What actual infantry do you see. Ghost fleet is only good with Denny1 and other casters that can bring major armor cracking. The whole gimmick is a Scourge + Parasite + Feat assassination, and before that taking things down with Parasite and Crippling Grasp. Oh I don't know - a few random things off the top of my head... Retribution uses Sentinels all the time, as well as the Houseguard (who just got a bonkers good theme list). Khador frequently spams Winter Guard in their theme list - especially with max rockets - and the Iron Fang theme list seems common use. Mercs have had a surge in popularity, and their best lists are Thexus Drudge Spam, and Damanio w/Trencher boat and Steelheads. Praetorians are commonplace in Skorne, and Brigands are the best thing about Minions right now. You just mentioned Ghost Fleet, and Mechanithralls going down some points is going to make them appear a lot more. But yeah...single would infantry is never seen at all What part of "most" do you not understand. Khador and Retribution are pretty much the only factions with externally balanced infantry. Winter Guard are taken because of cheap weapon-master+they outrange most anti-infantry options, Sentinels are taken because cheap weapon-master+they can tank a hit from anti-infantry weapons and are easy to deliver. Jeez, I wonder why the infantry best at armor cracking are so prominent. ain any case, this is off-topic. Stick to the subject.

You made a stament and a question: "almost all infantry sucks" and "what infantry do you see?". I answered both pretty well. I responded with about what, five different factions that regularly use infantry? And that is just a random example. It's obviously pretty commonplace to see infantry - it's hardly the total minority that you are saying. Unless 2017 gets some drastic changed, Dudespam lists will be even more commonplace, because of how Zones are done - they will have a massive advantage, and this new Trencher theme will only enhance this trend.

Out of curiosity, where in the forum rules/terms of service is there a restriction against a conversation organically moving to a new topic?

But yeah...single would infantry is never seen at all I find that from a list-building and challenge perspective, the exaggeration that there is 'no infantry' really means that there is no 'scary infantry'. I don't feel justified in teching specifically to counter infantry. Even now it's just something to consider with list selection in terms of volume of attacks, but I've yet to make a dedicated anti-infantry list like I did in mk2 and mk1. But battlegroups, on the other hand? Have to have a list for dealing with battlegroups.

I haven't had a chance to listen to the primecast yet. Are trencher mechanics and trencher longgunners basically longgunners and mechanics that basicly have 'dig in' and can be taken in theme? It really feels like a money grab if that's the case.

Not exactly they have some other special rules swapped around, but use the same weapons and (presumably) the same stats.

Not exactly they have some other special rules swapped around, but use the same weapons and (presumably) the same stats. Trencher Long Gunners are described as "more accurate" so that definitely sounds like a change in stats. I would guess that they would have the stats of a Trencher, base, rather than a LG. Are Long Gunners still Rat 5, or was that a few editions ago? If the basic LG's are Rat 5, then the Trencher's Rat 6 would definitely be considered "more accurate"

You don't get to get a few more swings in and then declare the argument over as a way of shutting down disagreement.

I shut down the argument by saying it doesn't matter. As you can see, I didn't argue his latest post.
