I've got a big regional tournament coming up on Labor Day, and I won't be able to practice against ghost fleet. Does anyone have any ideas for a list I could bring? I was trying to stick to adr because this is going to be masters format, so I was thinking either calandra or grissel2 with band of heroes. however, if there's some other caster that would give me a clear advantage, I'd forgo adr for that.

...is the cold hard fact. I see no solution in Trollbloods atm.
A list I might want to try though is:

Gunnbjorn has strong game against it. the reason is that if you RFP a unit leader, he will go away and no other models can come back to that unit any more (they have to be placed near to the leader model and he no longer exist). Explosivo allows you to RFP unit leaders with ranged attack. He is a very strong drop. His feat is very relevant in the match up too.

i tested gunnbjorn alot in Pod vs ghost fleet i think to beat gf its better to play in Kriel Company. Like Trollock said Gunnybjorn offers an RFP inform of explosivo. You can cycle Explovio between Dozer and Gunny to remove 1-2 Leaders a Turn.

Something like this should work.
Another option could be pborka or madrak2 in BoH. Both list should be played with 2 units of Fennblades.
pborka adds Arcane Ward to protect your first wave from debuffs and shooting. madrak2 offers a surfing option during his feat.
I think trolls have some options to play into GF.

Which theme do you like for gunny, then, into ghost fleet? Kriel company with scattergunners and a sorcerer seems legit, with a bomber and D&S for the leader removal? A blitzer might be funny, given how many models he could take down with a trample followed by explosivo'd shooting.

Kriel Company is perfect. I think fireeaters are better then scattergunners. Pirates got defense 13 so scatters need 8 to hit. The war wagon could be an option too. He has a lot of tools to remove infantry.

I have tried a couple lists, including gunnbjorn. Gunbjorn does not work in my meta. They keep the leaders well out of range. And just one model that can rfp is just too little.
I am successful with Madrak2 (CID) ,mauler and earthborn. with max stone + ua, max fenns + ua, 2x min warders, fellcaller and max nyshunters in the BOH theme. Since there is no clarification on the RFP for non trollblood units (there is for the Sotn theme). Nyss can RFP models with melee attacks. They can however not participate in the feat. But that is no big deal since madrak has a range of only 10 inched and thus can concentrate on one side, while the nyss can function on their own.
Surfing (thus not rfp) in feat to the leader and rfp'ing that one is what works for me in my meta.
And any unit can kill the stalkers and wraith engine with ease with the semi weapon master upkeep on them.
The warder can be arm 21, and that will make the riflemen cry (dice -11 to wound).
The fenns and the nys both have good threat ranges
assassinating madrak is also very hard with earths blessing up and his ability to pass a hit to another model in 3 inch range.

Like others have said, we have lots of good answers to ghost fleet, my personal drop is a pBorka band of heroes list, lots of take down and arcane ward go a long way in the matchup.
One important thing to remember is to bring knockdown immunity, as it'll likely be run by deneghra. Again, pBorka is great for this, but you can always bring a bouncer or earthborn.

We answer Ghost Fleet probably better than any other faction in the game.
Basically you want:
Gunnbjorn
Madrak 2
or
Any caster with good ranged Assassination in Band of Heroes: I.e Grissel2 or Grim2.

Gunnbjorn is really solid into it. The trick is you need to tech him into whatever flavor of Dark Host they're pairing it with (Gaspy2 and Skarre1 seem the most popular from my cursory look at things) because as soon as they read your feat and your spell list there is exactly 0% chance they drop Ghost Fleet.

If the new rules for themes allow mercs/minions then Gunnbjorn with a Sacral Vault may prove to be pretty strong as Sacral vault is capable of stopping the recursion with its gun and Explosivo lets you do it even more.
Sacral Vault also allows you to play into Dark Host as Soulstorm is pretty strong.

But then you have moved. His rat will be 2 due to inaccurate. He can up this to rat 4 with his animus. Then you need at least 8's to hit. Thus boosting is required. That is a lot of resources to spend. Also in the current game there is a lot more terrain. Then you may be confronted with either los blocking terrain or terrain granting cover. That will reduce the probability of success also. |

The more I play vs Denny1 GF the more I'm convinced that her shooting is almost a non-issue. The real troubles are when they start charging. The second best thing from RFP vs GF is to have a lot of attacks. I've found Kriel Company works pretty good because if there's one thing KC does, it's bring a lot of attacks. Another thing to consider is that they usually bring minimum units. This means they won't have many possibilities to field promote, so if you can destroy all the grunts without touching the riflemen, they will have to field promote their anchor, which usually puts the rifles out of formation, granting you a whole turn of their unit doing nothing. |

I completely agree with you robobengt - that's why I suggested the KC list in post #2.
RFP on melee attacks with BOH is just not good enough imo. Nor is explosivo with Gunny.
+ Grim2 threatens assassination on Denny with Mage sight and the Glacier King.
Only problem is incorporeal, which magic weapon objective might help with, or even a sorcerer for highwaymen if its a big problem.
