I've been absent and will largely continue to be (Work has kept me from the tables so I've been disconnected from the game). However, A few high and low notes from me on the drop:
1. Kreoss 2: I'm still super dissatisfied with sacrosanct knocking things down after they kill us instead of something more preventative. I play against waaay too much steady/rise/no sleeping/battle engines to care about this. even then, being knocked down means you auto hit them with the caster that has an auto hit feat. Countercharge would be an incredible spell on a jack caster but creates a dichotomy in an infantry one, while most casters put forth now are very focused at doing one job very well and are often just better for it. I brought both of these points up repeatedly in CID, but they were ignored. Other than that everything's pretty good to go.
2. FoS: Well that came out of nowhere. Glad to see that the complaints that dispel was useless as a bond with one of the magic hatiest characters in the game was moot were heard. Relentless charge, though...wow. Also, finally represented in the exemplar theme force. Harbinger with FoS, anyone?
3. Indictor: MENOTH DAMN IT! It was PERFECT. I was finally tagging people with aura for Firetruck'S SAKE! Why'd they have to go and make it small again? people will, once again, forget it exists and forget it was ever a rule, and any attempts to bring up the point will be met with "we are not accepting input at this time. banned." Especially now that its point value is equivalent to Fire of Salvation.
4. Purifier: I told you guys. I told the CID forum. I told PP. I told everyone, over and over, it needed a role that wasn't "dervish, but...y'know, worse". And lo and behold, after I lost hope they'd care, we get a fast, utility scenario piece with the rare and highly valuable beat back ability(on two weapons, no less!). I am now glad I held on to and magnetized the purifier bits of my triple pack of plastic dervishes a while back. Just gotta figure out how it fits into lists.
5. Cinerators: Still mildly annoyed that shield wall is the CA part of them, as it makes him a mandatory add on and point of failure. Won't stop my from buying at least one and getting them all out there.
6. Errants: Mark target might be cool if I can ever get them to charge infantry and kill something, but for the most part that just doesn't seem to happen. honestly, I'm just happy that purity isn't stupid anymore. That particular ability was one of those that made you say "Hey PP, I know you're not taking advice or whatever, but does this REALLY need that much thought?" took way too long but I guess I have it now?
7. Vengers: I honestly thought they'd written off vengers as destined to just kinda suck. Battle driven has always been contentious, but now it at least does something sensible by actually putting us ABOVE other unbuffed cavalry.
8. Gade: sniper....*drools*.............Wuh? sorry, I face waaaayyyyy too many troll players.
9. Gravus: I'll be honest, I hate wargames that over rely on characters(are they just dying every fight and then magically getting better?), metal scuplts (harder to glue, bendy, ill fitting, easier to scratch, too much detail for my taste), and horses (more expensive, harder to store, balancing on two tiny, easily broken hooves that may or may not be flat on teh base). So I don't wanna buy Gravus.
I'm gonna buy Gravus.
10. Faithful Masses: sounds like PP finally realized that they screwed up with the free points thing and anyone who doesn't contribute never gets taken anymore. Not only will Hand of Silence contribute to free points, he does so in the theme with lots of delicious, easily released souls. Looking forward to how it plays under several casters.
11. Guardians of the Temple has a Temple to Guard!
