Like I said, I pay both factions. If I could take sentry stones in Legion, they'd be in every list. They're such a good answer to the ranged meta, I can't think of a good reason not to include them. -und_ed And I would take them in every Skorne list, no doubt there. I'm just curious how far people would go. Would you forsake the Hellmouth, themes and even extra points to get them? I wouldn't. Honestly, I can't think of a faction I play that is dying to have them with what I have to play in right now. I can pretty easily do without in Circle, even. Gunlines tend to become a lot less popular when ~400 boxes of Soviet Khador comes knocking on the meta's door.

I see. A question of interest to Legion players: If you could permanently trade the Hellmouth for the Sentry Stone, would you do it? Assume that it still costs the Hellmouth's 6p and is not allowed in any theme. I would, sure Vayl will miss her easily place-able channeler but Cygnar is such a big problem for Legion I think it would be well worth the trade, not to mention that Sentry Stones do so much work clearing out infantry.

Yes, Yes and probably yes. forsaking 10-14 points of support in order to successfully deliver an 18+ point heavy is a no-brainer in my book. In most cases you can even use them to prevent the many many (many many many) ranged assassinations around from ending your glorious game early. Really hard to turn them down. -und_ed

It's not easy (unless you're Rahn ).

I'd love that. Really love that.
It's not easy, but I get to use my toys in the meta you describe.
The gun-happy meta kills stuff before it gets to do anything, and that just sucks, even when you win.

The most problematic of the gun lists tend to also be the ones that ignore stealth pretty handily.

Caine 3, Lylyth 3, Vayl 2, anything with electro leaps.

Vayl2 runs a gunline? Caine3 ignoring stealth is theoretically correct, but after doing so he's usually dead. And outside of Nemo3, Eleaps will not kill your heavies. Aren't druids immune to lighting? Might aswell use them to catch the leaps from a spark node. With your entire army being stealth you do not care about direct shots anyway.
I'm not telling you that Stealth ignoring gunlines are not an issue, but it's not as bad as you put it. But then again I play Skorne and maybe I'm just wearing my melee-colored glasses.

Yes Vayl 2 can definitely run a gunline. Granted that generally means Raptors but Legion has the Seraph for Flare and Raptors murder DEF 12 Warpwolves.
I find that after Caine 3 ignores Stealth it's generally my caster that's dead, not Caine.
That is a fair point on e leaps since we're specifically talking about Kaya 2. Usually I don't think about heavies in the context of Stealth.

Gotcha no moving my caster outside my deployment zone.

Gotcha no moving my caster outside my deployment zone. I'm mainly joking. Its just that he's Caine 3...he's really bad. If you need to worry about assassination from your deployment zone, we have plenty of Rahns and Lylith 3's on offer, though.
