No Have you tried giving up and using hard drugs? It would probably be cheaper. I really think they screwed up somewhere in the design for Kriel Company. Or maybe just Troll's ranged game in general. We're really missing some key pieces to make our ranged game work and it kind of sucks.

Only played it a couple of times, but I've enjoyed this list:
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company
(Grissel 1) Grissel Bloodsong, Fell Caller [+29] - Mountain King [36] - Pyre Troll [8] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Braylen Wanderheart, Trollkin Outlaw [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Trollkin Highwaymen (max) [15] Trollkin Sluggers (min) [6] Trollkin War Wagon [16]

Friends don’t let friends build Kriel Company lists.
I’d probably try to get Farrow Brigands into a list over Boomies. Prey + Calamity seems pretty good with their pig irons. That said, I can’t overstate how crappy I think KC is.

Kriel company is weird its either crap or really good. Grim 2 double war wagons is ball busting, Grissel1 seems like she can do something similar, Kolgrima + scattergunners devours infantry.... all else is utter and total crap... or so that is what the internet tells me

Grim 2 double war wagons is ball busting What makes Grim2 and 2 War Wagons ball busting?

Grim 2 double war wagons is ball busting What makes Grim2 and 2 War Wagons ball busting? It hits hard from distance and presents some very difficult pieces to remove. Its not great into every list but there are matchups which it just crushes

It's strange, but it seems like wherever I look for answers to list(no, theme) issues it always seems to end up adding in more battle engines... Trolls, Retribution, Convergence...etcetera. Is it just me?

I think that KC struggles for trolls more from perception than anything. It just doesn't feel right to not be able to crack armor as trolls. I don't think as a community we have any confidence in trying to build a full on gun line in trolls at least when theory crafting. I've built some Gunnbjorn and Grim1/2 lists that worked well in several matchups but I can see where they would struggle against others. I'm going to try pairing my Grim1 list with an armor cracking PoD list in my next tournament and see if it ever hits the table. I think it has really strong assassination potential if killing my opponents army is not going to happen. Just need to reprogram my brain to play like Cygnar(and I play Cygnar like trolls so that may be impossible lol).

We do seem to suffer from a dearth of long-range reasonably accurate shooting, but a snipe caster mostly fixes that.

I want to add in here, Pummler crews are super legit. You can reliably hunt backline models and solos with the AOE’s and they eat infantry that is Arm 16 or less.
Kriel company eats infantry lists. It just struggles into any dedicated armor or shooting denial.

I think that KC struggles for trolls more from perception than anything. It just doesn't feel right to not be able to crack armor as trolls. It's not perception that most of our beasts are P+S15-16 and will struggle to put another heavy down. (There are now two? notable exceptions: Brawler and Mulg, neither of which are available in KC) While I don't believe we need to be able to drop a ton of heavies, being able to do something against 1-2 seems like a reasonable thing to ask. A caster with a damage boost can help with this, but otherwise it puts the list at a very bad disadvantage. Further, locally we don't usually pull out two lists, so I like to do things that are pretty general in their nature, which means being able to drop that 1-2 heavies. With a tournament you can mitigate that problem at bit further, but I think it's still an issue. Finally, I must admit to feeling a bit disappointed in mkII because of the changes to the two lights: Pyre/Slag AND the drop in fury on a number of our beasts. Unlike a number of other factions, I really feel like our beasts are built around the idea that they will be getting some sort of boost. I'm fine with PP changing the way this works, not so fine with them not also bumping up the P+S of the beasts while they were doing it.

Absolutely, but in Mk3 a list can have a ton of infantry but still have multiple heavies and/or battle engines for which you need armor cracking. I missed that myself when first evaluating Kriel Company.

Ah for the days of MK2 when Burrowers Point Blank guns could be Blood Fury-ed...perfect for MK3 KC now!
PP did give Arcane Tempest units in SotT "Pistoleer", a damage buff, so there may be some hope for some units in KC?
