I go away for a few days and I find that Zealots are better and Deliverers are worth taking. I should probably go on more holidays.

I was thinking something like this: conflictchamber.com/#c2201b_-0O151r24241L3q3k3k3E3r3r2_jI2i3G3HProtectorate Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Faithful Masses (CID) !!! Your army contains a CID entry. !!! You are using a pre-release theme. (Harbinger 1) The Harbinger of Menoth [+24] - Devout [9] - Templar [15] - Guardian [15] - Vigilant [9] - Hierophant [3] Allegiant of the Order of the Fist [3] Allegiant of the Order of the Fist [3] High Paladin Dartan Vilmon [0(6)] Paladin of the Order of the Wall [4] Paladin of the Order of the Wall [4] Choir of Menoth (min) [4] Holy Zealots (max) [12] - Monolith Bearer [3] Idrian Skirmishers (max) [15] - Idrian Skirmisher Chieftain & Guide [0(5)] I've been wanting to get the Harbinger back on the table and this seems like a fun and fluffy way to do it. The living embodiment of Menoth floating over the field surrounded by her faithful masses. Lots of good martyr targets a good number of shield guards and excellent infantry presence. Ever since themes have become a big thing I've been struggling to get my Harbinger/monk combo on the table and I'm thrilled to be able to do it again. Once the paladin champions drop I may switch around some points to fit one in. I feel like you want a champion somewhere in there Yep ... hence the very last line of my post. My thinking is along the same lines as Grey. Either the vigilant or the devout are expendable. I'll need to some testing to see which one proves to be more valuable.

Vigilant is a core add-in auto-include to 100% of my protectorate lists now. +4 moving defence wandering around the board is so good for our big soft casters.

How so? Unless you bring the UA, they seem to be objectively inferior to trenchers....who have better attack stats, can use go to ground every turn, and can move+shoot while using go to ground. Idrians are only great relative to things like errants.

Also, some of the guys over the Facebook group ran the numbers of Zealots with Malekus + EOT.....it's a scary number of dudes, all throwing out boosted damage. EOT can get up to 24 damage with max buffs. Feat turn you're looking at 30 dudes on the table who have POW 14 bombs rolling 3 extra dice. That's the kind of feat turn that can almost clear the board if you position well. Granted they're RAT5, but with your typical heavy warjack being DEF 12 enough are going to hit to cause some pain. Idrians/Deliverer CRA's will handily wreck the high DEF models, and anything high Armor still gets scrapped by the Eye.
Since you get free monolith bearers (and with the current wording of greater destiny) you probably will be able to have most of them

Ever wonder why the trencher infantry saw play most consistently with Haley3 pre trencher theme? Reposition is huge, particularly with smoke bombs. Tactics: Reposition on a shooting unit with pathfinder is a big plus for Idrians compared to many other shooting units.

Move into forest ... shoot ... repo behind forest denying line of sight. Awesome! My biggest beef with this new theme is that i don't want to buy anymore protectorate. I'm already tempted to get 2 more knights exemplar units with UA, a second unit of vengers, a second unit of flame bringers, and now they're giving me very good reasons to want to more units of zealots with UAs and an additional unit with UA of idrians. Damnit PP ... why you do this?

You could always buy like 4 units of skyhammers and run with sevy1. Cover the board with Pow 16 AOE 4's....
