I didn't see any discussion on this forum about the news that the new Karchev model is a union with Deathjack. Thoughts?
I have mixed feelings myself. On the one hand: new Karchev! Yay! On the other: someone got Deathjack in my Karchev! Eww...

That’s my same reaction. The Riot Quest aesthetic just slides off me completely, making it difficult for me to get excited or enthusiastic about the models.

I like the aesthetic of Riot Quest models a lot... for Riot Quest. I get why it's a thing but including a bunch of goofy non-canon models in Warmachine leaves a decidedly weird taste in my mouth. The juniors were bad enough.

It's just Karchev with Deathjack features. There is nothing goofy about him, he's probably the least RQ looking RQ model, yet and i don't think anybody would have complained if he was a normal release. I think they did both characters in the model justice and am quite excited for him. Especially since grabbing the skulls of hate just to survive some longer while on the verge of death is the most Karchev thing Karchev could ever have done.

I'm only aware of the one piece of artwork. I can certainly see Karchev grabbing the skulls, I'm just worried that there might end being too much Cryxian influence in the final model and rules. Karchev with some Necromancy is fine, as long as he's still Karchev you know? But yeah, on the whole I'm positive, I'm looking forwards to seeing his WMH rules. Do we know if he will be a Warcaster or a solo?

I’ll bet Karchev2 is a dual Khador/Cryx warcaster.
As for whether the aesthetics are awesome or bad: meh. No point in starting an argument. I will only say that it is not suited to my tastes.

Anyone who attempt to despoil the nation's hero should be punished, even if the hero is my enemy.
But for Riot Quest(that surely not the official future of our Warmachine&Hordes), it seems acceptable and even interesting, as long as he is available in Khador.
An idea for it is, Cryx attempt to corrupt Karchev, but he was able to overcome various brainwash attempt and even able to dominate the mind of Deathjack and escapes(not before taught who's the boss).

Riot Quest is the alternate timeline version of WM where the Infernals win.
Warcaster is what happens to the people who escaped through the Henge Hold stargate, set 5,000 years and a billion light years away from the present day of WM.
The Henge Hold scrolls, once they restart, explain the canonical outcome of the Infernal invasion, and presumably dovetail with the new Iron Kingdoms D&D stuff.

Karchev 2 would be nice on one hand, on the other I've long since given up collecting all khador warcasters, it's just impossible we have way way way to many, I wasn't able to run all the ones I owned when I still played regularly and that was years ago.
Just make some doomreaver uhlans so I can run uhlans in vlad2 wolves of winter again.

Im always excited to see new Khador toys but Im not interested to purchase any Cryx models so I hope its design supports Khador-only models/themes.

I’ll bet Karchev2 is a dual Khador/Cryx warcaster. Sure, but will he be like Old Witch 2/3 or like Nemo 4?

Do we know if he will be a Warcaster or a solo? We have seen the artwork and it's quite detailed. I don't see why the would make a huge departure for that design model wise given it is basically official promotional material and personally he seems to be rather 50/50 The chassis is obviously khadoran, the human head is still there, but the green tinge, the skulls of hate, and the claws are cryxian They also confirmed him to be a warcaster. They haven't confirmed his faction yet but i very much doubt they would piss Khador players off in such a way by making him Cryx only.

An idea for it is, Cryx attempt to corrupt Karchev, but he was able to overcome various brainwash attempt and even able to dominate the mind of Deathjack and escapes(not before taught who's the boss). I'm hazy on the details but what I was told was something like: in battle Deathjack was destroyed (which it seems happens sometimes, they just slap the magic skulls on a new frame and boom: new Deathjack, or something), and Karchev was critically damaged. So while he was crawling around he came across the skulls and slapped them onto his chassis himself (guess as a Greylord he recognized their power or something). So it wasn't done to him, he did it himself. The question I have is: is it Karchev now wielding the power of the skulls, or do the skulls have sentience and and agency (and perhaps some kind of loyalty to Cryx) that influence Karchev's decision making process now? I guess it doesn't matter that much since Khador isn't really a thing in the Riotquest timeline, so Karchev's previously steadfast loyalty to the Motherland isn't really a factor, fluff-wise.

They also confirmed him to be a warcaster. They haven't confirmed his faction yet but i very much doubt they would piss Khador players off in such a way by making him Cryx only. So a full warcaster? Fair enough, although I am a little disappointwd I won't be able to take him in a list with Strakhov after all. I'm sure they're not craxy enough to do something insane like making him Cryx-only. Aesthetically speaking claws and skulls are fine, I just don't want any of that Cryxian triangular-trumpet smokestack stuff. Hey, maybe the claws will make his fist P+S 16!
