Really liking your series here, making me think of buying into a bones list or trying Baldur1 in The Wild Hunt, just done know what models to start with (got that A.D.D. on games) Considering the current ADR choices I think Baldur 1 has some potential there I can verify he is actually pretty excellent as a gunline drop as long as you have sentry stones Thanks for reading! I keep thinking Baldur1 in Wild Hunt. Reeves, Skinwalkers seem to like him.

Hey everyone another day, another battle report. I think this was a fairly interesting report. I wont give any spoilers so just read and you'll see what I mean. Lists:I was playing Baldur 1 as I really need more practice with him. Baldur-CotW -Wilder -Megs -2 Stalkers -Feral -Pureblood -Gorax 2 Wayfarers Lord of the Feast Shifting Stones He was playing a ist he choose to start using in ADR he has not decided what he wants for specialists yet. Borka2: PoD -Runebearer -Rok -Mulg -2 Maulers -Ice Troll (proxied by impaler) -Axer 2 Batches of Whelps Max Stone -Northkin Elder Deployment and Scenario:
Scenario was Outlast. (Yeah I know almost no chance of scoring haha) I won the roll to go first and he chose sides. It did not really matter as the board was fairly symmetrical this time around and the central obstruction was off to the side. I put this there on purpose to see how baldur does when the central terrain is not directly in the middle of the table. My opponent deploys one unit of whelps and leaves the other in reserve. Borka begins the game with battle charged up thanks to PoD theme. Turn 1: Circle:
I run like a mad man. Baldur pops solid ground, drops 4 fury, and charges Bearka. Bearka:
Runebearer activates first, harmonious exalts Borka. Borka activates next pops snow shrowd. Dumps everything else into the stone and moves forward, the re-positions forward more. Everything else except the stone runs. The stone pops speed, walks forward and awakens to be at 6 Fury. To be continued! IMG_3505.jpg (154.24 KB) IMG_3506.jpg (152.62 KB) IMG_3507.jpg (162.62 KB)

Turn 2:Circle:I upkeep solid ground for free thanks to the wilder. I notice Borka is just within 13 of both stalkers camping nothing. I can get 1 blacklad there but need a 9 to hit with hunters mark. (def 16) I decide I may need the wayfarers in the next turn or 2 and go against this plan. The Brown stalker walks next to the house. LotF runs to be annoying. Maybe he will get to the stone? -__- I decide to fish for a crit knockdown on Borka with megs, just to see, because If I get it I just hunters mark and win. But I miss needing a boosted 9 and the boosted blast damage does nothing to Bearka. Most of the rest of my army just positions. My pureblood boosts a spray at rock but misses hilariously. He is bait to try and get Rok to commit. My plan this turn is to force him to feat first. Because in this match up he who feats first loses right? Baldur activates. Plops a forest down so a rushed mulg or mauler cannot get to my stalker. without trampling. Making killing my heavies less likely. Baldur camps 2 and ends his activation. My wilder bases the flag. Borka:
I know whats about to happen here, and I am hoping it does predictably. I lose the pureblood, Get 2 heavies shoved in my face (Rok and a mauler or Mulg) and Borka feats. I have a plan to deal with this, but Ill go into it next turn. Its super cheeky. Borka activates first, puts rush on Rok and the left Mauler, charges the white stalker, Bops him with the initial and does a chunk of damage but not too much because he rolls low. He misses the bought attack puts a fury into the stone and Feats, re-positions away and I miss the free strike. He is camping 1 Fury. Roke Obliterates the Pureblood but has to buy to full. The mauler tramples, buys 4 attacks into megalith but horrible rolling means megalith takes virtually no damage. The axer puts rush on the ice troll and waddles up. The ice troll pops animus, boosts spear at the LotF and hits but a boosted damage roll is horribly low and only does 3 damage. (dice of 4 is a good chance to one shot.) Whelps run in to support. stone pops speed, awakens to full, and gets everything in bubble. Mulg runs up to be withing 4 of borka to trigger arcane vortex. Score: Trolls: 1, Circle: 0
Turn 3: Circle:
Muwahaha just as planned, he has activated my trap card, a whelp with an oddly fish liked head Yells "ITS A TRAP!" I prepare to enact my master plan and gleefully activate the stoneshaper who puts enrage on megalith. Megalith activates, boosts to hit a 2 handed throw into the mauler hits and....rolls double ones for the strength test....the mauler rolls a 6...ok bad start but we are ok. We can recover from that right? Feral activates, warps strength, Attempts a 2 handed throw on rok. Boosts to hit needing a 5 and.....misses.....All is lost all is lost abort abort!!!!!!! I decide my best chance to win now is to assassinate borka. Baldur puts Stone Strength and primal on the white stalker and feats. He charges borka, boosts to it, and does a pretty solid amount of damage. The gorax puts primal on the brown stalker. Stones port him int, he boosts to hit and boosts damage triggering borka to transfer. (Dice -2 thanks to defiant rage) The white stalker walks up to borka, boosts to hit and damage with the sword, Dice +1, needs to do 10 damage, rolls a 9. *sigh* well...you know...I had a cool plan....) Borka:
Stone activates, pops warrior model strength buff. Borka bops baldur on the head and baldur dies in one shot. with boxcars on the damage roll. Poetic in a way.... IMG_3508.jpg (166.69 KB) IMG_3509.JPG (165.23 KB) IMG_3510.jpg (162.68 KB)

