1) I think the hard point for Jacks is that you almost always want 60 Points in IF Stuff. That leaves 15+ WJ Points for Jacks (37 to 45).
Of course you can go down to 40 Points but I think that only the case with some caster who activly want some Jacks (maybe Strak1 or OW1)
2) There are a lot of Casters that really like the Theme. Basically everyone who likes Infantry, can boost dmg for infantry and Z1
for me it goes something like this: 1. Strakov2: Maybe just because hes the new thing. But I am biased here, well because its Strakov! He brings a lot to the table with 3 buffs that are good on IF of all sorts. Only downside is that I think he also wants to bring a conquest but fitting that with 60 Points IF is tough 2. Irusk2: The classic! Does what he does. Maybe with a small nerf ahead, but brings Pathfinder in the Feat, protection and Tactician. Also Battellust is better than Last Stand (in this List). Hits harder than Strakov, but offers less protection. 3. Kozlov: Personally...I don't like him, but he works well. Doesn't quite hit as hard as Strak2 and Irusk but still doesn enough. Doesn't quite protect as well on the Aproach, but speeds them more with feat. 4. Zerkova1: She could be a bit higher, but I don't know how good the Theme is without Dmg Buff. If its enough than she could go to 2nd or even 1. place. Giving Ghostly is HUGE! for this List, also Cloudprotection does a lot. Add in Spell support and she could be quite good.
Then of course you could maybe play Irusk1, Butcher1, Vlad1,2,3 who I think can all work quite nicely. Offmentions would be as said before Strak1 and OW1. I think I will play and test this List a lot with Strak2, Irusk2 and Zerkova1

So we've now seen Z1 win the Seatle Masters in IF theme. What can you say now?

I really enjoy playing Irusk2 in the Iron Fang themeforce. Double Uhlans and 1 unit regular Iron Fang so I can take all the countercharging solos, including the war dog. As for the Battlegroup, I like taking two destroyers to add some range power to the army. This army feels like a good pairing with my Vlad1 Winterguard theme list And I will enjoy playing them until I switch back to Retribution in June

Back in the day you didn't have Electric Chickens running double Electric Ponies, and the range game wasn't as punishing as it is now due to the new measuring rules. I ran Claws of the Dragon back in the day, and it was awesome. But today this list, IMO, has a lot of weaknesses. People need to stop expecting perfect lists against everything... Be looking more for the pairings it can create I missed this, but I really like this attitude. It's not good if we find a perfect Khador list that is unbeatable and can play flawlessly into everything! Doesn't make it fun for the other person. That said, I've been running Iron Legion with Irusk 2 for a little bit now: I2 Destroyer x2 Full Ironfangs with CA Full Blackdragons with CA Full Blackdragons with CA Greatbears IFK x2 Kovnik Malakov Armoury objective This is a really rough list to fight against. There is a lot of no knockdown redundancy and movement redundancy, but I don't mind that as much as it just means I can end up a little sloppy with positioning and still manage to keep them standing. What makes this list brutal from a defensive standpoint is the sheer number of tough rolls you get to attempt. It can really swing, and that's on top of excellent armour. Throw in the fact this list can hit high def, high arm models and it's a real pain to deal with in scenario.

Tried Legion of Steel and Strakhov2 both for my first game yesterday. The list I ran was: Strakhov2 Kodiak Juggernaut Markov IFK IFK Full Ulhans Full Regular pikemen + CA Full Black Dragons +CA
Was going against the twins in legion in an Oracle list with hex hunters, blackfrost shard, angelius, zuriel, seraph, naga, some support.
I won the game by scenario in the incursion scenario. This game gave me a good lesson, Markov can't be everywhere at once, his tactician is pretty much required for most of the countercharging models. I only killed one hex hunter with a countercharge, but the possibility of countercharge was big enough for my opponent not to ignore. I was able to control a flag because my opponent had only one model that could run to contest but couldn't be placed out of countercharge rang of one of the IFK. Strakhov2 can run this list very well, with advance move on one unit, quicken, the ulhans and Strakhov being able to be pretty far forward thanks to reposition I was able to put a lot of pressure on the scenario early on. Inviolable resolve went on the Ulhan, that combined with the feat made them very hard to kill. As I suspected last stand was never releveant in this match up because it is not really necessary to kill legion's squishy stuff I like the list a lot more than I though I would, especially considering the lack of shooting in the list. Tactician kinda makes up for that since you can clear charge lanes with models in melee without the getting in the way of your next move. Markov is very important for that. My opponent didn't pay him a lot of attention, which was good for me. I'll have to try the list with Irusk2 for the double tactician bubble.
Will try the list again monday.

Wow the list is impressive, not sure if because of theme list or Strakhov2 because I've only played Strakhov2 in theme and haven't played the theme with anyone else than Strakhov. But boy does it work wonders. I played yesterday against Ret and Cygnar and won both games by a fair margin. It was the first time I won a game against Issyria so easily, before that I was always struggling very hard to deal with her. Not going to go in all the details but I ended up wining with 5 scenario points having lost less than 15 points of stuff and my opponent had pretty much only his hyperion and arcanists left, not able to contest the flag where Strakhov was scoring. Second game was against Nemo1 in heavy metal. Scenario was entrenched. I went first and was able to score a point during his second turn by dominating my own zone. The game was over by the end of the third turn since I was already at 5 points, I was able to control his zone, destroy his objective and dominate my zone on my third turn. By his third turn he didn't have any way to contest my zone or kill my caster. Both of my opponent might have played too chicken with their armor buffed colossals. But the list when run by Strakhov2 can set the pace of the game, which is something new in Khador. The countercharges are pretty big but mostly depend on Markov placement. He hasn't died so far but I've been playing safe with him, keeping him back and hidden in terrain early game. I think I've found my third list for the Southern Ontario Open, will be pairing Strakhov2 in Legion of Steel with Strakhov1 in Winterguard Kommand and Butcher3, still on the fence about running him in or out of tier.

Too bad I'm not going to get out there this year, Auraco. I would have enjoyed getting a couple of games in with you!

Why are you not coming this year? It's going to be my first time there and everyone keeps telling me how awesome it is. I don't have enough painted models for the iron gauntlet, but I'm eager to participate in the masters, to see if I'm really a big fish or just an average fish in the medium-ish pond that is the Montréal meta.

Yeah, the list is like mk2 Skarre banespam in it's effectiveness except fangs are even harder to kill than banes and vengeance is replaced by countercharge.

So with the LoS theme what are you guys pairing it with? This is where I'm kind of stuck. Right now I'm running it with strakhov2 and I'm really enjoying it. But for the last while I've had a jack heavy list as kind of my main drop, karchev or b3 jack skew, and I'm not so sure that'll pair well with LoS Strak2. Reason being is that I feel like I'll end up in a list chicken scenario as a lot of my opponents will have an anti box drop and an infantry clear drop. Been thinking maybe a Sorcha1 WinterGuard gunline as a second list but I'm not certain.

My idea of pairing is jackspam that has access to magic weapons either via Karchev or via Seer marshalling.
The thing is normal infantry hate doesn't counter LoS. Like massed pow 10's or blasts or fire isn't enough. You need specific things like Nemo3 + leaps or anatomic precision/acid/sniper spam or high pow berserk that gets around tough. Those lists aren't common and the factions I'm expecting to have them jacks play well against. And any list that can counter fangs, can also counter WG well so WG rocket spam isn't a good pick. At least without solid jack component. The magical weapon part is for Ghost fleet since you cannot have it in LoS.
