I've not seen solid ground studios before. Pretty darn cool. Those snowy tufts are especially appealing, given my current projects.

Great to see some Rhulfolk! Thor looks awesome. I think his flames look quite good, myself. Although I used a different bit when I painted mine, I also tried a similar effect (with the central gout of flame glowing hotter near the front). The Avalancher does look a little flat, TBH but that may be what you're going for.

Here's an update of the mostly-done, pelt-clad Demo Corps. Not the best pics. There's still quite a bit of black primer showing but I am pleased so far. What I've tried for the first time because of these guys: - Fur pelt sculpting with Green stuff, after watching various vids - Fur painting and washing, "Rainbow" style black-->brown-->tan - Shadowing red armor with red and brown inks - Painting glow hammers! - Painting dark ice bases Thanks for viewing the AC Project progress!

The purple skin gives them an alien appearance, I think in a good way. The stone and gems are looking good.

Thanks. And we certainly agree on the pose. It's such a cool model. Hiding itself behind that giant shield seemed a shame. And I think the guns-a-blazin' pose works okay, too.

Okay, here's the Suppression Tanker tangent I went on, whilst also starting to paint the "furry" Demo Corps. The camera flash is harsh but you can get the gist of how I'm trying to push contrast more than in the past.

Oooh, that's a cool idea. The No Quarters Prime have had some excellent (and some less good) optional terrain elements, usually themed around whichever theme force is the centre of that particular NQP. I remember quite liking the Trencher ones in NQP #1 as being elements that were simple and intuitive enough to slip into even Steamroller games, and the Blindwater ones were a bit more crazy but very cool. Terrain features that hex nearby models, or gather souls that soul-collecting models can take off them. Love it. Not sure if this is the same thing, but I once bought a pack of innocent townspeople with the intent of having them grabbed and thrown into enemies for collateral damage. Just comedic, brutal carnage. I suppose they could be a source of souls or "snacking" too. For simplicity they could literally be fixed "terrain", frozen with fear maybe. Like these... www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/townsfolk/latest/10029I'd love to see a thread like this... of custom terrain ideas.

That's a handy template and concept! I'll probably try press-molding some fur from various sources in the near future. I just attempted to sculpt "like I had a pair" and prepped these Dragos-ified troopers for priming. I'll do what I can with paint to improve them. One shoulder pelt hangs down quite far and one has an attempt at a wolf forearm shape, on which I'll probably add tiny claws.

There's some amazing work out there. I think the Russian one may be the most outrageous. It must have taken a lot of practice with water products - and patience. I was trying to figure it out: Maybe letting some type of water effects harden on a sheet in a pattern, then somehow placing it on the model and building it up with more? Beyond my skill and patience, that's for sure.

I'm with zorrobard47. Reading the fiction (Seacat is still my favorite WM author) and seeing the unique aesthetic created by Matt Wilson and his co-founders such as Brian Snoddy really brings me enjoyment. I'm happy to support a company created and maintained by such talented authors and artists. I somewhat ruefully decided against art as a major in school and although I love the sciences, I've found that painting and modeling Warmachine models has allowed me to make an early love into a meaningful hobby. The demands of my job have me playing the game very little outside of the odd charity tournament so it's largely a personal, artistic activity for me. Summer and Christmas breaks from university are times I especially look forward to "participating" in all that PP has to offer.

That’s terrible! And awesome! Arrows right in that “sucker”! Also, very clean, crisp paint work! Creativity + skill = win.

Well, I'm having trouble with this, but I think I can get these two through. More will follow when I work out my technical difficulties. I'm not entirely pleased with how chalky the OSL got on the leader's belly, but I didn't want to repaint him so I could try it again. The flame is green because I decided in an earlier model to make the booze glow green, which then led to green fire. Apologies for the phone pic, I don't have another camera at the moment. The fire eater Pyg Grunt, above, is my favorite of the three models in the unit. I thinned the orange with a yellow artists ink for the OSL, and it came out really nicely, I thought, for my third model with OSL. I hear you about not wanting to repaint. Adding OSL to a cool model carries some risk! Still, looks pretty good, man! It takes guts to stretch your abilities and skill set like that. And I like the concept, as I said via PM, of having the green flame match the green fluid.

I agree with that attribution sentiment wherever possible. All I knew is that it was an award winner and certainly not mine.
I have plans to share some cinematic effects beyond my own mediocre stuff in this thread. All I can do is see if the original painter is listed with a quick search. Some of the images are simply on my hard drive. I personally think it's flattery rather than an insult to show good work as an example.
And I'm happy to attribute any finished model to it's painter if someone lets me know.
