Ladies, ladies, ladies! Please, stop arguing over who is better between Vlad1 and Old Witch2. How well each warcaster plays depends on three interlocking factors:
1) The army you put them in. 2) The army they go up against. 3) The player playing the Khador army.
They are both good. They are both *very* different from each other.
Vlad1 is a known quantity: give him an army, he makes whatever is within 14" perform a lot better. If the army doesn't do it and dies off, he switches gears to "Beast Mode: Engaged" and kills the enemy himself. He also looks good in the process - very important. ("It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how good you look in the process." - David Lee Roth)
Instead of talking about how good she is, we should all be good Kommanders in service to the Empress and helping each other figure out different army builds and ways to run her against different enemies. That, I believe, is more important and meaningful.
Let the trail of dead enemy bodies the Old Witch2 leaves in her wake be her testament to how good she is as a warcaster.

I think Windstorm is much better than Windwall actually, as it not only effects non-Magic and Magic shooting, but Sprays and potentially AOEs as well. If you have a model with a 12" range gun, at SPD6 outside of her 18" bubble, they move in 6 and then shoot 7", anything within 5" of the Witch is safe, even from Sprays, likewise an AOE will not be able to be floated on top of her and when it scatters she just sends it the wrong way. Windwall is great, but offered little in the end against Sprays and AOEs, and in those cases, your guys were all clumped up to benefit from the "protection" anyway. Sprays are universally unaffected by range decreases (Or increases). What you listed was again eat stuff but as I pointed out already: What else is she doing on the turn that she has her super windstorm up? Probably only allocating focus to jacks at best because she will lack the range in order to debuff anything. Maybe hitting something with a crow gun. Thats it. Koldun lords would prevent most sprays from working. Only ones which would be useful would be the 10 inch ones. I've tried it a few times and it does shut down sprays rather well. Comboed with wind storm allows us to deliver doom reavers rather well.

Hi folks, So I've finally got a few games in with Old Witch 2 and I'm impressed! I think I'm narrowing in on a list that can play into both Cygnar and Cryx, but need to test into some more casters instead of relying mostly on theorymachine. To me this really opens up the second list to being a lot more focused on the remaining factions that OW2 doesn't happen to cover alongside Cryx and Cygnar. To me, each turn has so many options for what to do, and feat turn rocks! Last game I made use of all 5 machineries on feat turn and it was excellent. Outside of that I think the only one I've not used on a "normal" turn has been Power Magnifier (the allocation one, name might be wrong). All the rest have seen use depending on what's needed. I'm sure there is use in Power Magnifier too, it just hasn't happened to come up for me yet. Her spell list is solid, though I've not cast Scourge so far (though I have thought about it). Reconstruct is brilliant, Behemoth being my favourite target so far, though a clam jack is nice for scenario. Boundless Charge is great for lots of stuff when you have the option of casting it for 1 focus and from further away. Eliminators are solid for it as well as her jacks, plus I'd like to try drakhuns/ulhans. Curse of Shadows is a great little damage buff with some extra utility too. Finally Windstorm can really mess hard with folk and keeps her and her support particularly safe. It also helps keep her other stuff safer when the control range is extended, and is useful at normal control range too. Bonus points for using Reconstruct to shift Behemoth backwards out of range due to Windstorm and nearer mechaniks The initial CiD gun nerf was a bone of contention for me, but looking back it was too powerful originally. I think they've found a nice spot for it on power level now though. Nice utility, but doesn't totally overshadow everything else she does. She feels about right defense-wise and her melee is decent, but not to be played around I don't think. Overall I'm very happy! Now I just need to find a list to pair with her (and tweak her list a little). What's everyone else thinking after a few games? Cheers, Dave P.S. As an aside, I tried the battle mechanik officer for the first time in MKIII yesterday. He actually impressed quite a lot!

Waiting for the model to come out. But I really want to try her with a&H and Hutchuck if the merc theme combos hold through CID. Future sight looks like the only thing in faction that will make me like decimators past the battle box. In so many ways she feels like the caster Zerkova I should have been.

Decimators! Yes! I can see bringing two (and maybe a Grolar). They will just love her feat and Power Magnifier.

I'd say 15 and POW 17 on their guns. Maybe replace Beatback with Thunder Charge instead.
