I didn't necessarily mean that as a good thing. I was hoping we'd try to leave the salt behind.

You can't leave something behind if you naturally produce it. We're one big, salty family.

Well, no smoke without fire.
Maybe we did it too much, but I don't think that we are out of reason either. They may try to cover our mouth and bind our hands, but it can't hide the truth.

You can't leave something behind if you naturally produce it. We're one big, salty family. Except swampist is running it now. And if he wanted to he could desalinate by being a forum tyrant and striking down anyone who disagrees with him and i would support him in that endeavor But i think he's better than that.

I think the forums became too demanding. I think at the end there people were feeling more entitled to PPS commentary than they actually deserved.
Most of the PPS were posting on the forums out of the goodness of their heart, not some corporate desire to please everyone's individualized gripe of the day.
A lot of forum goers forget that PP is their job AND their hobby. Constant negativity, even after they have directly addressed and attempted to fix an outcry will drain the love of the job out of even the most upbeat and positive of employees. If I had to put up with even a quarter of the shit people posted at me incessantly that they did AS A JOB, I'd quit in a week. To then have to carry that shit into my HOBBY as well. I'd be ready to commit suicide.
I'm fully willing to move to Lormahordes to preserve the sanity of my favorite PPSers. Your individual problem with the game can wait.

Well, it isn't an excuse since we are the people and the buyer as well. We told the problem to them but they don't listen much of them, and they are even try to stop the speech as well as GW does.

I think its the fear of people finding out their disconnect.
The modern real anger at PP began to happen when they would do something like:
"Well x is limited to 3 but costs 4 focus" And people would point out "But x is already 4 focus" "Uhhhhhhhh"
After which people stopped defending PP as people who knew what they where doing. Mk2 was allot more positive because they didnt reveal flawed thought processes, so people assumed the best.

So instead of having their own forum where they could moderate the discussion (delete posts, respond, etc) they ended that and caused the creation of more forums like this one where they have no control. Mmmkay. Also, if you have a website with a store on it you generally want as many visitors as possible. I still don't agree with their decision on this. I'm glad that we have a good alternative at least. Hopefully more people will continue to migrate over to here.

"oh hey, people are complaint about our constant screw ups over the last couple years. Let just burn down half the forums so we don't have to see it when they do." -PP

I agree with the logic that PP had more people "in the store" (or a step away literally, since their forums and online store are connected) and thus were more likely to get sales. Now the plan seems to be more about trying to get entirely NEW customers into the store and hoping for some sales rather than serving the on-site loyal repeat customers who already spend so much money. I hope they did their math on that choice. (Sadly I know that panning for the uninitiated does work in some other types of business.)
As far as the podcast interview, I found it unsatisfying. From "I can't comment on that" to expecting self-generating local communities, to a further push for Facebook - which is NOT a forum - the discussion just didn't leave me feeling better as it did the interviewers.

PP has made it clear that they wanted to push everything critical of the game (constructive or not) out of their forums. However, they still want veteran and experienced players to help out new players on the PP forums and assist in the CID (read: beta testing for free). Somehow, they think they are going to get quality help under their strict moderation and censorship. I think their expectations are rather unreasonable. The PP forums feel like a ghost town now.

As a Pressganger I was writing in the PP Forums, daily (>4700 total posts), with about a 40% salt/60% rah-rah ratio of commentary/advice as of MK3.
But with the Faction Forums (mostly Trollbloods for me) and PG Forum going away, there is not much to attract my attention to the PP Forums (has to be a win:win for my limited time). So my 60% encouragement to new players won't be present there.
But I intend to maintain that encouragement here! (I wonder who will maintain that pure altruism/repetitious-new-player-assisting on the PP Forums that PP may desire?

Idk. The negativity was definately getting to me. Like I had a nice week where the forums were nuked where i was like " holy shit i dint have to read the constant salt on the protectorate forums that's nice" (you know who you are) And then the week of being excited for the existence of this forum. But all the negativity is going to transfer over here anyways so the salt is inescapable so i have to just deal with it. I personally don't know who to blame for this negativity. It's not like pp have been making like catastrophic mistakes. Like yeah they've been blundering a decent amount recently. But i think this is because they have been trying too do so many things at once by themselves and in addition the game is huge at this point. Like when it gets this large with this many factions and different models it is really hard to keep a hold of it. Like playtesting a new models interaction with all other possibilities would probably take them months. But they want to keep their release schedule the way it is cause otherwise players will get bored and game will stagnate. Also the hivemind of players with its ability to spot the most competitive broken combos days before the rules are released really isn't helping the health of the game. (Looking at you people that brought Haley2/storm lances to all the tournaments and nothing else. Not that I'm judging i probably would have done the same if i had no soul)