Here is a beautiful image of baldur getting mauled by a bear: *sniff* Just brings tears to your eyes doesn't it? Now for some after report thoughts: Match up:I actually think this was a good drop for baldur. I threat just about as far, though less consistently, His mat 6 beasts struggle to kill my def 14 wolves. Rok and Mulg cause issues with Mat 7 and just raw tankiness. But overall I think because I went first I can bait the feat and counter-feat and win. Had I not rolled so horribly on my last turn, I would have chucked both heavies away, feated, backed off, and then hit him with a full alpha the next turn more than likely killing almost all his heavies. This was a game of chicken, and I really do think had I not rolled so bad I would have won since my opponent feated first. Kruger 2 probably has more game, but honestly at this point I just think Kruger 2 has better game into most of the lists I am going to face with this pairing :/ Game Mistakes:I probably should have just gone for the assassination bottom of 1. 9's make me nervous though, and If I miss those I give up my 2 wayfarers for nothing meaning I am out-threatened the rest of the game. Otherwise I think most of the issues this game were dice. List Thoughts:
Had I been able to actually throw those heavies away I think I would have finally watched this list do what it does best, kill other heavies and go all out for 1 turn. I wish I could have seen that set up, but alas, it was not means to be. Scenario was irrelevant this game so one of the major weaknesses of the list did not come up. This list is for sure my jack/beast spam drop. I am gonna hate being out threatened in some match ups, but the feat fixes that in a lot of cases. IMG_3511.JPG (142.25 KB)

Ok everyone so here is the First report of the day. My closest store had its first event in a long time and we had a great showing, mostly thanks to the Advanced Maneuvers team. Bunch of really great guys who came and supported our smaller community! here is a link to their channel. www.youtube.com/user/TaodarkFor reference the Lists you all had finally voted on that I took where the following: Kruger2: Bones of Orboros-Megalith-2 Wardens-2 WyrdsFulcrum2 Wayfarers2 Stoneshapers2 Sentry StonesShifting StonesGobber ChefBaldur1: Call of the Wild-Megalith-Pureblood-Feral-Gorax-2 Stalkers-Wilder2 WayfarersStone-shaperLord of the Feast Shifting StonesMy First round I played against Iron Lich W from the advanced Maneuvers team. It was a blast and a super fun game. He had a dark host list under Gaspy if I remeber correctly and a Dark industries List under Venethrax. I dropped Kruger expecting him to run Dark host, and he dropped Venethrax which I was actually pretty excited to play into as it seemed like a fun list. To the Best of My Memory: Venethrax-2 Desecrators-Harrower - 4 Shrikes-2 Deathrippers
- Stalker-Withershadow Combine2 Necrotechs 2 warwich Sirens2 Machine WraithsHe won the roll off and chose to go first. The scenario was Breakdown. The table was pretty symmetrical so I just picked the side I was already standing on. Deployment: Sentry Stones go into the round zones on either side. Rest of my army deploys mostly centrally but I skew just slightly to the left. You can't see it in the pic but my awesome gobber chef is way off on the right next to bis wayfrer buddy. Turn 1:
Cryx:
He runs... a Lot. Venethrax puts up Terminal Velocity and Lamentation. Circle: I choose to be a bit more conservative in my turn. Going second with a gunline has some serious perks. Sentry Stones generate fury. A shrike on the left is in spray range of my manikins if I move up. I go for it boost the spray and doe a decent amount of damage. The right side manikins can spray the machine wraith and kill it. The left warden walks forward. Casts Lightning storm on top of the manikin and Kills it but makes the cute little AOE of Nope. He puts up his animus. The right warden tramples and pops his animus. creating fort Kreuger. Fulcrum lobs a fireball at the stalker in the rubble and lights him on fire. Megs moves up and TK's the fulcrum. Wyrds just move up. Krueger moves up and pops windstorm. Hiding behind the Building. Shifting stones port up and wayfarers and the gobber hide behind forests. To be continues for pictures. IMG_4365.JPG (139.27 KB) IMG_4366.JPG (134.68 KB) IMG_4367.JPG (136.34 KB)

