As an active warmachine and Infinity player I disagree that its a big difference here. I view bouth game as rather complex miniature games with a huge backlog of models/profiles and a high skill ceiling. The complexity is a little different though. Warmahordes has rather clean and short basic rules. The complexity is that all the models has a lot different skill/spelles/feat and that they can combo. Infinity has more complex and longer main rules. When you get to the profiles its more easy IMO. The profiles has a lot of the same weapons/skills. The game is also mostly free of combos. And yet those differences are rather big. WMH starts out simple and then piles on complexity while Infinity starts off with all its complexity up front and then then allows it to be simple from there. Infinity does suffer from a similar packaging problem as WMH, but at least it was expected to run a force of Solos on a skirmish level in Infinity instead of relying on units to bull the way through.
One possible side issue that Infinity has when compared to WMH, the size of the models. They aren't heroic scale and when I can fit a model's body wholly within the size of one of my fingers, I feel clumsy even thinking of fitting together something smaller than the average Morat, and my fingers are not exactly overly large for the average wargamer (okay, maybe a little large). Meanwhile, WMH's heroic scale only runs in to problems when handling something like the Nyss Hunters.

I was talking to one of the people at a new LGS that opened up in the last few months about WMH, and he was talking about some of the marketing/selling strategy PP has started doing which makes it entirely unprofitable to carry their merch in the store.
Didn't say anything about not playing it in the store, but from what he said, there was zero chance of them carrying anything without a demonstration of a change in practice. Meanwhile, I'm playing Battletech regularly there, oddly enough.

Also if it means anything to you, i just so happen to think most "rifleman type" units are non-viable too. Yeah, Trenchers are the pinnacle for "riflemen" units, but a lot of that is because of all the tools that they have when out on the table, meanwhile, a lot of other riflemen just seem overcosted for what they provide to the table.
I've been looking in to Warcry, and a lot of the ranged weapons there have a maximum range of 15, meanwhile all of the riflemen in Warmachine are shorter than that, and in most cases MUCH shorter than that. That range rather puts most "riflemen" in to short interactions of "useful while you're right there", and "oh s***, I'm in Melee" with nothing really useful in Melee.
High Shields are one of the few "rifleman" units which actually have benefits in Melee, but not really in a retaliatory mode, just survival. This doesn't really help them stand out in most cases, from what I've seen.

I think that Rhulic sales would improve if they had proper attention and helped diversify their options more. To put it another way, they are a sub-faction that doesn't have strong representation. There are 3 Warcasters and 6 Warjacks. Some of their signature units are hybrids that aren't known for doing any job well. As a group, they have one Theme, though the Warcasters aren't stuck with only that one. Realistically, they either should be pushed in to their own faction separate from Mercs, or be brought up to equity with the non-Rhulic Mercs much like how Minions are split between gators and pigs. Crucible Guard and Grymkin have seen more attention since their inception, aside from the odd Riot Quest model or Minicrate.
As a side note, one other problem is that their clean faces don't really scream out Dwarves to the average passer by. That's always felt off to me.

I noticed the Empyrean having Angels. Interesting...
Were the Angels on Caenn an inspiration or were inspired by these?

The Kingmaker's Army is old, and has not really seen a direct update focused on itself. While it was meant to be a Cygnaran Civil War focus, I think limiting it to this is punishing it for no real reason.
What if the lore behind it is that how it started, but since then, especially with the influx of the Infernals, it has changed to be Magnus' troubleshooting arm that uses more mercenary-style answers to the troubles of Cygnar for purposes of deniability. This may allow some new units and Characters to be added in simply weren't available at the time.
What are some options you think Magnus might include in his new force?
For example, Rahera might be a option, though, I'm less familiar with her story and her play style to say how good an option. Caine's Hellslingers could also be another option (again, how GOOD an option is a different story).
Boomhowler's other iterations could be included, though I don't know how much Riot Quest we want to include, but it could represent a situation where he's not with his company.
For units, I want to make a couple interesting suggestions, and I don't know how well they will fly. From his time with the Four Star group, Magnus would have developed ties to the Kayazy, so being able to employ their Assassins could be good. He may have also developed Idrian contacts to keep an eye on the Protectorate.
I would also add Sword Knights to the list as they are more of the outcasts of Cygnar due to their low tech means.
Now for a possibly crazy idea. Remove Steelhead UNITS from the list, but keep the solos. Allow for Trencher Weapon Crews to be added (more Trenchers would be fun, but do we want this to be Gravediggers mk 2?). All Cygnar units will be considered as Steelhead Mercenary units.
Now here's where I would really start breaking with a little tradition and start looking at the more unlawful of other factions. What if it also included Trollkin Highwaymen and Wanderheart? Brun and Dahlia? Kogan the Exile? Gudrun? Or other more wild outcasts?
Now the last concept. Archons are a big deal right now, and everyone loves them (sort of). Should one be included to keep up? If so, should it be Void, Death, or allow for both, or even allow Primal in to consideration?
What are your thoughts? Are there any other units or solos which might see some better light with this concept that I might have missed and won't be seeing much light in another Theme? How crazy should we set this up, and how much Riot Quest should be considered?

