Suboptimal choices are only a theme force or model release away from being competitive. Look at what Heavy Metal has done for Jakes2, a caster much maligned since release.

Rowdy, I haven't playtested Grimkin so can't speak to a direct comparison, but just from a Khador perspective I'll offer this. She's a really good jack caster. Repeat. Really good. Now, I think they stumbled into that design choice, but the 1-2 focus thing, added to our ability to spam 10-14 jacks which include a pretty boss ranged jack, means she can play midline and have some pretty beefy defensive tech in the way. Grimkin only has a couple of heavies, but we have great heavies for daaaays. With Power Magnifier, if she had a Bond with one warjack in her battlegroup to make it an arcnode, it'd be bonkers good. Bonkers, I say. Imagine her being able to make the Devastator an arc node. That would be hilarious. And the rest of the meta would revolt. So, yeah, there's that. I don't understand anything you meant in detail. My confusion is the design intention of giving her a really cool toolbox, but then pretty much limiting you to one tool most of the time. But then the other faction with even more tools can use them just fine. Edit: I just hate loose ends more then anything. Why Retain broadsides if Reposition means you would exit the threat range! It's the REASONING that's driving me crazy more then power level. Im not necessarily a sucker for brute force. I never take the behemoth because I don't like it in any of my lists despite it being the most expensive heavy in the game. Suboptimal choices are only a theme force or model release away from being competitive. Look at what Heavy Metal has done for Jakes2, a caster much maligned since release. I can see that happening. If Only the Koldun Lord got the equivalent of Sandstorm as a replacement for the "Anti Assault only and plase don't kill me" aura.