Turn 2: Cryx:My opponent decides he is going to do his best to shove models forward and jam with his free bonejacks to buy a turn so Venethrax can get into lamentation range of Krueger.(windstorm shuts down his shooting game) He also wants to shut down my ability to score this turn. Shrikes Kill a few manikins and sprint to jam. Everything else just kind of runs including venethrax. Circle:
Manikins get created and Fury is generated for my sentry stones. Fulcrum fills up on fury. My left unit of manikins aim and spray, killing the machine wraith and doing some decent damage to the shrike. The manikin in melee misses its melee attack. The right unit Gangs up on the shrike in the zone with 3 charges but fail to kill it. My wayfer tries to finish it of but leaves it on a couple boxes and kills 2 manikins in the process (doh...) Gobber chef runs to the top of the round zone and faces towards my table edge to charge whatever moves into the zone. Left warden beast the snot out of the shrike in front of him. Blue based wyrd eats the other shrike with lazers after aiming. The other wyrd aims and shoots the deathripper doing a decent amount of damage. The right warden gets enrage and walks up to the shrike. He kills it with the Chain attack smite after boosting to hit all 3 attacks. The other shaper enrages megalith. Fulcrum blasts a lightning bolt at the Harrower and a firebomb and does a few points but nothing huge. Stones port Megs into melee with the desecrator and he kills it. He then Buys an attack into the Harrower and does about 6 damage. Kruger feats, pushign everything back. Moves out of Lamentation range and TK's megalith back a bit. He also casts Windstorm and camps 2. Turn 3:
Cryx:His Harrower is SPD 0 thanks to weight of stone and the feat. (hehe) Venethrax upkeeps Lamentation Allocates nothing. The harrower charges megalith and does a few points of damage. Venethrax charges the warden and wiffs a bit camping all 6 of his remaining focus. The Left Dececrator shoots my warden but does nothing meaningful. The Right Siren walks up and tries to spray the manikin and warfarer but misses the wayfarer needing a 8. She does kill the manikin though. The Shrike walks up to the wayfarer and hits after boosting (rolling only 2 dice thanks to crippled head) but fails to kill thanks to a horrible damage roll. Everything else just kind of hobbles forward, hindered by my feat. To be continued!! IMG_4368.JPG (135.46 KB) IMG_4370.JPG (144.08 KB) IMG_4369.JPG (145.58 KB)

Circle:Well thanks to Venthraxes feat turn there is not too much I can do this turn. Shifting stones serenity some fury. Krueger cuts for 3. Manikins get placed, Sentry Stones dial up fury. The right manikin kills the Siren with a boosted charge attack. The Gobber chef kill the Shrike with a backstab charge (WOOHOOO) FUlcrum moves up and shoots at some backline models killing a Necrotech and Lighting venethrax on fire. A stoneshpaer pulls a fury off of megalith. Megs moves up and leaves the Harrower with only his cortex not crippled. The other shapaer enrages my left warden. The Warden hits all initials as well as the smite, and slams the Descrator 2" away leaving him in really rough shape. Manikins cripple the deathripper and kill a necrotech with sprays and melee attacks. The wayfarer kills the Deathripper on the left with a charge attack. Woldwyrds do a few more damage to the Desecrator leaving it on 4 boxes. The blue one also kills the warwich siren. Krueger fires a shot into the Desecrator and boosts damage, killing it with a big spike at dice off 9. Score: Circle: 2, Cryx: 0Turn 4: Cryx:Venethrax upkeeps lamentation. Deathripper bites megalith doing 2 damage. Withershadow Combine Lob a mortality at megalith and....miss...ouch. Nomming on megaliths ankle. The harrower waps megalith to almost 0 effect. Venethrax himself kills megalith needing to buy a lot of attacks because of some below average rolling. He camps 3 because woldwyrds. The Stalker kills my left wayferer. Score: Circle: 3, Cryx: 0 Circle: Manikins spawn, Sentry stones generate fury. I just have to kill the stalker. I send in manikins first, and hilariously two boosted charge attacks kill it...wohoo manikins. Score: Circle: 5, Cryx: 0Victory By scenarioIMG_4371.JPG (140.05 KB) IMG_4372.JPG (140.85 KB) IMG_4373.JPG (138.75 KB)

