They're not army books but FWIW, Aeryn Rudel has penned a few books that detail the recent (Mk III) backstory of Cygnar re-entering Llael to fight occupying Khador... Flashpoint, Aftershock and now Stormbreak. The latter has some Crucible Guard story, too. They're available digitally and in print on the PP site, Amazon, etc.
Might want to read Doug Seacat's book Blood of Kings first, for some former story arc wrap up, and to set up for the jump in the timeline, if you're in need of catching up.

Nothing, huh?
Well, my current stock of golds are seriously bad so I'll experiment with the alcohol types to see what's up. Anything will be a step up.

I did Champions yesterday and went 1-3 before dropping. I had Sorscha3 and a very mediocre Vlad2 list, and just dropped Sorscha into everything. My one win was against a Cryx player in Slaughter Fleet; I killed Ragman pretty early on and then just watched his army just bounce off a brick of MoW the whole game. I might have continued, but I hadn’t played in a tournament in a while so 4 games in one day was a little much. I did win best painted army, so we can at least say that Khador won something. I then stayed up until like 6 am in the working on my pieces for the painting competition, so I’m just about to crash from lack of sleep, but I’ll still be around on Sunday, mostly just chilling in the hobby area and might squeeze in an iron arena game or something. Congrats on best painted! Any pics?

Just looking for any brief review/ opinion. I've seem some YouTube videos from solid painters who rave about alcohol-based metallics being super vibrant. (And my current P3 gold tubs have been a thick, dry mess.)
Thanks, guys.

So, with the CID hiatus, when might we see a small collection of new Rhulfolk? I mean, beyond a one-off from RQ. We're still in queue, right? (Yes, I'm spoiled and looking for something like other themes have gotten.)

News from Volningrad says painting is underway on the extra beefy, furry and pointy "Spike Tanker". Meanwhile, a new bits order has enabled Khadoran armorers to build upon some leftover parts to outfit a Bombardier Officer in slightly different gear. (Read: The stock version seems lackluster and I was too cheap to buy it anyway.) Thigh-strapped explosives and an experimental type of ammo accompany a few additional decorations...

Clean work! Cool bases, too. I agree the stompy ice cracking effect is sweet.

I do dork battle and you see curved shields like that on the field once in a while. They really limit your range of movement but I suppose that the suit already does that. Pics or it didn't happen? Fair. Here's a pic. I know that text description didn't help much. Also, regarding GS and sculpting tools, I just used an exacto to make the fur. I do have a standard three piece sculpting set (pointed tip, spatula tip, etc.) but - and this is important - I *suck*. Even my mold making is barely passable. It's why I usually harvest household items for bits rather than trying to sculpt them.

Did you put four different kinds of spikes on him? Or are there more? It looked like some were metal, some the p3 grey/brown stuff, and I'm not sure what the others were made of. This seems like a good time to ask for a picture and description of your favorite sculpting tools. Yeah, I scrounged spikes from everywhere, including harvesting some from old plastic toys. (Actually, the brown ones and the ones at the base of the shield are hacked toys.) I'm not super pleased with the lower ones, so I ordered more like the upper spikes from PP. For consistency. I also continued to go a bit nuts and added substantially to the left shield... I used Oyumaru to mold the shield, green-stuffed a copy, then cut it apart and glued portions to the standard issue shield. It now has sort of a 3-D aspect, whereby it extends 90 degrees backward, protecting the Strike Tanker's flank.

I'd love to see a scratch built 'Crawler! (Did a bit of that myself.) I like the Rhulic aesthetic, though.
In fact, I'm bracing myself for the Rhulic CID to land, bringing new models and a proportionate amount of damage to my wallet. I'm getting everything!

I have, however, made progress on modestly converting the Strike Tanker I got for Christmas. The concept evolution has been: Dragos wears fur --> Rest of my Demo Corps gets fur --> Strike Tanker joins the party. I made him extra barbaric with spiked knees, shoulder, and shields (went a little over the top)...

Thanks, man. I'm actually struggling with what to add to the Suppression Tanker's base. :/ I may have him crashing through something like the Kool-Aid Man. (I'm trying to reserve the all-ice bases for stuff that freezes enemies.)

I've looked into this myself but there's not a ton of conversions specifically for MoW chariots readily out there. At least not by browsing Google images and major forums. It might be the nature of what a chariot actually is. Unlike the enclosed, tanky, more "vehicular" Gun Carriage, the open-air platform-on-wheels aspect of the chariots calls for even more creativity. Here are some text ideas that may help with online image searches... - A dirigible or magical hovercraft - Pulled by Berserkers or large/ magical beasts* - Pushed by a 'jack like a wheelbarrow (skeptical here) - A walker with mechanical legs - Skis instead of wheels and a sail - A boat version on a water base - A third wheel up front and a steam engine for power - A sidecar attached and a steam engine *Like Soul Samurai's MoW T-Rex
