I think Gastonne will be a pretty strong contender in masters as he offers some very good assassination options.

I can well picture Ashlynn as a cavalry model with some kind of dressage special rules thrown in to the mix to let her synergise well with sh cavalry and stannis for those glorious forlorn hope charges.

I used to run her a lot with my McBain! lists as she made a great target for countermeasures able to shut down shooting for most of the table, but in mk3 the spell ward has reduced her versatility for me. But if your looking for a cheap tarpit that doesn't need caster support she is great.

Id reconsider about taking the renegade not so much for the ranged rocket but for the ability to arc calamity as the spell is awesome and gives you much more flexibility for position and threat.

I find blasts pretty rare at the moment cygnar electroleap spam is the big thing at my local and pretty much impossible for infantry to defend against. Regardless I'd always recommend full halbie units as they are cheap and hit surprisingly hard, you may want to consider if your not running theme taking ragman as sac pawn keeps him alive among the halbies and combined with Damianos feat let's halbies and cav hit really hard.

I've been scrolling through the casters in warroom to see who could run mercenary by the looks of things I'd say Cryx and protectorate would be the best bet. Cryx debuffs make mercenary units hit a lot harder and like living models for souls while the menoth beatstick casters that want cheap units and toolbox of solos would seem to benefit quite well. When I have some spare cash I was planning to pick up a Battlebox or two. I'd love to hear if anyone has any play experience with these.

If you have focus you can buy additional melee attacks after the drag during activation but you cannot perform more ranged attacks so you use the harpoon last. Broadsides let you harpoon drag and perform a melee attack out of activation hotshot only lets you boost the harpoon not the melee.

True but with mags1 he will be right behind galleon for protection and to repair so at most your galleon is inactive for 1 turn, I know for most people thats still 1 turn to many but I don't mind risking it as I find the benefits outweigh the risk.

You may want to consider adding a basher they are great for slamming heavies out of zones for scenario and useful for dealing with high def infantry.
