I don't even get what are they're trying to do. Count me out... 6" moving Cloud Wall that dies with extremelly squishy model. And somehow this is viewed as an improvement by PP Defensive tech. Lol.

they seem pretty set on not actually giving them anything overly interesting besides puppet master, or changing them much. but i also haven't seen any battle reports that are testing them well. I'm with chilly on FA. this isn't skorne. we don't want support bloat. especially not squishy ones. i take my "cloud wall" against a real gun line ie cygnar. oh, they are all dead 2nd turn? great. that went well.
edit: a backline cloud wall could be useful with certain casters. i should at least test it.

I mostly agree, but there is not much to test TBH. They're Puppet master bots. All other stuff they've given to them is laughable and they core stats are pathetic. Either you play assassination caster and see value in PM in this one CK run or you don't take them. Period. FA:3 is really weird. We can't afford to pay 7 points for support unless it's crucial. Aaand I'm done.

Well, I don't know what to do now. I feel like it's a ploy, to make the haters want ice cage back because this is so bad.

Im not a fan of this change. Puppet master is solid still but vortex and ice bolt are a straight up nerf to a unit i was already on the fence about.
Ice bolt- crit stationary pow 12 at magic ability 6. Lose spray. Even with puppet master not feeling it.
Summon vortex- lose inate snow wreathed for a spell that creates a 3 inch cloud on model then dissappears if it dies. Are witches supposed to be frontline battle mages/screeners?
Im still forming my thoughts but this is my initial knee jerk reaction.

They aren't a cloudwall. They are a concealment wall, meant to go between models and the cloud also has an accuracy debuff, so it keeps working in melee.
Still not great, but I think that's the intended use of the move.

For pure support... Innate: Force Barrier Spells: Puppet Master Ice Cage Disbanding
And BFS to have Banishing Ward in place of Disbanding.
For a 'Battle Mage' feel Innate: Prowl Spells: Summon Vortex Ice Cage Frost Hammer
I am not a fan of Hybrid due to the difficulty to balance (either your too good at everything or suck at everything or priced right). IDK - what ideas would you guys like to toss at the CID?

My personal wish. Make them actually useful but limit their FA. Make them the defensive version of the BFS.
Character unit. Each has Ice cage and Puppet master. Then each get a unique spell - Blizzard, Reconnaissance, Wind wall.

I don't know why so many care about the FA:3... Optifex Directive and Choir also have it and nobody has a problem with that.
What we should focus on instead imho is either lowering their point cost or making them strong enough to be worthy 7pts. Force barrier e.g. would be a good step into the latter direction.

Yea, but the choir has more than one use. these guys are puppet master bots, and the change made it even worse.
