Hey guys, iam also coming from official Forum. I managed to buy Grissel2 and Calandra for a good Price. Now iam looking what to do with them. On Saturday iam fielding aggainst Circle with Baldur 2, i think. His immunity to Blast Damage is horrible. Till then i am looking for some advice. I made 2 Lists for Grissel and 2 for Calandra. Calandra: Power of Dhunia -Runebearer
-Bomber
-EBDT
-Bouncer
-Axer
-Bouncer
-Mauler
Janissa Shaman Stone+UA Runeshapers Knot
Calandra: Power of Dhunia Calandra - Runebearer
-MK
-EBDT
-Mauler
-Blitzer (I am thinking of dropping him)
Janissa Shaman Knot Stone+UAGrissel 2:Power of Dhunia
Grissel 2 - MK
- Bomber
- Storm Troll
- Axer
Janissa Shaman Whelps Stone+UA Knot Runeshapers Grissel 2: No Theme
Grissel 2 - Bomber
- EBDT
- Mauler
Janissa Shaman Fire Eaters Runeshapers Stone+UA Fennblades+UA
Problem is, i dont have that much Units till now, so that i cant change that much. Could i change anything with this lists? I think aggainst Baldur Grissel without Theme would Work. Maybe. I just started playing 3 Month ago and dont have much of a clue yet. Other Models i have: Caster: Ragnor Doomy1 Grissel2 Soon Gunbjorn (This Week) Calandra Warbesats: Imapler *2 Axer *2 Bouncer *2 MK Magnetized Mauler/Bomber/Blitzer *2 EBDT Mulg Units: Fennblades +UA RUneshapers Fireeater Stone+UA Knot Solos: Janissa Whelps Shaman Thank you for helping me out ..

Both Calandra and Grissel 2 work very well in the PoD theme, so you dont need to run out and buy a multitude of units right away. I play Calandra with 5 heavies, 2 of which are Bombers. I use them as my front line together with an EBDT. I do not use a threat extender, because i have Befuddle to help with that, and if they stay far back, i just shoot them with my bombers. If they commit, Bombers and EBDTs are tough to down under star crossed and with Bullet Dodger on one of them. I should then have at least 3, and probably 4 heavies left to punch with. Together with Calandras feat, you kill a LOT of things with that. The list works very well against lots of heavies, but is not super good against infantry swarms. It is not super bad against infantry though, because they are typically living and will have trouble hitting your heavies with MAT 6-7 against effective DEF 15 (counting star crossed and a whelp) or 17 (with BD). Then you keep the bombers back and lob feated bombs in to melee to clear off your other beasts.
Grissel 2 works with basically anything. She needs a bomber, but the rest is basically up to you. My list has had a MK in it for a long time, because it is great on the feat turn with effective ARM 23, but it is not mandatory. Other heavies woks very well there too, though she does not support them a lot except with the feat (not superb if you have only 1" melee, or can be knocked down) and providing knock down. 5 heavies, or 4 heavies and 2 lights, or King + 2 heavies + 1-2 lights are all very valid choices with her.
I think you are on the right track. You might want to tool Grissel to cover shooting extra hard. Having two shield guards and casting deflection and a hill to stand on should make you resilient against shooting. It is not gunnbjorn levels of anti shooting, but it is strong still, and Grissel is significantly better at assassination imo.

I play this with Calandra and so far it has worked REALLY well.
It's very resilient with ARM22 Earthborns and sometimes they're DEF14 as well, there is almost always some kind of water feature on every table. Maximum P+S is of course 20, usually 19. This is not that high but together with Puppet Master, Feat and Fate-blessed it does a lot of work. I like Janissa to improve Calandras DEF, which means she's DEF18 vs Shooting, in Star Crossed which is yummy and usually she has the Earthborn animus on herself, unless I face Cygnar where it's the storm trolls animus instead.
The list was built as a Cygnar drop but it works well against most things. Insane ARM skew such as Baldur2 is rough, but not impossible by any means.

Trollock how do you play 5 heavies with calandra? 2 bomber +1 mauler +2 ebdt? I would like to test 2 bomber + 1 ebdt + 1 mauler + storm + bouncer. Any suggestions?

I play 2 Bombers, 2 Maulers and 1 EBDT. The EBDTs are super awesome, but the list is very dependent on having Rage. If i have only 1 Mauler i need to be so carefu of it that i can not really use it in combat. When i have 2 sources of Rage, i can use both to fight, and thanks to Calandras defensive abilities (and positioning, and not committing them until the second wave) i am still confident that one of them will survive to provide Rage another turn. Having 2 sources of Rage is pretty much nessecary if your list depends on it this heavily.
I really like the bouncer with Calandra too. It is super hard to kill. With Bullet dodger on it, it is effectively harder to kill than most colossals. Against living models it is not even funny how hard it is to get rid of. It does however fight way worse than a EBDT, so i usually upgrade to one of those. They are often even more annoying to kill. If i do not think i need the shield guard, i skip the Bouncer, but depending on what you plan to drop the list against, you could have double bouncer instead.
The storm troll is probably mandatory if this is to be a cygnar drop (calandra does not like electroleaps) but i assume Grissel will be your cygnar drop?
Having 2 lights rather than 1 heavy pretty much means that you are better against infantry and worse against heavies. It also comes down to what you want to drop against khador jack spam or the like.

I see reasons for both ideas. I like the storm vs khador too. His leaps help to deal with solos. The only reason to drop calandra into cygnar is if you expect them to drop the warJack theme.

My last game with Calandra my EBDT at DEF 14 (near shallow water terrain) survived a silly amount of attacks, spectacularly bad Star Crossed rolls by my opponent. I realized I should have had Bullet Dodger on that EBDT (in the zone I had decided was the 'off' zone). And he might have avoided almost all of the attaks, with his miss/move/no-Free-Strikes Dodging. He doesn't need 'threat extension' when the threats attacking him can't hit! [It's funny how I, too, when playing a single Mauler, keep him well-protected/backfield. Reminds me of MK1-2 play, except the Mauler was less often on field in the first place. Bomber, Mauler, EBDT x2 (or EBDT+Slag) has become a very familiar base build for me.]
