Wait, I bought it again, under the assumption that I'd just refund it if it was just a copy pasta. Just to be extra clear, are you saying the WMH decks are supposed to include CoI for free? No, sorry about that but it seems I got misinformed, so forget what I wrote before. The information comes from a friend of mine, who red it somewhere on the Coi facebook group that it's just a bug. It turned out it isn't, because the stat cards in the CoI mode will be ... that will require new deck purchases.
MacDaddy: "Seems like a lame cash grab for people." +1
Thanks for the clarification. Probably gonna get that refund then. I'd wished it'd at least have the rules like the PDF for WMH...but nope.

Wait, what? I thought CoI would just use the normal stat cards from Warmachine/Hordes, and any rules changes would be in the actual rulebook. But you have to buy all new decks?
Man if that's true, my interest in CoI just tanked hard.

Man if that's true, my interest in CoI just tanked hard. Yep me too. I was even going to buy the new boxes set. Now I am not. This reminds me too much of games Workshop crap. Looks like I’ll be using my models for This is not a test. Rules releases now. Really really disappointed with this

The CoI decks are 3 bucks US and the CoI mode lets you attach jacks and beasts to commander solos, select your commander upgrade, and calculates your hand size. That seems well worth a couple extra bucks to support the development of a game that isn't forcing you to buy any new models. How anyone is willing to get worked up over the price of a couple candy bars in this hobby is beyond me.

Because nothing until this point (that I'm aware of) indicated that you'd need to buy your cards all over again to play. Just the rulebook.
I mean the added functionality is nice, but superfluous. I don't need an App to do that, I can just do it by hand. But I do need the cards.

As in, charge me for the utility of the new system I am not fine paying for something I already payed for which is: all the faction cards. It just seems very greedy

Gotta admit, 20 bucks for the full range of cards make it a non "day one purchase" for me.
Maybe when they include the rules and the full deck of cards (and let me use the app to draw and play cards) I'll buy it.

I Don't want to sound condescending, but i don't see why we're complaining about $20. I'm pretty sure most of us have spent 6x that on a single model. It's a drop in the bucket and if it supports privateer press (who are not all that rich) I'm part with it.
Hell, i could spend $20 at taco bell and regret that decision more i would bring now COI cards.

Hiding a minigame that uses the models we already own behind a paywall is cash-grab bullshit no better than microtransactions in a video game. PP is becoming the new 'bad guy' wargame company.

They've obviously put a lot of effort into making this game, that's time and money their part. I don't see why we would expect everything for free. It's not a lot of money and I'm happy to compensate PP so they can continue to develop game(s) i enjoy

I mean i purchased all the cards cause I'm prone to bad decisions but i agree. I don't see why the cards are so expensive. And they better be on the card database as well. I went through the protectorate cards and the only card that really changed was the monolith bearer with greater destiny now giving you command cards

The cards (for the game and war room) cost money and the figures cost money ( they are not free just because you already own them) so that about covers it. They made this game primarily to encourage people to buy small squads of any faction rather than just the one you own. Its not some crazy altruistic gesture, which is fine but making you buy the same cards again is straight up crap.

Yeah, this is BS. What is the point of making the cards the exact same as regular warmachine and then charging me again for the exact same cards.
Yeah this is Bad Guy stuff.

Are the rules and cards available online anywhere to see if the game even looks interesting before buying into it?
