Add the keyword iron fang to the Warjack. Not sure what will happen but looks interesting in a LoS theme. All models are iron fangs, even jacks. I would be fine with that: It will get for example precision strike from the kovnik, going trough friendly IF from markov and maybe another ability from Sonia. Isn't a completely mad idea. It would fix most of the issues in one sweep.

Not sure how Tough would work on a warjack; I guess you get to pick which damage box he gets back? So you can choose cortex or right arm? Not sure how useful that is. Well, I guess if there's mechanics around you heal the cortex and then fix the arm. I don't think there's any warjacks or warbeasts with Tough currently though?

I'm also not a fan of making the Spriggain a Iron Fang.
I wouldn't mind Bulldoze being replaced with Cavalry though.
But Primarily I want to settle on a WANTED point scale, and then what amount of Ranged/Melee Capabilities it will have.
Then design it.
A 19 Point Spriggain with 50 Melee/50 Ranged will be way different to a 16 Point Spriggain with 75Melee/25 Ranged

Honestly, if it kept all of its current rules and was 16 points I'd probably be taking them just for the anti-stealth to stay in theme for WGK. However, if they allow merc entries into themes I'd need some adjustment of its rules to make it compete for a spot in lists instead of Reinholdt.

It's nice to have 2" reach on a weapon, but have we grown so accustomed to not having reach on all of our other non-character warjacks that have accepted 1" melee range as "being Khador" and dropped interest in the benefits of 2" reach? Yes. And 1" is already twice as good as 0.5, which was why previously it was valued so high. Were the Juggernaut to still only have 0.5" reach, you might saw people consider the Spriggan and even Beast 09 more. As it stands reach just isn't that big of a deal anymore. Relatively speaking.

Yes please, make it a warjack-cavalry rule abomination, maybe then it will justify the cost.

A 19 Point Spriggain with 50 Melee/50 Ranged will be way different to a 16 Point Spriggain with 75Melee/25 Ranged I think our chance to have the Spriggan redone in a CID is going to be during the Man-O-War CID. Since Sorscha3 just got leaked I'm guessing that the CID will be coming soon. (Some of you guys will probably know better than me when it will be coming.) I suggest that we start to work out some suggested variations that can be presented to PP. If PP decides to include the Spriggan before we can suggest it we should have an idea of how to react to it ahead of time. Remember that for Privateer Press fluff and function take precedence over game mechanics. So we need to figure out basic directions that the Spriggan can go towards before we start nailing down specifics. Here is a list to start the ball rolling, if there is a direction that I have missed please reply with a suggestion: 1) Stays 19 points and same mission profile, improve performance and special rules to match the price. 2) Small drop in point cost and same mission profile, slight improvement in performance and special rules to match the price. 3) Drop in point cost and same mission profile, no change in stats or rules. 4) Change mission profile to Iron Fang warjack, change in rules and price to follow suit. 5) Change mission profile to Man-O-War warjack, change in rules and price to follow suit. 6) Change mission profile to Assault Kommando warjack, change in rules and price to follow suit. 7) Change mission profile to Shield Wall / Armored Assault warjack, change in rules and price to follow suit. 8) Change mission profile to Unstoppable Assault warjack, change in rules and price to follow suit. Have I missed any? Do you have any suggestions on how to make any of the suggested mission profiles work?

I think that our cheap jacks (Juggernaut and Marauder, and even the Kodiak and Destroyer) are so good now that, even if the Spriggan was worth 19 points, it still wouldn't see much use; quantity is a quality all it's own and all that. Just look at the Grolar: great jack with fantastic abilities, rarely taken. In other words I think that the Spriggan would see more use if the price was dropped than if the abilities were improved. The problem is you run the risk of squeezing out Torch even further from the game if you go below 18, so I guess you would need to balance them both together; and possibly the Grolar as well? I dunno.

My 2 cents.
1. 18 points 2. MAT 8 3. Add Assault. 4. Replace Poweful Charge with an Armor Piercing star attack on the lance.
With a premium point cost, I want premium melee. This is not a gun platform jack. I'd pay 18 points for a POW 18 AP bullet with several casters. Now I have a reason to take this jack...extreme armor cracking with a reliable attack stat. If you let him get to your caster you have a dead caster, and with bulldoze that's going to be a consideration. Even if your caster lacks a speed buff you could put him in Malakov 1 for a SPD 6, ARM 21, P&S 20 Armor Piercing wreckinging machine. So if you've got your Arm 24 centurion? Ok, my first attack is 3 dice plus 8!
Having it as a star attack would keep it from being too OP I think.
Thoughts?

Would still be totally nuts with, say, Sorscha2. As in "holy shit what" nuts.
Take him under Andy1 and watch him almost one-shot colossals if the dice gods favour you a little.
Heavies will just be deleted.

Will be getting our AP guns sooner or later on kommandos or mows I think. S2 will have her time to shine.
Mat 8 on a non-character is not happening.
If Spriggan gets AP attack it still won't one-round a heavy unless you spike really well on that attack or commit a buff to it. So not that much of an improvement. Well at least you can hope live the dream and spike that roll.
I really like the idea of giving it a special attack that feels "lancey" and AP is probably the only one that does.

I dunno dude. A a program with AP under malakov1 and recline is 20. With s2 and boundless charge it would threaten a lot! And have a lot of potential damage!

What about an AP attack that requires a 3" charge?
