So one thing that keeps the Khador community going and comparably tight knit is thread for general chatter and shooting the breeze. So let's do that here.
How's everyone doing? Played any good games lately? Looking forward to Game of Thrones? Picked up some new minis?

I saw bile thralls on the board recently at a local tournament. The guy sent them up the flank in a forest, sent bane riders up the other flank, and babe warriors up the middle. I didn't see the ending, but from what I heard his opponent focused on the bane and let the bills get in purge distance of his Irusk. Irusk did not survive.

Honestly I think the latest dynamic update has made Bile Thralls playable now where before I saw no reason to take them over Cephalyx Overlords out of theme and no compelling reason to play them in IM most of the time. Now that we can take the corpses of cheap garbage like Mechanithralls and turn them into new Bile Thralls I think the units becomes much more interesting. Whereas before I would never consider playing Necrosurgeons or Bile Thralls at all and never consider bringing Max Mechanithralls, only bringing them in Min units for Brutes, but after the Surgeon changes I've been actively trying to figure out the best way to make these units work

The buff to thralls is pretty sweet. I'm wondering how long they have been considering it. If the charge from Bane Thrall to Bane Warrior is a coincidence or planned to take this change into account as a possibility.
Now if only bloats worked a little better. I was thinking they might be good for setting up Carrion Thrall for a charge at multi wound models.

Oh yeah, I totally love the change. Haven't put my Biles on the table in so long. But yeah, this really seems like a reason to run thrall-heavy (like, Mechanithralls, Carrions, and Biles) and take two units of Surgeons (especially because Surgeons will collect from any living or undead model in your army that dies). The amount of conversion is great! In my head anyway. And with some 'casters and against some lists you won't even need to purge, just debuff and spray down the 'jacks. For example, Parasite/Calamity and Dark Shroud.
I've mostly run out of primered Cryx models to paint, and I'm still on a roll with the faction so I'm assembling stuff that's been sitting in boxes or broken for too long, so I can primer and get back to painting. Just did 3 Brutes, now it's on to Carrion Thralls, Aiakos2, Mortenabra2, Karbydis, and a Seether...then it's back to painting. Probably will start with the Brutes and Carrions, so I can work them into my Infernal Machine lists.
Also I got to try out the new Wraith Engine and Bane Riders rules, under Gaspy3. Bane Riders are back! Woo!

Very excited about Bane Riders as well, but I don't want to play the bane theme.
How abouts sepulcher? Seems good now. I just got a Kraken kit, and as I really dont like magnetizing, Im thinking seppy a bit..

I just got a Kraken kit, and as I really dont like magnetizing, Im thinking seppy a bit.. So I didn't play in the Bane theme, just a mixed composition list: Gaspy3 -Leviathan -Scavenger -Cankerworm -Deathripper -Nightwretch 10 Mechanithralls Necrosurgeon 5 Bane Riders Wraith Engine Siren Necrotech I like the way the Sepulcher looks now and I'm tempted to get one (partially for the new kit), but I really think it comes down to the ranged game and what you want out of it. The Kraken is going to be much better at standing off because of the longer ranged guns, unless you can really ensure that nothing (like another colossal) is going to charge the Sepulcher. However it seems like the raw damage output from the Sepulcher is higher.

I have played the sepulcher to great effect using Morty1 and her interface. All those d3 x2 leviathan shots mostly boosted and a tune up from deryliss makes that thing remove a heavy on average at range per turn. Sure it uses all your focus, totally worth it. Unfortunately the range is pretty short for a dedicated range piece. The kraken shoots further and hits harder in melee. But has less ranged damage output.

Fail safe on a colossal will be really good and locomotion on malice will be really good. You have an arc node to get curse of shadows out. Lots of bodies and lots of ways for recursion. You will have not much problem with warjacks or armor, I think high defense will be an issue, but then again, just don't drop this list into circle or everblight then. Oh wait, you have max biles, never mind then, all the bases are covered.

So with the current CID allowing each theme to take a single merc solo & unit what changes. The big one in my mind is Scaverous now getting Croe & Wrong Eye in theme. Non-Deneghra Ghost Fleet lists can take Saxon now I guess. I feel like Deneghra Ghost Fleet probably drops the free Pistol Wraith in favor for either Gorman, Midwinter, or Ragman if you're playing a non Wraith Engine list. Is anything else major opened up by this?

This link makes most theme benefits (including free solos) limited to Faction.

Fun fact - under Agathia1 a single charging revenant with ragman does a POW 16 charge attack and a pow 17 normal, averaging 11(!) damage a revenant vs arm 20! 6 of them can take down a conquest :V.

Where are you getting those numbers from? Agathia's only ARM Debuff is Parasite. Revenants should only be reaching pow 14/15 since the base pows are 9/10 + 3 + 2. Pow 16/17 would Require Deneghra1.

Adding generic mercs to themes, not sure how I feel about that. I was always a proponent of themes are restrictive, get benefits, play out of theme if you want powerful combos with other stuff. But...who am I to argue! Terminus can get his hooker back! Madame Corbeau!