The next fight is a circle match up and...well you will see. *a note here, I would like to apologize to my opponent here. there is a point in this report where I tilted really really hard. Thank you to my opponent for keeping good spirits and being a great sport. I feel pretty bad for tilting and Its something I am working on as a player.* *second note, some of my pictures are posting upside down. Sorry for that guys. I am gonna try getting that fixed*
I am feeling pretty good after that last fight. It was an awesome game and Iron Lich was a great opponent. I looked at my opponents list and I had a bit of a concern gnawing at me. He had a tanith wild hunt list so I knew he was not dropping that thanks to krueger 2 (that happens a lot) but his other list was Una2 with a metric but load of birds and a single pureblood and gorax. Needless to say neither of my lists could really deal with this well. Krueger does not have the volume of attack to kill enough birds before they shred me and the wardens are not durable enough to face tank a bird or 2. I also don't have a mist speaker meaning stealth gives me fits. The Baldur 1 list is just not an option. Tracker ignores the forest I typically use to play the trade game unfairly and Def 15 with only primal as my easy way to apply a mat fixer is not an option. I decided to drop Krueger 2 and play for Assassination first, Scenario Second. His list to the best of my memory was: Una2: Call of the Wild-Pureblood-Gorax-6 Scarsfells-2 Razorwings-2 Rotterhorns-Wilder2 units of stones2 wayfarersScenario was recon 2. Both of us picked the stockpile objective. He won the roll off, chose to go first and I chose the side without the obstruction in zone to try and force him to stay in the middle of the table. Deployment: He mostly deploys skewed to the left. this scenario is going to be really hard to push for Krueger but I cannot make an assassination plan obvious or he will just keep Una way back. I decide to deploy counter to him but this is a mistake. I should have just deployed to my right hard and left a sentry stone to contest for a turn or 2. Turn 1:Una2He runs literally everything including his caster who drops all her fury. * I had a picture for this but It keeps posting upside down...working on what could be causing the issue.* Kruger:
I decide I don't need to commit right away and stay out of his threat range with his feat. I pull the sentry stones back and throw out some sprays and a huge wall of lightning AOE's to prevent him from moving any farther forward. I kill manikins in the process. In hindsight I don't need to do this. I just needed to stay out of his threat and use the lightning screen on turn 2 along with my feat to force him to pop his feat. I do a bit of damage to some birds and kill a shifting stone. To be continued! IMG_4374.JPG (187.99 KB) IMG_4376.JPG (192.98 KB)

Turn 2:
Una2: He moves up just outside of my lightning field. Popping Elusive on all the scarsfells.
*saved for picture*
Krueger: He only has one scarsefll in the right zone, so I can go up by 2 points in my turn and start forcing a scenario issue for him to have to start committing. The issue is...I have to shift my entire army to the right side of the table and its impossible to avoid his threat ranges even with my feat. My fulcrum is ported to within 5" of the scarsfell in the zone and murders it. Gobber bases the flag and The rest of my army just shuffles a bit. I use tramples and TK to get the wardens and megs as far right as possible. I use manikins to contest his zone and jam a bit trying to protect my sentry stone. Krueger feats and TK's the wyrds as well as himself. Score: Krueger: 2, Una: 0 *saved for picture*
Turn 3:
Una2: Una 2 activates pops feat, puts HOV on one bird and kills a jamming manikin with a gunshot under black penny. She camps 2. A razorwing runs and engages my far left warden. A single scarsfell with hand of fate kills the warden. Gorax primals another scarsfell. That scarsfell single-handedly kills the other warden. (flank from razorwing engaging the other warden) Another razorwing walks to the fulcrum and does 1 point of damage but does not buy any attacks. A single scarsfell kills the fulcrum in 2 shots. He kills some manikins and runs the wilder to his flag. The pure blood warps ghostly and sprays a shifting stone and kills it and does 6 damage to my objective as well. Score: Krueger: 3, Una2: 2
*forgot to take picture because of tilt*
Krueger: I am tilting hard right now, I have lost 2 heavies and my Battle engine to 3 8 point models and...well that's just insane. I am in charge range of every other model in his army and cannot feasibly remove birds enough to play attrition. I decide to go for an assassination run. Krueger cannot see una because of the forest and the pureblood is in the way. I place manikins poorly leaving one that could spray una in melee with a wayfarer...*sigh* I try to use another manikin to kill the wayfarer with a fully boosted charge but I leave him on 3 boxes. Kruger boosts a TK at the pureblood and misses, so I boost another TK and hit, turning him around and leaving space for a signle wyrd to walk and not be engaged by anything. Megs tramples up and Boosts a lightning storm at Una2, hitting and doing 6 damage. A wayfarer walks up and sprays her needing an 8 to hit...rolls double 4's crit knockdown...wow. Now all my tilting looks really stupid, because I just won the game with the absolute perfect roll. A knockdown una with 2 transfers and 4 boxes left is a dead una when there is a woldwyrd that can walk and shoot her. The wyrd forces both transfers boosting damage and kills her with the last shot.
Victory by caster assasination
Dice are dice. I need to get used to that and stop tilting when dice happen. I made an anus of myself this game and I really should have lost. I learned a lot though. I need a list in my pairing that can play this match up. Una 2 and Oracle has a lot of things in common, I think this current pairing just has 0 answers for either of them.
