I am on a 50 game challange with her and after 30 games i would say she is one of the best all corner casters in Troll i have ever played. I played 2 tournaments with her in Pod and one in Sotn and depending on the list she really differs in playstyle. Her biggest strength in my opionion is that she always feels that she got a game into almost everything. So it s not really a list chicken. Are you one-listing the tournaments, then, or do you bring another list as a fig leaf? I figured she'd have a bit of trouble going against legion and Skorne gunlines that have good access to eyeless sight. I've just got mine and not even assembled her yet, though, so I'm all theory machine at the moment.

Her feat shuts down gunlines hard. And legion gunlines generally don't shoot or hit hard enough to win on attrition before or after the feat. Rasheth fart theme will fare better, but it's still a game where player skill will most likely determine winner. Legion wants no part of kolgrimma generally.

New list I plan on trying when I get some time: conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0bj19DiRiYiYjp7h0hjq7d6Rfp0k0mTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Power of Dhunia (Kolgrima 1) Kolgrima Stonetruth, Winter Witch [+28] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Earthborn Dire Troll [14] - Ice Troll [9] - Ice Troll [9] - Mulg the Ancient [22] - Storm Troll [9] - Troll Axer [10] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Janissa Stonetide [0(4)] Troll Whelps [0(4)] Dhunian Knot [6] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] I've been struggling with getting a bomber back into my list, always 1 point short, but then I realized if I minned the stone I could turn an EBDT into double Ice Troll, which has similar outputs (pow 15 with cold damage aura, 18 with rage) and 15-18" threat instead of 17-19". Not sure if I'll find the time to come to a verdict on it in time for Kingdomcon but I think its interesting.

Does it make you nervous to be so dependent on cold damage? What do you do when your opponent has Storm lists or a cold immune caster? I keep wanting to double down with K and a glacier King, but the idea of running into cold immune stuff scares me a lot in that case.

Eh, pretty much the only cold immune you'll see nowadays is the Troll mirror (which I think my Madrak can generically beat) and Circle teching with Winter Argus (which I already probably want to play Madrak into if they have Baldur2). Sorscha1/2 don't want to play into cold immune mirror and neither does Zerkova. The Vayls haven't been particularly popular either.

Depending on your list I would not say that kolgrima has trouble vs cold immune. Sure if their opponent caster is immune to cold your assassination is off the table but kolgrima s tool box is deep enough to ignore it. And a lot of cold immune models will struggle vs kolgrima like sorcha or vayl cause a lot of their tools depend on cold too and our old lady is cold immune too

How much of that changes if the immunities changes come through?

How much of that changes if the immunities changes come through? The immunity changes are not ever happening as per the latest dev talk.

Say what? Must have missed that somehow as I've been watching those dev talks religiously.
So why put us through all that nonsense if they're not changing anything?
Blimey.

He shoot 12" instead of 10", is better at clearing infantry,+2 armor, does something even if he does not hit. This list will struggle in scenario and I can't see a lot of lists beside Nemo3 where I would play kolgrima instead of madrak1.

Played Kolgrima 3 times today going 2-1 for the first of 3 heats for Kingdomcon.
Game 1 I played into Denny in Broken Coast and threw scenario because I mixed up what scored which type of zones and gave up a massive attrition lead. I blame jet lag but regardless of whether I was bad or sleepy the matchup was definitely a good one. Idk how I would have felt playing Madrak1 but I wasn't forced into list chicken because they were playing Scaverous not Gaspy3.
Games 2 and 3 I played into the same pair - Orion and Axis. They might very well have been the same lists. By playing both of these matchups with Kolgrima I feel VERY good about the CoC matchup. Sure the cloud wall doesn't work so well into Orion but if you only present fury-less beasts and spread to minimize ground pounders you can set yourself up for a HUGE hit back. Orion you can match his feat with a cloud wall / poke with sprays and you can reliably feat out one or both TEPs and set up to kill them on the following turn (if you can't catch both you just deny juicy targets from the one that can shoot.
I keep waffling between Madrak and Kolgrima where I think one is amazing and the other is garbage, hopefully over the course of the weekend I'll get a better picture of both.

I assume you mean Axis here. Interesting games. What was the Orion lists? If he has 2-3 Assimilators the feat shouldn't be that scary range-wise (because you play POD). In melee you actually out threat him with Hunters Mark and Rush so I can see why you feel comfortable in the matchup.

That was meant to say Axis. Yeah he had 3 Assimilators and a Monitor as the core of his gunline. He hadn't seen the puppet strings arcane vortex trick so he thought I couldn't get Mulg up the board without him feating him down. Instead he only half killed (and majorly pissed off) the old bastard.

What is a puppet master arcane vortex trick? How do those two things interact?
