The exact same in the same timeframe happened in my meta and in my country in general. Add to that the closure or abandonement of everything on the side of the main game (High Command, Official Forum, RPG, Novels, No Quarter, Company of Iron, ecc...), the multiple crazy discounts on new stuff that clearly clogs the wharehouses, and the recent departure of 4 historical PP staff members... I cannot understand how some people can say that the game was never healthier than now... When I hear this and say this, it's because they/we are talking about in terms of rules for our style of play (competitive). All those other things (RPG, Company of Iron, etc) we viewed at best as a distraction. This doesn't make it true, but it's what we mean.

Three huge bases is a massive pain in the butt to navigate, especially in a really slow list. I'm really a fan of the cyclops shaman/raider backline for shooting over the Immortals, otherwise positioning for the feat is just a nightmare. I played enough with Xerxes2 to mitigate it. Also, the units are incorporeal when they need to be, so that should help some

I used to find him to be soley an attrition caster that keeps playing for an angled assassination. Seems like now he has opened up thanks to the SG. Considering this:
War Room Army
Skorne - There Is No Dana, Only Zaal2
Theme: The Exalted 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Zaal, The Ancestral Advocate - WB: +29 - Mammoth - PC: 35 (Battlegroup Points Used: 29) - Agonizer - PC: 6
Supreme Guardian - PC: 16 Supreme Guardian - PC: 16
Ancestral Guardian - PC: 0 Hakaar the Destroyer - PC: 0 Extoller Novititate - PC: 2
Immortals - Leader & 9 Grunts: 13 - Extoller Advocate - PC: 3 Immortals - Leader & 9 Grunts: 13 - Extoller Advocate - PC: 0
THEME: The Exalted ---
Thoughts? The obvious one is that only one AG means I will have to keep stragglers back to keep the units moving at expected pace. But since the models of that unit are not required to be in formation it isn't that restrictive...

Its baffling to me that this mentality still exists in MKIII. PP pretty directly wanted to get away from it the moment they opened up pre-measuring and nixed Page 5. Players should be able to execute clean turns according to their plan without having to worry about minor memory lapses or measurements ruining the over all strategic enjoyment of the game. People like your opponent are cancer. They're cancer in WMH and they're cancer in every other table top game system out there. I promise you that playing 40k or xwing with that same guy would also be a similarly miserable experience. When this kind of stuff happens just smile. Shake his hand and congratulate him on the victory and make a mental note to play absolutely anybody else on game night if possible. So much yes. I've adopted this attitude and it's helped my enjoyment of the game so much more.

Well, yes and no. His point is "a flaw in the game system of WMHD is that at casual and mid tier levels, it is a game of memory and gotchas", which a lot of people do not enjoy. And this kind of game system attribute scares away some newer players. Others it will intrigue because they see it as "this game has tons and tons of mechanics to play with, meaning lots of deep game play to enjoy" (obviously you see what I like about it) Personally, I think it is a matter of perspective. This player is a uber-dick. Were this my game, I would have conceded right then and there to get myself out of this game and to get myself away from this player (as well as give him a taste of his own medicine). Also, another way to look at these kinds of games is "they are practice": Play against Child enough times and you will learn to remember Wailing. Pretty much the first time I play every major list type, I lose (unless I thoroughly studied that list and watched games of it beforehand).

Absolutely. He costs only 1 more than a BB. Hits about as hard per blow, and has Future Sight to help make up for the lower fury stat and less initials. +3" on threat range and higher combined defensive stat line, plus Intuition and a more useful Animus. He's great. He won't always be worth it in every list, but he's a very unique package for Skorne compared to other options and he is very strong in that role. Side-step adds even more depth to it but I don't think it is required for him to fulfill his purpose. Well something isn't connecting because as far as I can tell no one is running him. In addition with the CID the BB is 2 points cheaper now, gained health, has beat-back and hyper-aggressive base now, and has a new animus giving you unyielding so skorne now has a blessed immune arm buff, as well as a more useful leadership as the aggy will now count as a titian if all spoilers are to be trusted. I think it's because he is basically only available when running Makeda, but since she is obviously an infantry caster and we have so many beasts that we can use to support infantry... But when he becomes available in IWH for other casters I think he will be seen more often. He brings such a "not-Skorne" element that anyone who techs for our normal set of beasts won't be teching for him.

MK is great. He has always been great. Over costed, maybe, but much like Tibbers there ain't no one like him so you get what you pay for. His stat line makes him vulnerable to shooting, but a Krea can often solve that problem The big question, is MK good without sidestep. Absolutely. He costs only 1 more than a BB. Hits about as hard per blow, and has Future Sight to help make up for the lower fury stat and less initials. +3" on threat range and higher combined defensive stat line, plus Intuition and a more useful Animus. The use of Archons just reminds me why I worship Menoth and NOT Morrow OR Thamar. A deal is a deal my friends and the law is the law. You can't just start throwing angels into Caern to go back on a deal. Gods... Feh. Embrace the lash, embrace the Void. Makeda will find a place for you.

Apologies for the offtopic, but making a new thread for that would be lame. Is MK good for anything these days? I've been out of the loop for a very long time, but I thought that after MK 3 he was declared a useless piece. I'd like to know because I need to decide if to paint him soon or throw him back into the chest. MK is great. He has always been great. Over costed, maybe, but much like Tibbers there ain't no one like him so you get what you pay for. His stat line makes him vulnerable to shooting, but a Krea can often solve that problem

Agonizers count as Titans. Unlimited minion solos and Chiron in DoA Marketh and free solos now in IWh Ancestral Guardians in MoW Void Spirits for all themes with Mordikaar Ranged beasts allowed in MoW Molik Karn in IWh SG in MoW counts for free points MoW can take small or medium based solos for free Sentinel gains recoil, Solider gains Swarm, both gain Snacking I have the strangest, most surprised awkward boner right now! Where can I find/read/listen to this? I heard this all second hand from a friend who listened to it

You can charge with a speed penalty. In mk2 you could not. You might want to check to see where your quick start rules are coming from...

Maybe it's just the differences in our English terms but could you elaborate on what a "scrum" is and what you mean by offering up "personal space to play"? Thanks for the tips. So a "scrum" is what we call a Steamroller that we only play 1 game a week for. No judges, obviously, but it gives everyone time to get their game in and no one loses an entire day. It's a nice hybridization of tournament with casual. We organize it with a Facebook page and Conflict Chamber to make it easy to announce pairings and store army lists. By personal space, I mean we've got several gamers who open up rooms in their personal houses for people to play 2-3 times a week. This way people don't need to rely on finding tables at a store to play. This all started with 10 people in our first scrum. It's since grown to at least 30 players per scrum, out of a pool of 50 or so (people rotate in and out of each league as their schedule allows). We run a total of 6 scrums a year, so there's usually a few weeks in between for people to take a rest and test out new lists before the next one.

Start a scrum and offer up personal space to play. Worked for my meta. We have like 50+ people now actively involved, at least 30 of which are always playing in our league.