Pretty amazing work. My sole (hah!) point is that the model would look better perhaps if the green was that soul-y blue. Like spooky cherenkov radiation. But it's still ace and more of a personal color preference. Maybe, but it might be too close to the green of the rest of the model. This color allows it to be separated from the rest of the model. It may not be the necrotite green, but I think it works. nyarlathotep333 , a great job, far better job than I have the patience (or current skills) to do.

But your time scale could have us seeing New Year's before your reveal (even though I'm much worse). Lol, very true. Well, my idea is really quite simple this time and I have a little bit of time off coming soon, so hopefully I'll have the unpainted model done by the end of year... Hehe, I jest, but I do hope you have the time to explore it.
As I said, I'm not in a good position to complain, since I only devote a few hours a year to actual hobbying.
Good luck to you!

Oh do tell! Whats the plan? It's a secret! What can I say, I like big reveals... Still waiting on the actual delivery. Living in the "rest of world" has it's downsides as it turns out. But your time scale could have us seeing New Year's before your reveal (even though I'm much worse).

If I didn't already have MacBain, and if MacBain was allowed in the Brawl...
And had the money for new models...

I also like how they gave kudos to what is basically a community-created format. Now if more of the community would get behind such concepts instead of waiting to be hand fed everything from PP. Dude I saw you at the game store once in 6 years because you don't like traffic lights while the community fell apart and you wanna rag on people for not doing anything? I was on the east side up to 3 1/2 years ago. Imperial Outpost was a pain to get to before, it is a pain to get to now. It's even more of a pain if your car is threatening to explode because the people at the light are taking their sweet time to get going. Tabletop is a bit easier to get to, but now we're down to one vehicle.
What nights I did make it to IO, I got 4 games. One was for the JML, which faltered, and then some blokes were nice enough to rework what they brought to fit what I was comfortable doing (AND were faster, allowing for quicker discussion of mistakes). I mention how grateful I am for each of those games when I bring up this topic.
Before that it was Games U, but a lot of that is coordination of schedules (I have a wife and kids I value a bit more) and lack of money to develop my collection (which is still a problem). I've still visited on occasion, especially on Merc Market days, and those that showed an interest in playing were totally hooked on Steamroller as an absolute focus. Before Games U opened, I had lost my job, and a lot of nights at Games U I was on UberEats driving to help make ends meet. Hard to get a game on when you're on call.
So when I talk about the community willing to kick it up, I'm talking about it from someone who is NOT in a position to be leading a build up at present because I have so little experience in the game. That may change if I can get our second car working and make it to Tabletop regularly. I have a few Battleboxes I got on the cheap over time, so it's a place to start, but Tabletop doesn't have Privateer Press product. On the other hand, I have the face for radio and the charisma of the average IT nerd, which is why I don't work sales. I don't know if that is the best type of person to be leading off on that.
But hey, if you want to make assumptions about my life based on your availability and capabilities, that's your choice.
Also consider one more thing: Most of those responses were based on others declaring a need for PP to do everything, while not recognizing that they already had, nor seeming to have any willingness to make alterations themselves. While I recognize the need for a community to do some things, I can't do anything if a community won't budge from a single focus.

It may not be Themes, YET, but new units, kind of like when they added the first Man of War models to Khador. Neo-Mechanika doesn't quite have enough model diversity to make Themes needed for a collection focus.

Also, no offense to Jaden and the rest at LOS, but the idea that an even smaller group of testers would be able to more effectively balance the game is wishful thinking. Well, that's what happened to WH40K and WFB, much smaller groups of players created rulesets that were WAY better balance-wise than out-of-the-box GW (Swedish comp for 40K or balancing patch that spawned ETC rules for WFB...actually saved WFB 7th from being totally unplayable). So my experience is strongly for grassroot initiatives like this in wargames, you just need guys you trust know the game inside-out, not some biased randoms as in CiD. On the other hand I've seen games see horrible results because of a lack of player input. Most are from video games, but they still apply. Just because it should work on paper, doesn't always make it work in practice, especially when there are those people who just like to make situations burn.
Of course, it is easier to get objective feedback from a computer than it is from people. If there was a way to keep politics out of CiD, I'd be all for it, but that would require taking the human component out of it. If CID was mostly Battle Reports with the items in question, that'd probably help, but people always have to add to it.

Caen and the MonPoc universe are connected confirmed.
Now if they are the same universe, or the Dreamer's mind is crossing the boundary in a multiverse is the only question.
