The issue here is: I don't play Cryx. I have suspicions as to what may be too strong or too weak or even not working at all, but I can't test them. I assume others have similar issues.

i hope all this information is also going up on the CID forums... I think the meme would give the devs a good laugh...

All of the Cryx players that spent the troll and gator CIDs acting like traffic cops but now are advocating for yet more over-the-top stuff are really getting annoying...

I dont get it. there are some there that are telling them to nerf cryx: decestrator +1 pt, why do i always have to tech for cryx. and then there are some telling them not to nerf them: leave denny alone. isnt that every CID cycle? also, how did you not expect/how are you surprised at this? i looked at the battle reports section last night and there were only like, 10 reports. how is everyone not running and writing a report with how many people hate denny1? All the Cryx players I know refuse to test it.
They know Skarre3 is broken and the Denny1 nerf isn't enough so don't want to give any feedback. They did the same thing when testing Dark Host. Hence why it's tearing up the game.

Crowdsourcing gave us Boaty MacBoatface so... it's sad to hear about it but not exactly unexpected.

But that's an enjoyable example of the fine British tradition of taking the p*ss in a humorous way (not necessarily very funny humour, but the intention's there), with people recognising that it was an example of a PR person coming up with quite a patronising way of trying to drum up publicity and interest (rather than, for example, explaining the rather interesting things the ship might be doing). Not that I'm ever an advocate for crowd-sourcing. I'm more of the Pratchett school - the intelligence of a crowd is the intelligence of its most stupid member divided by the number of members.

I imagine it’s tough to get games in. Non-Cryx players don’t want to play against those blatantly OP units, and Cryx players don’t want to play a nerfed model. Then those playrs need to get the Firetruck off the CID forum. There's literally no value in their presence there.

Thats why I am just proxiying all my models. Too many people go "wow 'OP hope it stays that way" and just sit back and ignore it. Its why dark host was an utter failure.

It's a general issue with CID. The people playing [faction] are the only ones who can really get in reports with it, but are also biased towards it.

I guess its more of a problem of expectations. Trolls have low expectations so even improvements that just make it nicer are valued allot. Cryx has very high expectations so even game-changing elements for other factions are just another tool in the toolset for it.

I fully intend to participate in this CID cycle. I have played Cryx on the side a bit over the years and am passingly familiar with the models/rules. And this current crop of proposed models is seriously making me reconsider my faction choice. That's not a "Cryx is OP" cry, but rather I see a ton of stuff with interesting rules and complex interactions. Some stuff at a glance seems pretty darned stupid (looking at you, Skarre3, Ogryn, Tough almost literally everywhere now, and living model Faction-wide Dodge/Sucker!) but so much looks fun. I am actually excited to dig into a few of these this weekend and have some fun games.

New up in CID for week 2:
Revenant Crew of the Atramentous & Revenant Crew Rifleman: We've had our eye on the Revenant Crew for some time. About 5 months ago we made the statment that we would let the players attempt to sort out the high end tournament lists. To allow players to 'tech' for lists and solve the issues found in them with what was currently available to them in the game. We feel that enough time has passed and it has been shown that while some factions can certainly bring lists that can answer Ghost Fleet it is an difficult task. There are many factions that have a very hard time dealing with the many pressures Ghost Fleet can apply. Below we have our first baby step in attempting to releive some of the pressure that Ghost Fleet applies to the game. Reducing the speed of the Revenant Crew will do a few things to reduce the power level of the list. First off, it will make going second against the list easier. Removing 2" off of the first turn run of the crew will give the second player a much easier time advancing up the board. Secondly, its a very clear threat range reduction on both the ranged attacks and the melee charges of the list. Thirdly, it reduces the affectiveness of hanging a single member of the unit at the back of the table by decreasing the range at which returned models can affect the board.
Removing Point-Blank reduces the offensive output of the unit in close combat and specifically makes them utilize debuffs significantly less efficiently.
PLEASE NOTE: One of our goals with this unit is to keep the ability to act the turn they are returned to play. It is a rare rule that we feel really gives this unit a niche and differentiates it from the pack. If it turns out we are not comfortable with the balance of the unit however, this is a road we are willing to explore, but not at this time. Please test these current changes, we are aware of the power level of a rule like that and do not require feedback on it at this time.
SPD 5. Cut Point-Blank.
DISCUSS!
