I am a troll player, but i play against Morkai a lot, and he plays Legion. He asked me to help him come up with lists that can handle high ARM (AKA beat my lists lol). I have come up with a few lists that i wouldnt love playing against with my trolls, but there are plenty of things in Legion that are great against living models that will not be great in a match up against for example Asphyxious 3 with 9 heavies. Does any one here have any inspiration for what to whip out in such a match up? EDIT: For clarity, I am mostly interested in things that can beat jack spam (high ARM that do not care for stuff that only affects living models).

I like pThagrosh in Children of The Dragon against Trollblods. Usually you don't have feat against Trollblods but his -2 Str aura, Twisted Form and weaken shoots from Craelix make up for this. It's worse against Warmachine but still playable. Abby2 can kill some stuff dead but I didn't played her against Trolls a lot. Abby1, Thagrosh2 and Anamag should join our top level armor cracking department soon. So maybe Morkai can just wait a bit ?

I personally love pThags, which I usually run in CotD. My three character heavies are sitting at 13/21 (Zuriel), 13/20(Typhon ~22 w/o grevious), and 12/22 (Azrael). pThags also has twisted form (which really throws beast bricks for a loop), a damage buff with fire immunity (surprisingly comes up a lot vs trolls) and a powerful attrition feat. Swordsmen are also a great tool against beast bricks, and fire immunity gets rid of a lot of trolls anti-infantry tricks. pThags in oracles is also a solid option, especially when the changes to the carni chassis go through. If you are curious I have a video somewhere of pThags CotD going against eBorka Storm of the North from the winner's table at a tournament, the core of three character beasts just never suffer significant damage from his army and twisted form punishes his Rok.
I also like Fyanna, she can hot swap fury and her feat puts your beasts just out of range of easy targets.
In terms of models, swordsmen are fantastic armor crackers and will chew through infantry (another point for CotD). The naga can help you get around pesky upkeeps, and has a nice crit effect for tripping up beasts. The Scythian acts as a hard counter to specific troll threats like Madrak1, and will become a more viable counter when the CID goes through with his huge point reduction.
Ravens can work well against trolls too due to the fact that it can bring hellmouths, raptors (poison bows are great), and strider deathstalkers (who are brutal against single wound infantry). I have had some success using Fyanna Ravens hot swapping fury around the board, but to be honest I prefer pThags CotD.

You just must pray for dense terrain table and abuse it well. I wouldn't call it fair fight but its doable. When you manage to turtle around building or something you can abuse flight ect to fight jacks one by one. Cut Cortex with Zuriel, apply shadow bind and leave jack in the way. Craelix and team should focus on support stuff.

Sorry if i was unclear. I can build him a list that will work against ME (trolls) just fine. Its jack spam that baffles me Welcome to the club! *cough I mean, uhh... I think if you play with the CiD rules for the Carni chassis you can get a bit better into jack spam. Aby 2 is probably the greatest enabler. The free charge and +2 str makes for a significant swing in our favor. Even if you don't get the alpha strike, her psycho surgery nearly makes sure all systems are back to functioning. Thagrosh 1 is good at certain things. But I personally feel that trowing a single brick at a brick wall is less than optimal. He can help tank a little bit better but his kit is not suited as much for constructs. Thagrosh 2 and shredders still make for fantastic trades. The Dice manipulation of MD with flank can net some impressive spikes. I then use his feat to disengage the lights/heavies and push the shredders further in as speed bumps. Kryssa and Fyanna can be built for good anti-armor. Though respectably Fyanna has a better chance of survival where as Kryssa has greater capacity for damage. Lastly, there is a community love for throwing Rhyas 2 into jacks and having her, somehow, kill the world. I myself do not get this to happen reliably, but maybe your friend can.

I have a plan to use the blightbringer with the twins, which really tips her over the edge if you want to kill a jack. She can kill a gargossal with just one solid crit, but sometimes you have to commit some resources for the killing blow. I plan on using this with the new character to get her sprint and let the vulture finish it off.

Abby2 had been good for me. Though one problem can be if they hold a second wave back our beasts are rather expensive to trade with.

There really aren't many options for dealing with Jack spam in Legion. At least, there aren't many options that look good on paper. You have to rely on maneuverability and tricks to defeat them... Which is basically "praying" that the table works too your advantage. Honestly, the more I think about it, "praying" you can use the table is kind of standard issue Legion tactics. You have to hope there is something that flight, Pathfinder, or Eyeless Sight helps with. Alternatively, if Primal Terrors ends up looking like it what it was at the end of week 3 from CiD, there's your answer. Anamag gets work done!

Zuriel is pretty killer against my jacks. With precision strike he can normally slice out a cortex quite easily. And he's just hard enough to hit that you can dodge him easily enough.
Just make sure he doesn't get knocked on his arse.

Due to fury mechanics, people will almost always headbut him, boost to hit, then buy any remaining attacks they can. But from a warmachine perspective it's a lot more of a resource expenditure to headbutt. So in that respect Zuriel should survive better against jacks.

A charging Combo striking Zuriel has a pretty good chance of slicing out a Khadoran cortex with his initial attack. Jacks are much harder to heal than beast. And so it probably can't even buy a power attack in the first place.

CotD with Zuriel and mild Nephilim Soldier spam is your best bet for true anti-warjack spam. Along with warlords. Theres three sources of precision strike right there. As well as a decapitation, which scares anything.
Honestly though, anything meant to kill warbeasts instantly is probably going to do the same to warjacks, just maybe with a little more difficulty.
