I finally finished her (click on the images for larger photos): I'm not happy with the face: the colours are too strong and I didn't manage to quite get the shapes right. But the colours are better than when I make them too weak, and the linework was the best I could do. Also the sculpt is a little wonky, not really anything I could do about that. Other than that I think everything turned out quite well. The gemstone looks better in real life: for some reason the camera made it look somewhat bright and faded. For that matter the photos aren't all that great to be honest. I want to try again in natural lighting, but that might have to wait for the weekend (and it's going to be a busy weekend, so maybe not). I have posted more photos, including lots of WIP photos and details, and full paint recipes, on my blog.

Very cool conversion work! I have to agree the face could do with some extra contrast, but the colors on the mini are clean enough overall that it should look just fine on the table.
One nitpick - the bare axehead looks out of place. It really would've looked a lot better either with engravings like the original (probably a nightmare to make) or with a gold trim and mass around the gem. It doesn't ruin the model, but it does detract from the overall look.

I wonder if this model could be kitbashed to make a "pinup" Sorscha3...

I did print a version of the axe head with runes, but decided that I didn't like how it turned out and stuck to the rune-less look. I understand what you mean about the trim for the gemstone, I did consider painting the gem housing in brass, but trying to picture it in my head I wasn't convinced that it looked good, so I played it "safe" and went for simple steel. I wonder if this model could be kitbashed to make a "pinup" Sorscha3... I did consider that, but decided that the official S3 model was already very nice (the official Forgeseer model is great, but there's only one model and he's FA2 so...). Having said that, I embedded magnets in the backs of her forearms, so I reckon I could magnetise a small cannon and attach it to her right arm and she would make a pretty decent S3 proxy (MOW armour, a nice Ushanka, and a long-hafted weapon are all in keeping with Sorscha3's distinguishing features). You know, until I get the official S3 model that I already own assembled and painted. Which should be around late 2030 at this rate... Thanks mate!

Every professional photographer will tell you that indirect sunlight is always, always better than artificial light if you want to properly catch an object's colors.

This is a great paintjob, I think the skin is incredible! I also love how the gold has straight and non-muddy edge highlights. I really struggle to get good metal edges these days.

I do tend to edge-highlight very agressively these days; it's not a very realistic look but I do think it's visually pleasing from moderate distances.
