You're right on that point, Rowdy Dragon. Thanks for helping me understand the context.
I guess I just don't care for the current storyline, and it doesn't 100% matter to me what they name that set of (arcane machinery) abilities on her card. If she's one of the most powerful beings in this universe, she doesn't need much justification for being able to choose from those abilities, in my mind. I want my Old Witch2 to be the powerful Khador witch we've been waiting for, so that's the way I'm building my conversion. Also, the Old Witch model I'm using has a strange steam powered engine on her back and a claw that looks mechanic and a bit arcane (mysterious, in other words). That'd be more than enough for me, if I cared more about what name they gave to the set of "arcane machinery" abilities.
Allowing us to imbue our models with our own ideas and themes through model conversions is one of the smarter things PP has done. I'm rejecting the Grymkin storyline and making a Khador OW2, not the hybrid OW2/3 that we've been given.

Ah, good to know.
She'll get by with her regular staff on my model though.

Well, if the big arcane machinery gyroscope's PRIMARY role is related to this Grymkin BS, I'm glad I didn't include it in my model. I always wanted an OW2 that was simply a more powerful Old Witch *OF KHADOR*. If this current iteration is supposed to play like a focus 9-10 caster, then great, that's where she should've been in the first place. No need for the big gyroscope.

I agree, tapecrawler.

Hey, thanks! That's all stuff I didn't know.

You'd think, with that giant gyroscope on the top of the actual OW2 model, that she'd have some crazy-balls nuke spell. A big, iconic spell or feat. I like the current rules quite a bit, but I don't quite understand how they're supposed to match up with that big gyroscope. She's supposedly one of the most powerful things in this game's universe, and hasn't always had that gyroscope, has she? For me, she can cast her current spells with the staff she's caring, since she's already powerful enough.

I was just assuming her staff was kind of a magic wand, like a wizard's staff.

Ahhhhhhhh, very good idea. I think I'm pretty ignorant of the lore, or fluff, behind this game.

It's still almost as tall as a Conquest. The real OW2 model, in my mind, is too big and unwieldy. Too busy. I can actually put this in my case and go use it, and don't have to be afraid of little weird appendages getting bent. It's meant to be more of a Khador model.

I wanted it to look like a cross between a scrapjack and a hermit's hut. Fun to use actual wood sticks.
It was also important for me to get something with a Khador logo showing. The Conquest wrist shields kind of make a protected balcony area, and have the Khador logos.

I think you're probably right on both accounts. I get wrapped up in reading the intricacies of these rules, but I forget there's people behind them.
Thanks for the insights.

Yeah, I'm absolutely no tournament ace, so it's a bit of a moot point, but I can dream. I also just want to understand the rule.

Right, but within the sentence they require "iconic elements", they state that their reason for that requirement is to "avoid confusion". If your conversion is unmistakable, a careful reading of that rule leads to the conclusion of a legal conversion (with 51% PP parts and the right weapons).

And again, it's thematically appropriate because it's Old Witch's new scrapjack- a warjack made from old warjack scraps.
