So what happens with the gun carriage is likely that seconds before impact the driver applies the breaks, and pulls the horses hard to one side. Which slams the carriage around in a circle, crushing the enemy, and then allows them to pull out and maintain momentum. Like drifting a race car. Or he simply doesn't slow down and keeps going. That's even Dumber. Because it's not a chariot. It's a Carriage. First of all, that's not what happens at all because Impact attacks are explicitly Horse or mount based abilities, but even if we ignore that, under that angle, the thing would just tip over. And still, kill all the horses. That only works in Cars because they are not top heavy and not pulled by horses. Also, the new rules mean that they keep making impact attacks.

It's like this: The horses kick up their front paws and knock down whatever is in their path, like when the Rohirim crashed the flank of the orc line in LotR's, then the carriage slowly grinds over the enemies faces like when the SUV rolled over Phil Leotardo's face in The Sopranos.

If the horses have paws, that might be what's causing the problem.

The funny thing is that when it first appears in the fiction, the Cryx forces promptly...identify the horses as the weak spot, kill them, and leave it immobile.

I always viewed mount attacks as being a mixture of both horse bites/kicks as well as grinding wheels, where applicable for cavalry models that are chariots/wagons.

Inside, the carriage is also driven by horses in more armor. With two more horses in armor in the passenger seats. So every time the carriage wrecks into enemy infantry, the horses all trade seats. The injured ones get to sit in the passenger seats so they feel better again by the time their turn comes around. [..] Also, tanks on treads are significantly faster than two horses pulling a huge metal box. I guess the horses inside are also pedaling to make the wheels go. This is perfect, now I just need to mod windows to show this on the model.

I removed the horses and made myself a couple of Drakhun's. Replaced it with a cow catcher and modded a boiler out of a film container on the back. I still maintain that the only thing being ridden was the Carriage itself so removing the horses does not invalidate it as a cav model.

its kinda funny, that you play in a system which uses magic, flying monsters with 4+ wings, little goblins and humans which can Single handily kill robots or Beasts that are twice as big as themselves ans you want to apply the physics of our world. 😁

I was almost WAITING for somebody to bring this up. And I don't even wanna explain it because it's something you explain over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. And people keep asking it again and again and again.

That may be so, it's still a very silly hill to die on.
What I want to know is, how come when my War Dog gets pressed into a pirate crew he suddenly turns into a dude? That's also internally inconsistent and makes my head explode!

Fantasy or Sci-Fi elements does not allow carte blanche to ignore the rules of the universe you've estabilished just because and I really hate it when people use the fact that something contains fantastical elements as an excuse. Like what if everyone in Game Of Thrones started going super sayjin and firing energy beams at each other and flying about the place in the next season. Do I get to say "well its a world with zombies and dragons why is this suddenly an issue?" when people complain that it's stupid. Saying that it might actually get me to watch it.

I'v seen a number of different conversions where the horses have been replaced with other things. If you bought any of the Berserker kits, putting one or two of those pulling it would be a good use for them now.

The horse pulling them are the same mammoth things the MoW Drakhun ride. If you think of it more as a chariot, i can see the use. needs blades on the wheels...

I always viewed it as doing moves that chariots were known to do. You turn just before impacting the enemy, which would drift the carriage into the enemy while the horses would be relatively safe on the inside of the turn. Or you simply don't stop and keep going, which is why you can charge, impact a bunch of dudes, and then finish your charge. Chariots, which is basically what this thing is, always needed to keep moving and never get bogged down in a melee. Melee chariots were meant to slam into the enemy, do a little damage, and then get away to come back for another pass. Also, remember that those horses pulling the carriage are actually quite large. They're basically Shire or Percheron sized horses, they'll easily trample any human sized targets and keep going. I thought the current consensus about chariots and their utility on the ancient battlefield was that they were mostly used as mobile archery platforms that allowed a flanking/skirmishing element. While some other armies used them as shock troops as you point out the physics are particularly wrong for trying to use them, for example, to break down the Greek phalanxes. I get from a "faction theme" standpoint they want the Fun Carriage to be brought into the fray. From a "Slavic" perspective, though, it ignores the innovation in Eastern Europe of having horse drawn gun Carriages that provided highly mobile light artillery to the battlefield which had the added benefit of bringing its own cover.
