They are literally porting the minifactions over to prime instead of tossing them in legacy. They'll likely keep them up to date, and to be honest, if they just do their best to avoid power creep, it would help the game a lot.

The mini factions are all being brought into Prime.
They are, currently, the only legacy models that even have a shot at maybe being produced again at some point in the future *if* demand is there.

I am bit sceptic about the new version. What I don´t like is the last big update, where almost all point-costs dropped heavily, so people could have encouraged to buy new minis - only to say a few months later that most of the minis will become obsolet in the future...

I doubt people ran out and bought a bunch of Battle Mechanik Officers and Vanquishers just because the points dropped to sensible values last October. Points didn't change THAT much, either. You just got maybe 5 extra points per list, enough to allow for different warjack choices, or wiggle room with regards to your solo selection, or whatever.
