Big Fat TrollI was thinking about some way to make the SK work as well and came up with this: War Room Army Trollblood - 75 - Gunny + SK Theme: The Power of Dhunia 3 / 3 Free Cards 74 / 75 Army Captain Gunnbjorn - WB: +28 - Sea King - PC: 42 (Battlegroup Points Used: 28) - Earthborn Dire Troll - PC: 15 - Earthborn Dire Troll - PC: 15 - Dire Troll Mauler - PC: 15 Troll Whelps - 5 Whelps: 0 Northkin Shaman - PC: 0 Northkin Shaman - PC: 0 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 3 Grunts: 6 Trollkin Runeshapers - Leader & 2 Grunts: 9 Basically you can make the Earthborns DEF18 ARM 22 against guns and magic and DEF16 against melee using a combination of Rockwall and the SK animus. Snipe and Killshot help the SK to deal with infantry. While the Earthborns and Mauler take care of heavies.

I sure would like to hear a batrep on the madrak3 double GK list. I think GKs are very good even though they are overshadowed by MKs. There must be a sweet spot for them where they can totally control a heavy by pushing it back then charging if they get too close or try to of B2B with another heavy to stop the pushes.

They can indeed try and prevent pushes by placing their heavies within their charge range of the GK and having a model right behind. The thing is though, that i have 2 heavies as well. They are always ahead of the GK, and they can most likely charge that heavy now. Or, my 2 GKs can probably shoot it down, since it is no longer being pushed out of range for their guns. So basically, if they try and avoid you pushing them back, just kill them! Also, remember that usually it takes more than one heavy to down a GK. If you let them go in with one guy, and then kill that guy, they have traded 1 heavy for 0 GKs. It is by no means a perfect list, but it has worked well the few times i have tried it.

I played the Gunnbjorn "PoD Scrum" list yesterday and it was amazing. Very strong and very fun. Try it out if you have the time for sure! Those EBDTs are really tough to deal with, and what ever you send in against them gets murdered, either by the EBDT (since he didnt die since he was 14/22) or another beast behind him. Dozer, Bomber and Swamp troll help keep any infantry in check, and that wall is just an amazing way to outplay your opponent. I will start grinding the list to learn to abuse it fully. There is LOTS of potential here i feel

Added a Grissel 1 list on the first page. 4 Heavies and 4 lights seem really unfair. I had to cut all support to get there, but that is a lot of beef to deal with and they punch REALLY hard even without calamity.

I'm really interested to hear how the Grissel 1 list plays. I don't currently have a night troll, but I see a lot of possibilities with his MAT now upgraded to 6.
I may have to snag a couple if these lists go well. With Grillel 1s spell list I may consider dropping one night troll and Janissa to grab two Shamans (to protect the runebearer after casting calamity) and max the stone.
I feel like that extra calamity and distance on stone strength gives an extra 3 damage per attack and let's you play Grissel a touch closer so that her Fell Call can reach an arc node on feat turn.

GENERATED : 04/19/2017 18:30:51 BUILD ID : 2039.17-03-16
With this list I was thinking on making good use of the +2 def. I'll send in a unit of fire eaters with heroes tragedy first with def15. I don't see them lasting too long in the front lines but then I'll send in the champions def16, I might put tales of mist so they are def16 against rang as well, last will go in the highwaymen at def15 with heroes tragedy. I was hoping to use glacier king, bomber and madrak ranged weapons to hit everyone that gets knocked down from heroes tragedy. Would this list work as I intend or would it be a bust? I havnt played it yet...

It is Madrak 1. Of course it will not work! Seriously though, i think FEs are probably the best thing you can play with him, especially if they are on fire. Run 12 and then feat is SUPER dangerous to infantry. Madraks biggest prolem is that there are too few infantry models around for him to have his way with. If you can drop him against 2+ units of infantry he might be playable for sure. The Northin Theme could also be very interesting for him (nope, i have no info. Just assuming there will be FEs allowed and that you will get free stuff Personally i am still on a Gunnbjorn hype since last game. I missed gaming night this week due to easter stuff, and now i have had surgery on my right shoulder. 4 weeks in a sling means it will be hard to get proper games in... and with SR2017 in CID too

Not that we needed more reasons to play FEs, but fuel cache with the CID seems bonkers, more so if we get FE: U with theme.
Im with trollock in that I do not see madrak1 as bad, just ill fit for this meta, the more models and less boxes the better he becomes.

I can't wait until the Northkin theme comes out, Madrak1 might actually become viable.
