Looking at them I think there crossbows and back weapons are a little too chunky to have them on small bases. That and there points cost and rules put them more on a par with heavy infantry units from other factions.

PP have confirmed over the last few years that Ashlynn2 was going to happen and she should have come out last year, could be any number of reason for the delay. Think it was Matt that said PP had things in development planned out for up to five years in advance.

Sorry not sure what your trying to say if I wasn't clear with my post I meant OAC already have tough so they benefit from the reviver 4+ without needing to be given tough from field work.

Looking at Gearheart with OAC under Morley look promising. They have tough so can be super toughed while also receiving +2str by macking them friendly faction they benefit from his warrior bonuses so with snipe and battleplan they can assault shot for a threat range of 24" at rat6 /3d6.

All Stannis needs is flank like the cav, have him lose the hand cannon to justify not increasing his points. After all fluff wise it never made sense to me that Stannis trains his cav in combined arms to give them flank but can't do this himself?

I am so ok with all of this. Now I can actually use Moneyshot and Deadeye. Hopefully Nick's tough bubble is expanded or something. I'd love to use him again, and with gaining access to reveille, it'd make sense. My thoughts exactly, Dr Nick needs that extra something as he didn't really need to be hit with the nerf stick after mk2 as it is ideally he needs a bigger tough bubble or switching his arm buff to a def buff. Im overjoyed that they got an arcanist as I always felt the steelheads needed some kind of non character jack marshal that fit into there fluff of having lots of cheap jacks but not enough casters to go round. All im waiting for now is some kind of scouting unit maybe a two man unit that lobs anti stealth flares, that somehow synergises with the riflemen, since SH are all about cheap reliable that use combined arms to compete with other factions fancy tech.

The ability to run and shield wall would be a massive help as this would turn them into a blocking tarpit unit for protecting flags/zones.

Even a minor tweak would greatly improve them losing CMA and making there guns POW 12 or better 13 would probably do it as it fits there fluff of being devastating short range armored shooters who fight in tunnels, there low speed and range keeps the CRA from being too OP.

If you want to make him high shield themed give him an awesome spray weapon instead of a hand cannon,like some kind of oversized blunderbuss which slams everything it hits.

As said previously I love SH Cav but sadly to get the most out of them you need to pay Halbie and possibly some solo's as unit tax, don't get me wrong with Damiano, Gastone or even Magnus running the SH boat they can wreck face but need practice and finnese to get the most out of them.
Strength wise they are great for taking down units and solos but now struggle against armour but there def and armour can be buffed quite well depending on who your running them with, I find mags 1 and Rupert push them up to def 18 making them a headache for many Cygnar players as there armour lets them survive against arc lightning. Under Gastone they have tonnes of assassination potential with his feat and stannis.

Damiano increases STR+ARM, hands out Repo[5], and can situationally give them +2 MAT and vengeance. I fail to see how Mags1 even comes close to running steelheads as well as Damiano... Damiano runs steelheads really well and makes them hit hard however Mags I find gives them much more survivability, he can buff cav armour with death ward (and in a pinch make dr nicks armor buff on halbies almost worthwhile), he can buff halbie def with blur and snipe lets riflemen engage targets while keeping out of charge range.

I like Mags1 as he is a pretty versatile support caster and find he runs my steelheads as well as Damiano in kingmaker, while resourceful is a handy ability i find its a bit of a trap as most people tend to go jack skew with him.

Has Ashlynn interacted with the Trollbloods? It's possible she could gain allies there by supporting their autonomy. The two forces feel like the only people in warmachine/ Hordes just trying to survive. I recall there was a NQ short story where Khador tricked some trenchers into helping them storm some tunnels under the guise of fighting cryx when they knew it was a hideout for Ashlynn's resistance cell. I think her force were raiding Khador supply convoys with trollbloods then splitting the loot.
