Very nice. Quick for a battle engine, good ancillary effects for both offense and support, and a good array of weapons. Pretty durable too at a reasonable cost.
I have a couple criticisms: I think the damage on the left and right guns is either too high or the spray is too big. This seems to be a running theme lately with PP - huge sprays with big POW's on them. With how quick this thing is that means a an enormous threat with those sprays. The main gun i'm okay with this because its not a spray so there's deviation involved, but getting north of 15" threat range with sprays is a little much. I'd like to see the the range come down or the pow come down. By proxy the flamethrower i'm fine with because its a lower POW, though with auto continuous fire i wouldn't be opposed to a drop to Spray range 6. 12+ inch threat on a template weapon with on hit continuous fire when its an ancillary attack is still very good.
Past that i really like it. Has a variety of uses and isn't relegated solely to an offensive engine (which for the cost and limitations of battle engines, in my estimation, they have to offer more than just a few attacks to be worthwhile). I really like how its a big expensive piece that can stay relevant all game long - on approach with its support and long range guns, and then after the lines collide it can still maintain 100% offensive output and still offer support. Good stuff. Fine tuning of the sprays notwithstanding, this is a nice looking model that offers a lot without being bullshit over the top.
Regarding McKay : seems interesting, but too early to tell if he'll be good or not. I like the idea of a battle engine caster (though my wallet does not), and the mortar thing is pretty neat. Feat seems incredibly good. We'll see.
I like that Prospero will be a journeyman, and the info about the jacks is all very interesting !

Some stats are unexpected.. SPD 6, MAT/RAT 6. A good main gun but comes out as a close range BE with no abilities to make him really atractive... Warrior models beware

Well, i mean, one of these gives a positively enormous area of concealment. Concealment is ignored by a bunch of stuff, but its still not ignored by more.
Bulldoze on a SPD6 entity is good for a variety of reasons. I do agree its an engine meant to keep moving forward and doesn't suffer from getting stuck in. It's definitely got an emphasis on short to medium range with a bit of long range for good measure.
Concealment on approach with bulldoze fits in with the theme of a "tank", which is to say a close infantry support armor and artillery piece.
Curious, for warrior models, what would you like to see or were hoping to see that wouldn't also make the engine too powerful ?
EDIT: Wait, i think i misunderstood ; jsidrio, you're noting this thing is a threat to warrior models not that it doesn't support them. Sorry i got the jist of what you were saying wrong with the "without any attractive abilities" combining with "warrior models beware".
I am starting to wonder how this thing deals with armor though. I wonder if trading some range and / or power on the sprays is worth bumping the main gun up to 16 ? That would at least get it up into the area where it can do credible damage to armor 20 on average / above average dice.

I can imagine a Billy Mays infomercial for this thing
'Hi Billy Mays here bringing you another fantastic battle engine! It burns! It freezes! It dissolves! thanks to the Rail-less Interceptor, difficult infantry is a thing of the past!'

Yes, I meant it deals with most warrior models.
With the spoiled feat I the original post it will deal with armor as well. Spoiler combo!

Gotcha!
Yeah I keep forgetting that this is a debuff faction and we've yet to see all the pieces here. 15 POW with access to a couple stacking buffs / debuffs can get ugly for armor in a hurry.
Looking forward to seeing the whole package.

Crucible Guard is why Marauders are 11 points now.
These Battle Engines look very fine to me. I can see how running a bunch of them might be viable. I'd be annoyed too if I just dropped $800 on a new army though and meta was 3x Siege Jacks.

This thing is just hard enough to survive an unbuffed Marauder on average dice (3 Focus, payed charge = 33,5 damage). So you need to plan for a second Marauder / buff the first. In both cases you trade about the same value. Alternately get some kind of defence on the Interceptor and a Marauder is largely harmless without heavy support. Marauders are not automatically destroying everything big, just because they get an additional damage die against huge bases.

Man, the Interceptor rules look like a blast. I can't wait to have all this stuff available to test with (and for it to be available to buy!)

If I do decide to buy into Crucible I will probably try and steer clear of the battle engines for my wallets sake, especially if they are going to be Black Anchor Heavy Industries

Based on some conversations I have had, the idea behind BAHI is to reduce the cost of some of the more expensive models. If it is going to be over, say, $120 retail, expect it to be in BAHI. If it will be under than price point, expect it on store shelves. The problem they run into is that with every hand that touches it while it is being sent to distributors, the higher the price gets. With PP being the sole seller of these, the price will stay down. The Hooch Hauler is an extreme exception. Supposedly they got way to into creating this and they go carried away. If it was release in retail stores, expect it to be over $200 retail.

Lol, Gastonne is going to like those assault troopers sitting at arm23 vs shooting or as arm20 shield guards... Excited to see what the ranged heavy infantry are going to shape up as

Err, can we not hand out Prowl as a separate rule. This is basically: "All you stealth casters out there? Firetruck you, this guy is immune to all the anti-stealth tech!" And then that spell list and feat, wtf?
