I imagine its a good thing like literally everything else in the MOW theme has the ability to put the hurt on stuff that blast damage doesn't touch.

Honestly though i think suppression tankers and siege chariots are the route to go. The siege chariot gets smoke to protect itself, and suppression tankers can be expected to land direct hits on dug in trenchers.

Well the Siege Chariot can't smoke itself to block LOS, being a huge base. However the smoke clouds it places down are perfect for protecting, say, a Suppression Tanker who's just laid down some covering fires or minced some Trenchers.
Between the Range 10 Gun, the Smite on Hit to push the heavy it's shooting away and the repo 3, it's much more survivable and dangerous than people are giving it credit for. Plus it's one of the most fun models to actually play: that gun basically shoots Memes and Dreams.
I'm pretty sure between all the tools at its disposal and maybe some help from Aiyana & Holt, you can create a Man of War list as a Cryx & Trencher drop, with game into everything else

The chariots feel too short ranged for a shooting support BE and too brittle for a linebreaker BE. Feels like whatever you want to accomplish with them you can just take other stuff and it will perform better. I was really expecting the siege gun to be some sort of long ranged fire support howitzer. I guess I really should have got on that in the CID... The designs don't make a lot of sense to me and the assault gun has so much overlap with suppression tankers and bombardiers. The siege gun is at least pretty unique in terms of being crazy high POW. Definitely don't see much point in assault gun. Still not sold on the siege gun, but at least it has the utility of clouds and slam.

I just wish they would have designed the model to be like a real chariot so when the chariot is destroyed the MoW hops off and is a solo. They could have even have the three different weapon sets so when you hop off you can deside if its a shock Trooper, Demo Korp or Bombardier.
They still are ok models

The assault chariot isn't half bad if you think of it as light cavalry (hah); it is mobile, can pew a little and contest zones.
It's pretty cheap as well.
The siege chariot really suffers from this whole "one shot"-thing. But maybe I just need to see it on the table.

The good part about chariots are theit point costs. 14 and 16 are the magical numbers for AK because that's what mow units cost. 2x assault + 2x shockies/bombers is exactly 60, 2x siege + 2x demos is also 60. As opposed to that Drakhuns, Atanas and Supressors all have awkward point costs that make fitting them into list an uphill struggle.

Eh, you're forgetting that you really should be using those 3 pt units of mechanics to fill holes (and get advance moves!), but yeah the pt costs get a bit wacky sometimes.

What kind of list where you dropping that into? Mostly protectorate. Combined arms faith-full masses (a good mix of jacks and dudes) and exemplar interdiction. Ill try to go back and check my reports, but the assault chariot preformed fairly well in them.

There are situations where it will perform well, but it's a super specialized piece of tech, so outside of theses situations it won't be doing much. The problem I see with him is that theses optimal situations don't come up all that often in a competitive environment.

I see plenty on infantry that would hate pow 10 blasts

Insaw some people complaining about BAHI in relation to the chariots. Then a couple hours later I saw the price of the space Marine mamoth forge world put out. I'm pretty happy I play Warmachine.
