Hooch hauler oil barrel is a trap. With only an 8" range aoe 4 it's there to help the hooch hauler and that's it. But the hooch itself feels like it needs the lookouts to help hit things. Is it really? 8" aoe + repo 3 means its 11" away from what it wanted to tag and then its probably got stumbling drunk raiders in the way afterwards. It does seem to need help hitting though for it to be truly reliable

HHH is now applicable in Kriel Company!
How does this change your guys' opinions on the Hauler? I'm still not entirely convinced that it has enough utility to outweigh the war wagon, but I'd love to get it to work.

I was toying around with a HHH+WW list with horgle2 earlier but I didn't really like what I came up with. I do like Sluggers with Horgle2 so maybe this will be worth considering conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0DgLfm04jq6G9m0l0mj5fK09j3Trollbloods Army - 74 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company (Horgle 2) Horgle, the Anvil [+29] - Glacier King [35] - Winter Troll [8] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Dannon Blythe & Bull [5] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Pummeler Crew [0(6)] Trollkin Sluggers (max) [10] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18]

HHH+doubleraiders+northkin elder is a solid option for melee presence in a ranged theme. Definitely makes me consider some lists I wouldn't have before...
Madrak2 -Bomber -Storm Troll -Runebearer (free) 2x fell caller (free) Hooch Hauler Min. Krielstone+Northkin Elder Min. Pyg Lookouts Northkin Raiders Northkin Raiders Sons of Bragg Berserking/overtaking hooch hauler, and mat9/rat8 ps13 weaponmaster raiders should be good fun. SoB+lookouts could easily be swapped for a war wagon and feralgeist.

On the other hand a cloud of stumbling drunk Raiders sounds horrible for many opponents to work through.

It's big enough that that half inch annulus is still going to be a substantial amount of territory on the table. I say go for it!

I got my first game with a Hooch Hauler in last night and it performed quite well. It was a lot of fun to play and even helped against heavier armor targets. It wiped out groups of single wound infantry.
I played this list: Bearka - Rok - Pyre Troll - Swamp Troll Hooch Hauler Horthol Trollkin Champion Hero Fell Caller Hero Gundrun the Wanderer Long Riders (max) Fire Eaters Krielstone (min) + Elder
Against a Convergence list as my friend wanted to try out his prime axiom. We discovered much to his disappointment that when I transfer damage from one of his tow cables, it does not in fact drag Bearka because Bearka didn't take the damage to trigger the drag. Is that correct? That is how we played it. Also, the Oil from the Hooch Hauler gets applied in the AOE on hit, then its own damage is boosted correct?
He was playing something like this: Eminient Configurator Orion - Prime Axion - Cipher - Conservator - Corollary - Mitigator - Galvanizer - Monitor and a crap ton of the little floaty ball things of various types...that die in droves to fierly AOEs targeting easy to hit warjacks and they all also die to cavalry impact attacks.
Long story short, dice was not on my opponents side as he just had a bad night and everything he tried to do just fell short with dice rolling. I think overall he ended up killing one of my fire eaters...the entire game. Eventually, I was able to oil up his warcaster by targeting an adjacent model and he ended up dieing to the fire roll on the next turn. Cavalry charges were involved in softening him up too. Gundrun held a flank all on his own against a heavy and two light warjacks. Fun game, until my opponents dice made him super frustrated, then I just felt bad.

No Bearka would be dragged in even if he transfers the damage.

Okay, thanks, we played that wrong then. Just so you're aware whelps spawning can stop you being dragged as they spawn before you're pulled in, but obviously that only works on beasts.
From my understanding Stumbling drunk also works in terms of you get shot and you can Stumble behind a model so you aren't dragged in. That said Stumbling drunk is random so I wouldn't rely on it.

I'm growing to love this list. It's working wonders for me so far.
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North
(Grim 1) Grim Angus [+29] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Eilish Garrity, the Occultist [5] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18]
Every time I've played the Hauler it's gotten a whole bunch of work done. Thumbs up!

I was setting on 4 transfers and the game was over the following round from fire killing his caster so it probably wouldn't have mattered anyhow since I had 3 pristine beasts as transfer targets at that point. But it is good to know the actual interaction. I knew that transfer was damage only, but since drag trigged on damage and not hit, we didn't know if it worked or not and we decided it didn't. Thanks for the clarification.
