sounds great - should make cleanup much easier! When my current bottles of resin run out, I'll look into it. I've also heard of non-toxic resin, but I don't think that's the same thing?
I hadn't thought about getting left over resin back in the bottle. Is the filter to catch random bits of hardened resin that might be in the reservoir? Yes, you are always going to pour more resin in the vat than you need, so you'll want to pour it back into the bottle. Printers usually come with a few coffee-filter-style filters (actual coffee filters can work depending on the filter, but take much longer) so you can filter out small bits of cured resin that might potentially end up back in the bottle otherwise. If you level the bed, pour some resin and it has some solid chunks in it, then the bed lowers down to print the first layer, those solid chunks can end up cracking your LCD screen, so it's important to always keep the bed and resin clear of solid bits. That all makes sense. Man, I hadn't thought about chunks cracking the screen at all. Thank you. Elgoo makes a plant based resin that is at least less-toxic. They give basically the same advice on how to handle it as with their regular resin, but the wording gives me the impression they might just be covering their butts liability wise. Might be something to look into. One thing I'm trying to figure out is temperature. It's not freezing here, but it can get down into the 40s at night. I'm wondering if I just won't be able to run the printer overnight, or if I need to set up a heater to run all the time in the room it's going into, which is of course the one that retails heat the worse.

The Khadoran symbol might be cool to use as a test print actually. I picked up the Mars 2 Pro and the Murcury curing station. They haven't arrived yet though. A curing station will definitely make things easier. Does it come with alcohol or something - if not you'll want some ready for when it arrives. As well as extra gloves etc. For filtering resin back into the bottle I ended up buying one of those reuseable stainless steel funnel/filters off ebay (they all come with a silicone funnel, but I found it usually wasn't needed as the mouth of the filter fits snugly into the mouths of most of the resin bottles I've tried); coffee filters were just too slow and could sometimes tear and spill the resin.
Anyway, I uploaded a bunch of Khador symbols to Thingiverse: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5195822. Let me know if you end up using them. I'm trying some of Elgoo's water washable resin to start. I just bought a much nicer 3D printer than the one I had, so I can print more stuff for a DnD game I'm running. I'm very excited and also a little nervous. I'm making the jump from filament to resin. If I was actively playing warmachine I'd start looking for tiny printable stormtrooper helmets to go on my Khador stuff. Cool! Which printer? I'm on my third resin printer (long story) and it's been a learning process, so let me know if you have any issues, there's a small chance I might be able to help. I have a couple of Khador-related STLs too if you're interested, like the Khador logo and Khador warjack fists (that I modelled from a plastic Juggernaut fist and are pretty damned dimensionally similar). The Khadoran symbol might be cool to use as a test print actually. I picked up the Mars 2 Pro and the Murcury curing station. They haven't arrived yet though.

I suddenly decided I need a second Decimator (let's just say 30 divided by 15 leaves no remainder...). I have the parts for a second Decimator, but I don't want to assemble one for what's probably going to end up being just one game (if that). So instead, I'm going to do something I've wanted to do for a while: design Decimator parts that can be magnetised to sit on a standard Khador warjack forearm with magnetised wrist (which means the parts would work with a couple of magnetised warjacks that I already have).
Hopefully that won't be too big a job. I pretty much know what I need to do, the hard part is finding the time I guess.
I magnetized the Decimator kit I have. It was handy a few times.
