I expect this is exactly WHY Coggs has reload, actually. So he can fill a good portion of what players would want out of their caster attachment even besides the stuff specific to Gearhart. Gearhart basically comes with Reinholdt included. Or at leasst 70% of Reinholdt. Maybe Coggs needs a bowler cap? He needs coarse sand rubbed into his cold dead eyes! Because how hard is it to poach a damn egg!?

Great job with the symbol on the shield! Thanks! I actually had to grind away the cygnar swan from the shield and left shoulder. But I couldn't leave the shield completely blank, so I actually etched in a dividing line between the bolts at the top of the shield and the main area I wanted to paint to make it look like a separate piece, then free-handed the Llaelese emblem on.

Gorman AND Ragman already allowed.
That gets me thinking... probably a silly question, but does Reposition stack?

Also coggs gives reload anyhow. Can you imagine if Reinholdt was allowed too, then!? Double reload!? THREE Spray 10, Pow 14s!? Yes please!

I see what you're saying about the right arm needing more shading. I guess I forgot to do that as I started the OSL on that arm a bit early in the painting.
As for edge highlighting, I think I kind of did that with the horse's armor but forgot to finish with the knight. More a product of me trying to rush again, I think.
Thanks a lot for your feedback. I really apreciate the help and critique so I can get better at painting. As I said, this is only the 3rd model I've ever painted so it's good to know I'm generally on the right track.

Thanks for the feedback, Soul. I wanted to tackle the Storm Lances first, well... mostly because they're what I have at the moment. I've been putting off on collecting more until what I have for this army is painted. I figured the Storm Lances would give me an opportunity to work on painting metal, cloth, details, free hand work, and OSL all at the same time.
As for your critique, where could I have improved on the shading of the metal (other than washing the gold to give it more depth)? And can you elaborate a bit more about your suggestion for more edge highlighting?
I was actually kind of worried that the lance itself wasn't "glowey" enough to give the OSL a proper feel.
I'll definitely need to see if I can get some better pictures up soon.

Working on painting up a Llaelese Resistance army as my first ever fully painted force. This Storm Lance is only the third model I've ever painted, the first was a Mariner and the second was Doc Killingsworth. And my first attempt at OSL. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. I haven't built a light box yet. Also sorry for the odd orientation of the pictures. Not sure why they're turned sideways. However, comments and suggestions most welcome.

I get more of a dieselpunk than steampunk vibe so far, which I like: www.pinterest.co.uk/search/pins/?q=dieselpunkIf I ever get CG (and I can see picking up at least some things for Resistance lists), I'll probably go for a grimy, dystopian kind of look for them. Dieselpunk is still fuel burning with some form of exhaust. The packs they're wearing don't look like they have any kind of exhaust. Battery Punk? Alchemy Punk?

I didn't see anything new. Care to elaborate? One of the pictures contains a Crucible model but I didn't see anything exactly "new".

A couple of the Warmachine novels actually cover the Llaelese war and the resistance.

I just now got the model in my hand, and in all honesty... I think I like the old alternate sculpt more. Still, this would look amazing when painted by a skilled artist; personally I don't think I have the skill to do it justice. Maybe someday. You know, I had the exact same thought. I REALLY like the model, but I think I like the flag-waving alt sculpt more... which is a shame because with a great paint job, this sculpt will definitely stand out.

I definitely recommend photographingyour models on a grey background as opposed to white. White backgrounds can cause some digital cameras to darken the subject even further. And dark paint jobs on a black background wouldn't photograph so great either.

the source is the pp minicrate site. You have to subscribe by the 19th of that month to get the model. looks like they have the month incorrect on the site though. should be fixed in a couple days when PP gets to work on monday. Maybe Im blind but i checked the mini crate website amd did mot see the preview of the model. Also, I know for a fact that I had to subscribe before Dec 19 to get Ashlynn in Jan. And Pitt Bradigan is confirmed for Feb. To get him, you had to have subscribed by Jan 19. So... Feb 19 SHOULD be the deadline for the March model.

You got a source for this?
I also think there might be an error with the dates. I thought you had to subscribe to mini-crate by the 19th on the month prior in order to receive the upcoming model?
Dec 19 for Ashes to Ashlynn in Jan Jan 19 for Pitt Bradigan in Feb Feb 19 for Voctoria Pendrake in Mar???
Or am I missing something?

Now that people have thier hands on the model, does anyone have any plans for how they want to base her?
