OK. What _I_ like about her is her 24 inch assination threat range. It really is RIDICULOUS and argues, I think, for WG theme because rockets are life. The Run goes like this Witch activates Feats (all the machinary turns on) Witch casts BC on her self for 1 focus Charges 11 (if within 12 we add a Carrion Crow Shot). Which we can reroll. If we hit with that we will reverse order of Scourge/Curse. Scourge Next. Likely boosted so now we have used 4 focus We boost damage (5 focus) We then apply Curse of Shadows. We now have a knocked down, ARM -2 caster who also could be blind. Apply shots to face and GG. The threat is live every turn. Now you gotta get the math right cause you will be in a position to die horribly if you don't but many casters will be in a world of hurt. Of course GETTING to a caster will be hard. But screens will be at a previous and absent them - sad opponent. A small mistake I think is you have to suceed your charge. She can't trample so if she doesn't connect her charge her activation ends. The Assasination thread is still very long. Doomreavers sound like a bad idea imo. Because in reality she won't protect them if you don't hold them back. With AD and move they are to far up the board and you can't really cover them with Windstorm. While she certainly can run everything she will be best in a WG-Theme. Sadly I don't see her run very differently from Vlad1, just because she wants some Jacks too and Rockets are also really nice. as Armchair Warrior said she can run everything. It will take some time to see what is really good with her. For example Jaws and Assasinse just sounds...cute but they are already protected and they still can't charge into the enemy backarc very good. to break it down: - Boundless charge is good with Jacks and thinks like Eliminators, Drakhuns and maybe Uhlans. But mostly jacks which means she likes marshelled jacks or Andrej - Curse of Shadows is good with EVERYTHING Khador. Especially good with uhlans. - Reconstruct: Especially good with Devestators, but just in general an awesome spell for Attriton and Scenario - Scourge: Nice for Assasination, Excells with Rng Dmg - Windstorm: Good protection for her, and everything that matches her speed, so nothing thats particularly fast gets protected. Her Arcane machinerys are pretty obvious. That means can help bascially anything but her protection only helps things that are close. Uhlans might profit a bit more, but not enough to put her in LoS for me Additonally the WG-theme helps protect her while Jaws just doesn't to much at all. She gets free Forge Seers but I am not so sure she needs them, except for marshalling Range Jacks like her hit buffs but without Forge Seers they are not very effective. Maybe the extremes like Decimators or Grolars could be nice to really use all her support, but in the End its going to be Destroyers and Behemoth (if in Jaws). That said I am really excited for her and going to player in jaws and WG to try her out

No matter what you pick giving jack a boundless and then loading it is 3 focus. Doesn't seem particularly effective for going all-jack. She's really good at helping marshalled jacks though with boundless and debuffs.
Something like: OW2 -Behemoth -Rager -Juggy 2x Seer + Destroyer Full kayazi Widowmakers min mechs

Vlad sports a brutal attrition game, but any smart player can keep his caster safe from an assassination, Now with Bland and Scourage at my disposal, your DEF 15 caster standing behind a wall is totally screwed if you left a defender on the other side of the walk within 4". Or I can just run my own guy up and keep my back to the OW.! It's really good. In Jaws, I agree she probably only wants 5 jacks...maybe 6 if you're spamming cheap ones... with infantry filling out the package. In the playtesting, consensus was that it's really easy for an opponent to premeasure against boundless charge, but if my Eliminators are keeping you that far back then I got something just for packing the heat. I have not tried Kossites, but if any caster in our stable wants Yuri, 2 free manhunters (instead of the Seers) plus Kossites it's Zevanna. If anyone actually tries this out please post your experience. For now it's on my to do list but I probably won't get a chance to try it out before Gencon. (Man, im hoping she's on presale there).

That's actually an interesting thought about Yuri and the manhunters. For the reccord I'm still mad at PP that Yuri can't be one of the free solo in jaws. Now that being said, yeah old witch seems to want her jacks in BG for power magnifier so the forge seer use is limited. Cost 1 boundless charge also don't sound too bad for Yuri & co and curse of shadow is actually a good damage buff that works on all of them instead of being inneficient like all our other damage buff. You got a specific list in mind Armchair? With free theme force goodies, 13 points for yuri, two manhunters and a min unit of kossite doesn't actually sound that bad. Well ok Kossite are still put to shame by all the cool ambushing stuff that's in CID, but Old Witch looks like she might actually make them work.

Just curious, why not put the rager on one of the forge seers? And why the rager at all, with wind storm OW should be ok against shooting for pretty much the entire game. OW2 needs some shield guard to not be constrained by need of casting wind storm every turn. Hence the Rager. I'm not sure 1 is enough, maybe Juggy should be second one instead, he's taken to fill points for bonus UA anyway. Destroyers are better on Seers due to how OW2 spell list interacts with marshalling. You can either Curse for pseudo pow 18 rat 8 boosted damage with Blessed or Boundless for pseudo pow 19 3 attacks Blessed. This is better than using them in her bg (no Blessed and 2 less pow there). The math for foc is Curse + wind wall + Behemoth fuel = 7 foc, you don't get to fuel anything else unless you're feating, you don't even get to upkeep reconstruct or boost attacks which is why I said earlier casting wind wall each turn is a problem. You can't make spells cheaper and Curse or you'll get charged. And feating should be saved for big melee or assassination turn. Sylys in theme will fix all this but he's far away from being allowed currently. In damage terms Curse + Behemoth + 2x marshalled Destroyers + snipers = averages at 1 dead heavy per turn, so you don't need more big guns than this.

I don't think going for two ragers is a good idea, that's 22 points that won't be doing much work and can blow up in your face if they try to do some work. I think investing in more mechanic would be a cheaper alternative to the second rager and be a good deterent to shooting. Old Witch is on the tankier side and being reparable means she can take some hit and still not be too vulnerable if she gets shot.

I'm starting to wonder how well she'd run MoWs. They're slow enough to stay in her Windstorm bubble.

I think the high cost of protecting her from getting hit with range attacks strongly argues in favor of WG. Having sac pawn targets for high quality guns (she can take POW 10s and then use mechanics to heal up). THAT said there is no reason one could not, in a game where shooting is a problem and where you need the focus) to play her front lip just over the 10 inch line. You have efficient ways (BC, One focus for 2) of fueling jacks so should you wish not to bring our WG grunts there are options. I really want to see our themes for MoW and Occult (Doomies, Greylords). How about MoW with Shield guard ;-)

I'm kinda hoping shield guard will be an ability of the large based MoWs they teased.

Wait they teased large based MoW? When? where? This Mornings Keynote at LL, Heavy MoW's with 2 sheilds large base and 2 miniguns built into the sheild, a MoW Battle engine with a giant cannon and a MoW on it and another heavy MoW with something that looks like a railgun on one shoulder.
