I dont think he will have the same weapons. Look at the Shockies CA. He has an extra PoW and Crit freeze. I think they may carry that through. Also, Its all about options. You advance into position and lob grenades. I think Quick work is just to help against jammers. Not about doing melee work themselves. I think they will do more dmg by shooting a unit.

Even a unit with RNG 14 gun is struggle to use Dual Shot. Then what do you expect for a unit with RNG 10? I had rather give the Officer Granted: Far Strike instead.

I would expect RAT6, not 7. Otherwise looks good on first (untested) impressions! Cheers, Dave The Shocktrooper CA got a +1 to MAT and RAT compared to the Shocktrooper grunt. In the September 5th Insider Will Pagani gave some stats that indicated that the Bombardiers would have a RAT of 6 instead of their listed RAT 5. The quoted (the quoted effective RAT 8) - (the +2 Aiming Bonus) = RAT 6 That and the +1 to MAT and RAT for being the officer is reflected in the stats for this guy. I'm not saying that either of us are right or wrong, that's just how I got to the stat numbers I did. We'll see what they are in the CID.

Maybe the extra POW and Critical Freeze is to account for Tactics: Steady and Tactics: Sturdy being nice, but not that tremendous of advantages? Or maybe the extra POW and Critical Freeze are there just to make the model more fluffy. "Hey, you know what would be cool? Give the CA a Frost Axe like the Juggernaut!" Maybe the Bombardier Officer's fluffy weapon would be a Rip Saw blade like the Decimator?

Plus they have arcing shot, and a caster that lets them ignore intervening friendlies

Hi Blarg, I noticed the same thing, so thought they'd get a RAT buff, but in the other thread someone mentioned that Will admitted he'd made a maths error on that bit and they were staying at RAT5. Overall I'm liking the look of them. Get forward into some terrain that can provide some DEF against ranged and is in a good spot scenario-wise. Quick Work helps them continue shooting if anything tries to jam them up, and Dual Shot lets them have a big round of attacks at some point in the game. Cheers, Dave

They changed rat with aim in insider from 8 back to 7. Even a unit with RNG 14 gun is struggle to use Dual Shot. Then what do you expect for a unit with RNG 10? I had rather give the Officer Granted: Far Strike instead. Ehh, it's okay. Both snipe and double shot feats are usable. Generally how this will work is shockies will go forward and bombers will shoot from behind. Snipe can also be a power level issue since we'll have an 18" arcing CRA of caster kills that can be further improved by buffs.

I think the Rat of the Officer is off. Everything else looks fine...
...no really. I like it. the increase in attacks and flexibility make them great. good enough to be worth a Buff. I want to HOF and Feat on those Guys with Vlad2, They are situational good in most situations. If you desperate Pace them they can cross quite a bit of terrain, and an opponent can't stay in their aiming rng without taking heavy dmg.
Hope the demo corps has a similar UA, something that increases attacks and maybe survivability a bit

You already have Winter Guard Rifle Corps who have 20" threat range, and also able to put up to POW 20, by only 13 points, and I don't think that you will use them more than minimum unit and some WAs. I don't think that RNG 14 on Bombardiers would make any balance issue.

The original post has been edited to reflect a RAT of 6 after it was revealed Pagani sucks at simple math.
I like Will, but I didn't know that 5+2=7 was hard for him...

I guess we should give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he forgot the officer was +1 MAT and RAT compared to the rest of the schmucks.

I am in the camp that while RNG 12 does do a lot for the Bombardiers, their UA is not verry well put together. The UA grants 3 abilities; none of which can be used in conjunction... that is just ineligent and downright useless IMO.
Clearcut on a SPD 4 unit (alright 4+2" if you Kovnic them) makes them unbearably slow if they try and slog through a forest or rough terain. having them run through the forrest actually moves them the same distance and does not require the UA.
Quick Work I like on the unit, and I hope it stays, but it conflicts with Clearcut which wants a normal advance; and Duel Shot which wants then to sacrifice to aim.
Duel Shot will be dificult to pull off as teh Bombardiers will want to be moving every turn at SPD 4 to keep up with the battle. Not a bad mini-feat in most respects, and could be devastating if you get enough of them into position the turn before, but still difficult to pull off.
If this goes into CID I will be advocating for a more cohesive pacage that does a simmilar thing: lets the Bombardiers position themselves easier and increases their number of attacks.
Possibilities would include: -Relentless Charge -Native Pathfinder -Bushwhack -Duel Attack -Assault -Keeping Quick Work
