Maybe you would get more help with the army if you started a new thread.
My advice is to just pack Karchev and some premium jacks. You'll probably lose every game, but at least your army won't weigh much.

Also I played Jaws enough a few years ago to tire of it. The theme has a lot of limitations...

Free Eliminators, Pathfinder for all the 'jacks... and a few years ago Sorscha0 wasn't out yet.

Also no Karchev. He weights like a pound by himself. Fine then, Harkevich clamspam. Take Demolishers to leverage Broadside (and spend more points - more points = less models = less weight). Also, I never suggested Jaws. Go themeless: that way you don't have any acquisition points, meaning less models to lug around.

There's a seasonal auction going on for WMH minis on a certain page. Everything's going more or less as expected, the expensive stuff is getting higher bids, there's always some sucker who -really- wants that one solo from 2006 and bids 20$+ on it..... and then there's Khador. I don't know what the deal is with those guys, but someone there is desperate to get his hands on more warriors for the motherland. I'm seeing Behemoth sitting at 60$, Uhlans and Ruin at 40$, two colossal kits sitting at 60$, and the auction timer hasn't even reached the halfway point. The colossals I can sort of understand, but this is an auction, with pretty expensive shipping might I add, at the prices they're reaching you really might as well buy it directly from PP. Not my problem, but it sure is odd to look at.
Now pray with me that no one becomes this deadset on getting the minis I want...

well, it's over. I got my hands on a TB krielstone elder and a stonebearer for about 6$ each, so I'm content. I can actually run a legal 75 point army now! there was also a sea giant in that auction. I kind of regret not buying it when it was on sale at Minimarket a year ago, but 65$ is still a bit steep for me, especially when I don't really have the means to properly paint and assemble a garg yet. It ended up selling for almost 90$, which is nuts. I think the MOW and Victor went for about 50$ and 110$, respectively, which I guess just goes to show how unsavvy some buyers are. Loki and Ghetorix were also there and sat comfortably at 40$. In contrast the only character heavies I own are Hemera and Despoiler, and I got them for 16$ each. Barnie2 was also on sale, but he went for almost 50$, which is way more than I can and am willing to pay. I'll just have to bide my time until I can get my sweet prince at a reasonable price.
In the end most of this stuff ends up being nothing more than pocket change - I saved maybe 2$ on the minis I bought (and someone got an elder for 3$, which is a bit annoying), but it's another way to keep myself occupied. do any of you enjoy bargain hunting?

Not really; I don't think I'd save enough on stuff I want for it to be worth my time (and I don't want to buy stuff that isn't already on my want list).

I FINALLY finished the last bit of painting on the model I've been working on, but then the varnish went on super-weird. It's not a clouding issue; I applied a gloss varnish over a large gemstone, but when it set it wasn't smooth at all. It's a gemstone, it kind of has to be smooth and shiny. And since the surface is not smooth now, it's not easy to fix. I'm currently trying to softly sand it smooth with a very fine grit sandpaper so I can apply a different brand of gloss varnish on top. Fingers crossed.

Finally got in a game with someone with their own army today. It was a lot of fun, we played his Zaadesh2 vs my Helynna. My list was pretty ramshackle, and I was wiped out handily, but it's good to finally play a game.

Update: After a light sanding, a tiny bit of touch-up paint, and a couple of coats of a different gloss varnish (where the model was carefully balanced in such a way as to help the varnish flow towards the center and create a round gemstone shape while drying), the problem has been solved and the model is now done, shiny smooth gemstones and all. Hopefully I will have a chance to take proper photos later today. To think, I might actually be able to post photos of an actual painted Khador model soon - I can't remember the last time that happened!
... sigh. I am so busy these days. Well, I'm working on something pretty big that's Khador-related, I'm really hoping to finish that in just a few weeks, so maybe I'll have something a little bit interesting to show off then.

Alright! I actually managed to take and post photos! And all I had to do was skip dinner! I created a thread on the painting forum here, please take a look. I promise you the much-hyped gemstone looks much better in real life than in the photos; for some reason the camera didn't capture the blues properly.
